Banned because I hate existence too. I mean, what's the problem with the whole universe disappearing? You wouldn't be around to notice it anyway, and then nobody would ever exist to be sad about anything. Ever. Why does nobody get that but me? >_>

Banned for liking ponies. That's the number one reason people hate furries right now. I don't, however. Except I hate ponies.

Banned because I don't know the point of making the quick-reply box small if it expands when you click it anyway.

posted a message on Gears and mechanics
Ok, so there might be a thread about this already, well, there is, but it's locked now. Anyway, we should have gears and other mechanical things, as a counter-part to redstone. We could have gear blocks, and you'd need to place gear blocks in a line, connecting from a power source to the output system. Also, you make 10 gear blocks with each craft, which might be too much, but considering all the iron needed, and the fact that the gear blocks take up space and you'd need lots to connect things, means that it should be OK. Just so you know, half blocks are gear blocks and red mushoos are redstone dust.

Input/power supplies are: Waterwheels, attached to flowing water, which would power any gear blocks connected to it (No distance limits, unlike redstone). Windmills, which would supply constant power, but would have to be built a certain level up (Above the clouds, I suppose). Cog furnaces, which would look like a normal furnace, but with cogs on the side. I wouldn't have a space for ores if you clicked on it though, and it would be designed for portable power. Lava furnaces, which would be made of metal, and you'd place it near lava to power it forever. Good for permanent, portable power if you happen to have a bucket of lava as well. And, finally, a redstone motor, which provides power to gears if activated by levers, sun sensors (See bottom), pressure plates or buttons, but not redstone torches. Used to connect redstone technology and gears. Here's the crafting thingies:

The cobblestone can be replaced with wood, who more style. Who the hell you fit one block into another block, which is the same size, I have no idea, but it happens. This block gives an energy boost to any minecarts that drive over it. Of course, it has minecart tracks inexplicably, and automatically, attached to the top. Actually, to partially solve the block inside a block problem, this makes 3 boosters.

Mostly just for decoration really, but it could be used to cool water into ice or something. Or power windmills. You could use a waterwheel to power a windmill that powers a pump that powers the waterwheel, which is probably a great (Albeit impossible) idea. Then again, it could work, if you started the whole thing with yet another power source. Also, powering a windmill with a fan, you could say you were environmentally friendly, forgetting to mention, of course, that the fan is powered by coal from a huge TNT-powered strip mine. Serves 2 (It makes 2 per crafting template thingy).

    Pump:
    :Iron: :_: :Iron:

This helps power a waterwheel with itself, and not only that, you also get 3 for 1 here. When you place it, next to water (Including diagonally vertically, but not diagonally horizontally), it makes the water flow away from the direction you placed it from, if it gets power and there's no blockages, such as in front of the outflow or blocking the entrance. If not powered, no water could get through, making it an alternatable floodgate.

Lava pump (I blame/thank dwarf fortress):
    :obsidian: :_: :obsidian:

Just like a pump, except better! Stick 3 of them in the same direction to shoot lava up to 20 metres!*

*20 metres not guaranteed, batteries not included.

    Floodgate:

It would look like an iron cage/spawner, but when you closed it, the gaps would be filled with darker grey metal. When open with water/lava above or next to it, the gaps would look like water or lava. It could be opened and closed with either gears or redstone, and you could stand on it. If possible, Notch could make sand fall through it when open (Which would probably open up loads of ideas for computing), and maybe dropped items too.

Feel free to post any advice, suggestions, compliments, opinions, complaints, or some other things. Also, side thingy:
    :RedShroom: :RedShroom: :RedShroom:
    :Iron: :Iron: :Iron:
Sun sensor, activates like a button when hit with a certain amount of light, such as from dawn or people placing torches. Useful for timers when combined with things like floodgates (Blocking off a lava flow when switched off). Oh yeah, and, as you might've noticed, it connects to redstone, not gears.

EDIT: Oops, forgot to add this:

    I hope that works...
