posted a message on A Few Questions About Redstone Ore
    Quote from wolfeuk

dont think you can ever have enough redstone, if i could make a swimming pool out of the stuff i would ;)
theres so many projects that require huge quantity's of it thats whys theres alot :)

    ^^this.

Once you get into the wonders of redstone, you can never have enough. You will need it to make resdstone torches and repeaters, as well as to lay out all the wiring. Even for a smallish project like a sugar cane farm you can use up two or three stacks of the stuff. For a major railway station, an automatic bank with minecarts, etc., you had better have a chest full of it.

posted a message on 144 blocks?
    Quote from wolfeuk

i asked this question yesterday ?

anyway FayzedNZ posted this, not sure if its from the pc version and ppl presume we have the same spawns on the 360 ?

I love this picture. I have always explained it as a donut on a dinner plate, and this is the perfect visual. Mobs won't spawn in the donut hole, which is a sphere with a 24 block radius. They will spawn on the donut, which is a sphere with a 72 block radius (a 144 block diameter, to correct above posters), and they will not spawn on the plate, which is everything outside of the 72 block radius.

posted a message on How do you get ice?
You could get ice now if you wanted it bad enough. Here is what you need to do:

    1) Find a snow biome(It's the one with all the snow, lol)
    2) Make a bucket.
    3) put dirt in this pattern with water in the center:
    :: :soil: ::
    :soil: :Blue: :soil:
    :: :soil: ::

This water will eventually freeze. You can repeat this process and build your molds as big as you want. The only problem is that any light source will melt your ice and you will have a mess on your hands.

In order to light a room perfectly, using the least amount of glowstone, one should place them with 14 blocks in between each block. Then, from the first block count up 7 blocks and over eight blocks and repeat until the room is filled with light.

posted a message on Post your Xbox Photos here
I really like the site. But, I like posting pics here even better, so here's Slacka Town:

This is the industrial side of my town. The building with the big glass window is the evolution of my "dirt hut" that I started with the first night. The big stone building next to the pool is the bank. One side is filled with chests of my normal blocks, while the other side has a private storage area protected by a combination lock. One of the small cobble buildings is a forge, and the other is the entrance to the subway going to the next island. You can also see a cactus farm, a reed farm, and a wheat farm.

This is my windmill. The waterfall and lake are man made.

This is the entrance to the bank. Behind it you can see the windmill and Creeper Tower.

This is the Slack Wall. It serves absolutely no purpose other than self aggrandizement.

This is one of my villager houses.

This is the courtyard that people will see when first entering Slacka Town.

posted a message on Technic Pack for Xbox?

Forgive my ignorance but what is the technic pack?

    Quote from george1710

Just because you don't know what it is, doesn't mean your ignorant dude..

    Quote from DieHardkiller

not knowing is not ignorance, not looking it up to see what it is, is.

Knowing what it is, basically adding buildcraft and industrial craft^2, those alone I would fork over the $20. Those make the idea of building from nothing to empire, or stone age to space travel, fun.

Actually, not knowing is ignorance, and there is nothing wrong with that. What you guys are thinking of is stupidity, which is where you know something, but don't apply it. We are all ignorant of a lot of things, and the only way to find out is to ask.

posted a message on How much as Minecraft (xbe) cost you?
    Holy cow... let's see...

$14 for the original PC Minecraft
    $20 for the xbox version
    $399 for the xbox
$800 for the tv it's on
$0 for the table it sits on (Hand me down)
$72,900 for the house I play it in.

Add in all the maintenance to keep the house liveable enough to play in, property taxes paid over the years, the food it has taken to sustain me all these years to be able to play...

I'd say Minecraft has cost me about a quarter million dollars or so.
