Captain White Eye of his future crew, stood atop the sandy beach, letting the cool ocean breeze hit his face. When sailing, he remarked seeing seas of school fish swim past the ship. In the tempest of the storm, he experienced nature's true weapons. When raiding, well, he raided and plundered lots of things. This is the life he wanted.

The waves lapped against the brittle beach, allowing a serene aura to wash over the small island. As the beach met the mainland, though, the serene feeling was changed to one of an air of business, what appeared was many a man hauling long logs of timber and throwing them onto platforms for mules to pull. As they worked, a few select men watched over them from a hill with a wooden cottage on it. To the unsuspecting eye, it was nothing more than a cottage, but, below it ran miles and miles of tunnels and caverns, allowing the men who worked their secret rooms to live and store their things in. Other than this, the island sported nothing fantastic, short of an average sized ship being made.
As the men worked on their ship, they found a small village nearby the island that sported a luxurious treasury, that had every jewel the heart could dream of, and little militia guarded it. Seizing their greedy little hearts, the men launched a surprise looting of the town, slaying many of its inhabitants and claiming the treasury as their own. This surprising victory allowed the men an air of superiority over others, convinced of their might, they built the rest of their ship, and continued to raid and loot other settlements, amounting a large fortune, and unmatched skills.

From here, the Pirates were formed. Merry in the life they live, in a small port town with their ships surrounding it, the Pirates live for pure enjoyment, sailing, and plundering. Their ambitions? To live life to it's fullest. That is a true Pirate's goal in life, and forever it would be.

Culture: A group of warriors and tradeworkers, sharing a vast amount of ships and booty, looking to live life to it's fullest.
Speech: They often slur their words, but generally speak common.

    Sven never had a home.
He was a transferred baby, living from one place to the next. Sven would always ponder to himself, did his mother abandon him in birth? Or did she die in birth? The question remains unknown to Sven this very day. As a child, he would wander. Of course, he would have to do things that were not ordinary for other children. Steal food. Bribe. Inflict pain. He would constantly be living in shacks, the wilderness, people taking him in, or even tribes. But as it was from birth, he belonged to no one. He didn't even know his parents, so who should dictate him?

Over the years, Sven would grow in his lust for absolute freedom, not abiding to the rules of anybody. Sven was his own person, and he liked it. He traveled far and wide. Slept with woman. Drunk alcohol. Got into fist fights. But in the end, Sven was always on the road, looking for something new and exciting, adventure. That was another aspect that plagued his life. Because of his aspect of freedom, Sven desires adventure, and excitement. He wanted life to be the juiciest thing possible. Every new thing he saw was a potential fun, a potential adventure. But he lusted for the most valuable adventure of all:
    Magic.

Over the years, Sven grew into a healthy man. Taught words when he was a orphan to rich families, and strengthened by the hardiness of the wilderness, he almost had everything he wanted, and life seemed great, until one day. While Sven was out near the Human Kingdom, he stumbled upon a large territory named as "The Crusade". Curious, he sneaked around the camp, looking for something to do. As sun peaked over the horizon, he thought, "Well, let's take a swim!" and as he dove down into the watery deeps, he saw something disturbing. A dead man, at the bottom of the water. Sven, panicking, drew him up and dragged him onto shore. He opened his pack, looking for an identity. Instead, he found a large jumble of potions and raw materials, and then, he saw it. It was a rather large back, 3/4ths of the main pack the dead man carried. Inside it was a vast array of small, bundled up scrolls. Sven would open them, but the words were ancient and unknown to him.

Grateful for the discovery, he carried the man's body out some distance and buried his body. Sven said his salutes, and was on his way. Many questions flooded his mind. What are these scrolls? What do they do? And can this actually be the way, and the key, to Magic?

    How do you respond?:
Sven raises his eyebrow. "You sure?"
The Captain nods, drawing his sword.
Sven looks at the water off the dock, then shrugs. It isn't a BAD time to swim, is it? He jumps, swimming away furiously into the depths, laughing to himself.

"H.. Honey.. you.. you have to leave.." then I felt his body start to cool, and a single tear dropped my eye, after that I swore to never fall for a man.. or anyone ever again.. I ran to our home quick, packed up or bags, and just walked. I stayed in inns while walking, my husband left me money enough to live very well for a while. As I am writing this months after his death, I have looked back on our relation ship realizing I should have cherished the one thing I had ever loved.. well truely. After I killed my parents and ran away, he was the one decent person in my life. I miss him even today.

I have been staying in inns since then, I have had relationships with many men. I have never loved any of them, it seems it has always just been for fun and never for any real reason, I miss feeling the love and companionship from one person that I can truely love and trust. I have also been drinking heavily since then which is probably why I am here *slightly laughs* well I have really been having a problem with that. I have been trying to replace human companionship with alchahool for a very long time now. I had even joined an underground group who made me go out and spend nights with strangers just for a lousy percentage and free drinks.

I think it all leads back to when I killed my parents. I remember them saying that I couldn't go with my first love, and husband, John, so I slaughtered them in their sleep. I can see the image of their blood soaked heads even today in my dreams. I miss them I truely do and I regret what I did to them. I think all I need is someone to love, but I have closed myself off emotionally and I now long for companion ship. What should I do? Thank you all for listening. I know that you all must feel that myself as the new commer who sailed in just short of a week ago doesn't deserve any attention, but you must understand what I am going through. The journey here wasn't an easy one, I hope you know that I had to walk half of the way here from elantria, then sail the rest of the way.

Man! Was so excited to get on today. Things are going insane with the Crusade, (I'm feeling like naming it the Burning Crusade, but I won't WoW anyone.) and with the Council. The Crusade has acquired a very powerful weapon that could mean the war between them.

Termus stood atop the snow covered hill, the snowflakes avoiding his contact. He looked at his arm, the glowing purple mark pulsating in his flesh. The pain that he felt was but a fraction of the whole, the true terror that had come to this land. He had made up his mind, unlike so many that came before him. He would stand up to the great evil once and for all. The Council, the epitome of all the evil in this world, had left their mark on his skin; So too would Termus leave his mark on the world. He decided, on this snow covered top, that he would defy these powerful beings. He would create a group powerful enough to withstand their seemingly limitless powers. This group, is The Crusade.

The Crusade is the beacon of hope for Raiven. They will stand up to the Council and all its actions, and they will bring peace to this warring world. No more than the people become puppets. No more will the lives of innocents be taken away by the merciless shadows. The Council will fall at The Crusade's hands, for they must; Else, Raiven will be consumed by darkness.

The Crusade started very when Termus was going to kill King Payens. But when he mentioned the Council, the twinge of doubt had been planted in his head. The suspicion. He wanted to know who the Council was, and why Payens was so concerned about them. Later, with an encounter he would never forget, he came close to death as members of the Council assaulted him. Later on, he would find the minds that were also warped against these evil beings. Brought together, they would end the Council, forever.

Together, The Crusade shall stand. In day, in night. Through rain or snow. Through fire or water. Through the erosion of the world, The Crusade shall stand tall and bright. Never failing, always delivering, the corruption of Ravien will fall at the feet...
    of The Crusaders.

You replied to the reply I sent to someone else, not the second one I sent to you.

With 30 players online, 5 races and a spawn town, the math shows that to be even you could have 5 players per city. This doesn't account for people that go out into the wild, or the fact that clearly the race population isn't actually balanced, so this is a decent, amount, I will admit, and gets closer to what's needed for the size of the map. But you still started the server off too large, and whether it was by too big of ambitions or just not prepared for what the server would receive players-wise, it's still bad.

...But, seriously, you failed to realise you could put a bloody rule board in the spawn. Come on.

Last response. So far, you haven't been telling anyone how to fix the problems. You said you wanted to fix the server? Help us. You pointed out our "sucky" mistakes, so tell us how we can fix it.

This server has a severely undevelopped roleplay. The moment you walk in, the place is an abandoned area with people spread so thin that any form of serious roleplay is undeniably impossible, except for 'Events' that they do.

But when they do an event, they announce it to the server and expect your characters to be schizophrenic and rush to the scene of the event, which is breaking a huge rule of roleplaying: Metagaming. My character has no reason to know about the things happening halfway across the earth, and the admins allow everybody to run over for no given reason whatsoever. Just 'I'll be there in a sec.'

Not only that, but the admins kicked someone from a server a few seconds after telling someone to change their skin, allegedly a 'rule' that you need an appropriate skin, which they think is part of 'common sense' for everybody on the planet, when common sense is actually very general and nowhere near specific enough of a rule.

The admin also states that you are breaking the rules if you create a faction, and yet the OP Says nothing of the sort.

(EDIT: I Forgot to mention the fact that the OP Itself says the server doesn't have many rules.

    Seriously?

    )

The only thing there is to do is walk out into the wild and live as a hermit with any friends you bring on the server, because I saw literally only one other person on the server, and when I attempted to roleplay with him he walked away from me without speaking.

The server is unprofessional, incompetent, immature and just downright in need of too many improvements to deal with. I haven't even mentioned the massive amounts of constant lag, or the fact that their class system restricts you from doing far too many things in roleplay. If a mage works out every day, he should be able to wear diamond armour just like a warrior can. They are stereotypical classes, and this server looks like all you're trying to do is play World of Warcraft in Minecraft.

The best part is the moment I gave them criticism, someone told me to jump off a cliff, and everyone started saying 'ban this loser".

    Very mature community there.

I've owned three roleplaying servers, I've had my own mistakes, my own criticism, my own banning situations, my own arguments. I don't know if this is your first server and that's the reason it's so plainly bad, but you have far too much to learn to be banning people that can actually tell you what you're doing wrong just because you don't want to have to do anything about it.

Seriously? I can go on and on about how ignorant you are, but I'll just go ahead and point out your mistakes.

First off, not every server is teeming with life. ESPECIALLY RP servers. So far the maximum users online I am seeing are 15 users, and there are lots of different cities and races, ranging from Dwarves, Humans, Elves, Demons, and Guardians. With all of those people split up, AND the occasional exciting quest that takes someone OUTSIDE cities, you are getting pissy at us for not having people in the city?

The best part is the moment I gave them criticism, someone told me to jump off a cliff, and everyone started saying 'ban this loser".

Oh really? I have a distinct feeling of BS. The community is very nice and well respectful, and when there always a few sour apples in every community, we are overall nice. So I really couldn't imagine this happening.

because I saw literally only one other person on the server, and when I attempted to roleplay with him he walked away from me without speaking.

Your point? There could be so many reasons why he walked pass. Is he social? Is he busy? Is he shy? I hate saying this, but don't judge a book by it's cover.

I don't know if this is your first server and that's the reason it's so plainly bad, but you have far too much to learn to be banning people that can actually tell you what you're doing wrong just because you don't want to have to do anything about it.

Something is telling me you are very wrong about this. Perhaps you were looking for mistakes so much, saw one little incident, and ran to the forums to rant. The ONLY ban I saw that has been given out was to someone who was sexually harassing people and overall making for very disturbing RP. I've been gone for 1 hour and this BS post pops up about all of these bans and horrible people. I've been playing since Ravien popped up, and it's been a nice experience.
You never gave the server a chance. You played for 20 minutes, formed up that response, and expect the admins to consider it?

Hello, I plan on signing up for this server. But since the forum post is very short and lacking in much detail I would like to ask a few questions.
    1. What kind of plugins do you have? Is there a races and classes plugin?
    2. Do you choose a race and class at the start? Or do the classes slowly develop over time?
    3. You mentioned Pirates. Can Elves and Dwarves be Pirates also?
    4. Is there a list of classes anywhere (if there is classes) that I can see? So I can better design my lore.
    5. In the world of Ravien is there more lands that humanoids originate from? (I do not wish to be Guardian nor Daemon.) I perhaps wish my character originate from another land.
    6. Is it ok if I also apply for my friend, he doesn't have a mf.net account

    Thanks for reading

    -Diarmuid

    1. Class plugin, we'll get soon I hope. Race? I think that will intertwine with the class plugin.
    2. Race and class at the start, only getting new ones when your character dies.
    3. Anyone can be anything. That's the beauty of RP servers.
    4. Pretty much like everything else, Swordsman, Archer, Magi, then Human, Elf, Dwarf, Guardian and Demon. You can specialize your character as a witty Ranger, a destruction Magi, etc.
    5. Yes. It's actually very allowed. My character is from a different world entirely.
    6. Not sure.

    LORE:

The Gods are a furious race. Disappointed with it's creation, they want you dead. There is no safe haven for you. However, the Gods are bound by their powerful realm, and they cannot come and personally kill you. They can create and send after you, though. The Drums of War will sound once more.

    ------

I wanted to see if anyone would like this type of server. Basically, it's a dangerous server where the "Gods" constantly send monsters after you in attempts to slaughter you. Living on your own can get you banished, (Banned for 1 day), living in a town is a lot safer. Every day or so, there will be a Town Defense event. The Gods will throw everything they got at you. If your city may fall, they will send their legion of creepers to demolish it. If you may survive the encounter, well, you survive. As more members join your team, you can upgrade your town. As you upgrade your town, the harder the waves the Gods may send at you. If you are at a very high Town level, (Kingdom), they will send hundreds of monsters at your city. It is up to you to protect you and your peers.

There is also a variety of other things. Admins/mods will come at you as Assassins, with iron blades and special effects. Bombs will rain from the sky. Infections will spread.

Would anyone be interested in this?

    How to RP Fight:

Going to suggest for Golga to put this up on the thread. For anyone that's new to RPing, READ THIS.

The whole RP fighting system is an honor system. When engaging a RP fight, no swords is used, only the brutality of your words. You "pretend" to act out the whole fight, but the system is so golden because it allows for you to dodge, slice, do all sorts of fun stuff. But if not used correctly, well, it's a disaster.

A good one comes to this:

Mike: *Mike picks up his sword off the ground, still crouching, and slices sideways at Bob's knee's.*
Bob: *Bob jumps up, the blade slicing the air, as he jumps up, he aims an overhead slice with his sword.*
(Seeing that Bob has dodged his shot, Mike will dodge Bob's shot.) Mike: Rolls to the side, Bob's sword hitting the pavement.*
Mike: *Mike aims a slice at Bob's chest*
Bob: *He barely dodges it in time, but the sword still grazes his chest, as Bob falls to the floor, yelping in pain.*
Bob: *On the ground, he aims a cut at Bob's legs*
MIke: *The blades hit Mike firmly in the knee's, and he buckles down, crying out in pain, as he do a floor brawl.*

I'll end it here. Do you see how it's an honor system? At the start, since Bob dodges Mike's shot, he will dodge Bob's shot. If he gets hit, the other gets hit. But you always have to estimate it on your enemy's moves. A farmer vs. the most capable warrior on the planet. Will the farmer win? Probably not. They have to way it out. If you are a trainee warrior fighting the captain of the guard, the captain has a BIG advantage on you, so you should let his shots deal more blows. Is your character physically/mentally disabled? Let it play out in the fight. Do you want your character to die? Is there an event in his/her life, (Ingame), that is distracting him/her from combat? All of these factors must be considered in a RP fight.

Die honorably. Who cares if you like your character. ALL characters MUST die eventually. It's powergaming if they do not. If you are outmatched, out powered, and/or near death, DIE, because you'll get in trouble if you don't play by your possibilities.

Ehm, nevermind, I will retract my statement.

Almost 90% of this server doesn't know how RP properly, and when RP fighting comes to mind it's usually "For my people!" *Spam clicks diamond sword given to them*. The server has no sense of economic value. I asked for food and was given 17 steaks. Upon entry of the Assassins I was given a full suit of diamond armor. All of the King's guards have maxed out enchantments of their diamond armor. The reason for most of this is the poor quality of the applications, they don't squeeze out every detail needed to make sure it's a place of RPers, not recent converts from PvP servers.
I'm out, guys, had a good time.
