posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)

I have been using OptiFine ever since I found out about it. But will there be a version of optiFine for 1.14 and above still?

Almost definitely, though it may be a bit as they reworked the lighting/rendering engine in 1.14 and it may take a bit for the new version to be ready. 1.14 also isn't very optimized in the first place.

Hey, I downloaded the new version of both Minimap and World Map today, and that was the only thing I changed in my modpack. I got a crash literally every time I tried to load into a world; about a second after the loading screen disappeared, so would Minecraft.

I rolled back to the previous version and once again I have no issues. I'll try to get a crash log after a bit, but just wanted to post a heads-up.

Making Hitbox changes with MPM has been asked many, many times and each time has been declined.
I'm afraid it's just not going to happen.

Yeah, the FAQ says that it wouldn't be completely out of the question if a good workable way could be found, but overall it's entirely designed to be an aesthetic mod so that's pretty much the end of it. The opposite end of the spectrum exists, too, where super-super-short models would be nigh-impossible to hit if the hitbox changed with the model size. If you don't believe me, try bat hunting. :P

posted a message on Isabella Status Thread (Updated 4 June 2021)

Thank you so, so, so much for this. After swapping to the Console Edition for a while, I've just gotten back into "proper" Minecraft with some friends, having reactivated our Realms server. I've dabbled with Doku, but my absolute favorite pack of all time was the original Isabella, and I followed through its discontinuation and partial revival and lost touch after 1.8ish when I couldn't find any updates for a while.

Now there's this. Now all the best memories are coming back. Now it's my Minecraft again.

Thank you. From the bottom of my miner's heart.

I'm not mad at you, skull, but I'll say it one more time: I have, and never have had, any intention to make major changes to textures done by Eld himself. As for the wools, and a few other textures, however, I have made some minor modifications, such as making the black, white, grey and light grey wools, contrast more from each other, making brown a bit more brown, etc. I also changed the cobweb so it wasn't so flat, and extended the vines over one pixel, but that's about it. Those were done because I thought that they could afford to be changed, and to look better and have more variety.

I didn't mean to infer that you had, and those edits keep very much in the spirit of the pack and I meant nothing negative in my comment. I just meant to say that I kept Eld's original versions of those textures, alluding to that as the background for why it was my opinion to keep the crosshair end stone. Just voicing my opinions in an (obviously) unnecessarily verbose manner. I'm not mad, either; I realized you weren't and I'm obviously just not communicating my understanding of that fact in the most efficacious way.

In fact, I'd like to compliment you at this juncture for those edits; as I said, they keep very well with the spirit of the pack and are skillfully adjusted to maximize their potential. Great stuff, I really mean that and I'm sorry to have come off as expressing displeasure and/or apathy at the concept of such things.

Lastly, in regards to the enchantment table. I finally decided to just look at it in game, and I saw nothing wrong with it. However, I think I see where you could be getting confused, based on this: "The bottom of the table (the upper right, darker corner)" The upper right corner texture is NOT the bottom of the table, it's actually the Ender Dragon Egg texture. The one underneath THAT texture is the enchantment table bottom. So hopefully that will clear up all the confusion, and if you look at it in game, you will see that all is well.

Heh, well, I feel a little foolish now. :P It looks similar enough to the enchantment table texture to have confused me, thanks for clearing that up. Does that mean that the Ender Dragon Egg has a lighter stripe of pixels on the bottom of it? Or does that bit not even show up? I'm just wondering from a purely academic standpoint now.

krisCrash, I know you were just working with the new decorative sandstones, and I didn't mean anything negative there, either (I really need to work on my communication, here :P). I just meant to put in my vote to not use the End Stone-like decorative sandstone. You've also done great work with your edits, textures, and everything else you've contributed, and despite the fact we have differing opinions I'm not trying to express anger or displeasure, just a different point of view. ;)

I hope I've set everything straight, again, I didn't mean to come off in the ways I obviously did. :P Everybody have a nice day.

    ...THIS one! :D

A couple things I noticed about the newest download, which you've so kindly provided; I saw that you used Solifuge's "crosshair" sandstone block, which looks extremely similar to the default End Stone, which is also in there. Obviously, that's an easy swap-out if anyone bothers to muck with the terrain.png, but I thought it was a little odd.

Also, the bottom texture for the enchanting table, which I had noticed previously but forgotten about, has one row of lightened pixels which make it the same shade as the side. I don't suppose this will ever come up in-game unless someone makes an enchanting table in the air, but I happened to notice it and thought I'd make it known.

On a completely unrelated note, didn't somebody make an enchanting table texture with the diamonds on the corners once? I've looked through my various alternate texture files and couldn't come across it. Seems like somebody had whipped one up after someone else pointed out that there are diamonds in the recipe and missed seeing them on the table itself, if I remember correctly. :P

I think ultimately with all the directions this thread is going in right now we're gonna have several different packs.

I, at least, have come to think of Jman's compilations as the "official" unofficial pack; he includes the alternate textures that I swap around to make the pack my own, but he's the one that's been posting the whole pack for the most part and I think that's where most of us get the "baseline" Eldpack.

    Have a nice day!

Well, I have most of the char.png down, except for well...the hair. Not sure I'm capable of doing that, I may give it a shot, but more likely then not I'm going to post it without hair and have someone else do it :3

EDIT: Decided just to post it, so you guys can see how it looks so far! ^.^

EDITEDIT: Yeah, I have absolutely no idea how to make Eld style hair .-.

Yeah, obviously the hair is, uh, something to take a look at. :P But it looks nice.

One thing I kinda thought of when I brought up the concept of an Eldpack default skin was something like unto the little character pictured in Eld's game, which for obvious reasons parallels the style of Eldpack. The shirt would be darker and the pants would be brown, (I might go for a slightly darker shirt anyway), and you could even completely circumvent the whole hair problem by putting the helmet on it (see http://eldrone.tumbl...building-houses for a decent sideview of the sprite).

Ok, I'm back from the dead guys, with final versions of the GUI!

I slept on it some more and figured out I HAD to find a way to get scrolls in the GUI, because I felt like the black and white text was a cop out. So, now, instead of just the Enchantment table being updated, I have updated all of the Eldpack menus to have the scrolls!

    <snip>

That, sir, is, pardon my French, wicked tits. I'm slapping that in my Minecraft right stat now. ;) Excellent work.

    Have a nice day!

Also, I'm pretty bored right now, anyone got any requests?

Just throwing this out there, but what about an Eldpack-themed "default" player skin? Would that project be of any interest?
