I would suggest just simply sevely stunting seed drop rate.
Garuntee 1 seed from each tree, (that means you can at least replicate the tree you destroy)
then you will be lucky to get 2 or 3 seeds from 1 tree, and Extremely lucky, damn near impossible for 4 seeds.
i second those ideas, they sound glorious.
Your irrigation system is in-efficient though.
in that same sized plot i could fit 7 rows of dirt. :biggrin.gif:
I feel your rage Soviet.
I'm "Hoping" as he's going to be away for 3 weeks, Notch will activate saving before he leaves, hopefully in the thursday update.
If you look closely, after you hit an enemy down, before it dissapears, (granted you knock it off it's target when it dies, which is you, which you almost definately will do, :biggrin.gif: ) the enemy lying on the floor starts rotating to face you again.
This could cause some bugs in the future from a small bug like this, best to catch them early on.
Also, it has just started looking wierd now.
Looking at a rotating corpes makes me feel all wierd inside :tongue.gif:
i agree with Orj, your balance of resources is rather correct, but magic items seems to have gone too far.
I dont however agree with stopping at steel, unless you have an idea for some other use for gold blocks, otherwise they are just pointlessly in-game.
I never thought of making new forms of defence.
That idea i admit i love.
I was brainstorming with Grey on MSN earlier.
and to be able to make a fort that is "Useful" the AI will have to randomly hunt down the Player from ANY point on the map, not just when the player gets close.
I'm not saying every monster goes for the player from start.
but maybe randomly every few minutes some mob are spawned that go for the player, no matter how far away they are from the player
this will make forts useful, having "stronger" blocks will also mean the AI will intelligently attack blocks in their way.
I can confirm this bug as a global bug for all mobs.
This is, what i would presume to be a skeleton.
It was when i loaded a "Huge" map
(it might just be the scale of the loading at start that causes it to miss bits out)
I tried it again, cleared cashe and java too, and generated a new one, low and behold i found another.
Not just a prank imo.
When you build up to the height of the game world, you cannot place anymore blocks (as we all know)
But when you try this on survival (i was making an observation tower) when you attempt to build higher than the game world, it does not place a block, but a block is removed from your inventory.
I didn't notice this until it was too late!

I killed 1 creeper, which killed another, which killed another, in a mad downword spiral.
also took 2 skeletons and a pig with them!
Mad men they are!
pigs and creepers alike,
all getting on well.
shame they have to die.
