posted a message on Know any good games?

On the 3ds, I had a lot of fun playing "Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom". It's hard, and it's a lot like the old school Zelda games.

posted a message on Any Skyrim fans out there?

Great game. I started out playing a stealthy character, as I usually do. When I became more powerful, I started just running up and going full melee. After I beat the game and started getting bored, I tried getting into magic.

posted a message on We were all noobs once. What is your minecraft noob story?

When I FIRST started playing, long ago, I quickly figured out that I could use sky bridges to get around safely (mostly). But, it took me a while to realize that it was safer to work on the edges when crouching. So I just built those bridges standing (not crouching), and had to be really super careful standing out on the edges. I fell to my death a few times needlessly. ;)

Also, neat tip, I learned much later that the same applies to ladders. Use crouch to pause on a ladder without having to bob up and down on it to build from there.

You guys who like noob stories might like this free book of mine. I set it free forever on Amazon. It's based on an adventure I had with some friends, and when we got back into Minecraft after being out of it for a LONG time (playing stuff like 7 days to die, terrarria, starbound, etc. for a while), we were quite the noobs again when we started up again, lol.

posted a message on Need help with enchantment table

Once, I couldn't figure out why my enchantment table was giving me max enchantments, even though the bookshelves were just right. After a lot of tinkering and head scratching, I realized that it was because I had laid down decorative carpet in between the bookshelves and the enchanting table. Once I destroyed the carpet, problem solved.

Yep. Just wait it out. Heck, you can build and they can't. Just block yourself off for a while and start tunneling into a different position until they forget about you. ;)

posted a message on Skeleton Steve Skin

Here's my own skin, for my book-author character. I usually give the skin to my fans when they're in my free club.

You can see me using the skin in this audiobook reading I made recently on Youtube:

Interesting thing about skins that I haven't figured out yet though, is the transparency. On skindex, my Skeleton Steve skin has lots of transparent areas that make him look like an actual skeleton. In the game, however, the transparent areas are filled in with black. Like in the video above. Anyone figured out a way to preserve transparency in the game?

posted a message on Uses For Frost Walker?

That does seem a bit pricey for boots that just let you run on water--even though they're pretty cool.

Good idea about using them for faster transport in darkness. I could see making tunnels covered in water and keeping the surface frozen as a non-mine cart highway from one place to another.

Courageous_Marinade mentions harvesting lava. Can you use those boots to walk on lava like you do on water? I've never tried that.

posted a message on How do villagers breed?
    Quote from badbat111»

to breed villagers you need to fill there inventory with carrots or potatoes not seeds they have 8 inventory slots once 2 villagers are full they should breed if not you might have to trade with both villagers to get them started

i prefair the old way where you had a ton of doors

I haven't heard this one yet. I thought it was all about doors.

So does that mean that they have to have 8 STACKS of potatoes/carrots? Or just 8 items?

That would be pretty neat if cursed items were permanently stuck in your inventory until you did something or other to purposefully remove them. Like real cursed items from DnD, etc.

A cool fortified village I made to go along with the village from one of my books. Surrounded by desert temples and other villages, with caves underneath. Enjoy. :)

posted a message on The Hobo Challenge

Similar to what I call my 'nomad' games.

Sometimes, my girl and I play a game where we don't acquire a bunch of stuff, and we don't build any houses. We eventually just acquire the gear we need to survive and work on the move (crafting table, furnace, wood, stone, dirt, torches, coal, food, tools, a bed), travel all day, and hole up for the night. At night we either sleep and keep going, or cook up all of the ore/food we collected over the day, or maybe do some mining, then move on.

It's pretty fun. We also tend to stop at villages for a while--might stay there a few days before moving on again.
