    posted a message on Thaumcraft 6.1.BETA26 [no longer being developed]
    Hey, Azanor, I just had a great idea for something you could add to your mod. My idea is something called the thaumonic engine. It would be a buildcraft engine that produces more or less MJ/t depending on the number of nodes you place around it, maxing out at 16 MJ/t (16 nodes). I think this would be a great way to get people to use thaumcraft as more of a main mod in the FTB packs because it would allow them to use it for more than just magic. You could obviously make the engine more or less powerful if you wanted to, but this is just an idea. By the way, yes, it would release some flux while in use.

    Since those features are actually really cool sounding, SOMEONE MAKE THESE FEATURES INTO A MOD! I would do ti myself if I was advanced enough at modding.

    Where are you skiing at? I live next to three resorts maybe you can come stop by my house and help me with modding xD

    package net.minecraft.src;

    public class mod_myFirstBlock extends BaseMod
    {
    public static final Block test = new Block(160,
    Material.ground).setUnlocalizedName("myFirstBlock").setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabBlock);

    public String getVersion()
    {
    return null;
    }

    public void load()
    {
    ModLoader.registerBlock(myFirstBlock);
    ModLoader.addName(myFirstBlock, "myFirstBlock");
    }
    }

    I get errors on lines:

    6 (The Method setUnlocalizedName is undefined for the type Block)

    15 (myFirstBlock cannot be resolved to a variable)

    16 (myFirstBlock cannot be resolved to a variable)

    1: Use getIndirectPowerOutput instead of setUnlocalizedName
    2: For both of the bottom errors, you named your block test in the public static final, so it has to be registerBlock(test) and addName(test, "myFirstBlock)

    So .getIndirectPowerOutput("RubyOre") is the script for entering a texture.
    RubyOre or whatever u type in would be the name of the texture file.
    Since 1.5, you must make a 16X16 pic texture of RubyOre, and place it in
    the .minecraft jar, in the textures folder, in the Blocks folder
    :D Hope it works!
    I have been modding with this mod since 1.3, I'm not an idiot. For some reason that code won't show my texture.

    EDIT-
    Thank god I finally figured out my problem! I looked in the console after running the game and realized that the blocks go in textures/blocks, not texture/items. I feel like an idiot now.

    My other post wasn't responded to, so I'll post it again. I changed my public static final Block to this because setUnlocalizedName wouldn't work:
    public static final Block rubyBlock = new BlockRubyOre(199, 0).getIndirectPowerOutput("Ruby Ore").setHardness(10F).setResistance(150F).setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabBlock);
    But the texture still won't show up. How do I fix it?

    read the note at the top of my tutorials
    I switched it to this:
    public static final Block rubyBlock = new BlockRubyOre(199, 0).getIndirectPowerOutput("Ruby Ore").setHardness(10F).setResistance(150F).setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabBlock);
    But it still won't show a texture. Did I leave something out? At least now it says its own name instead of the name of one of my other ores.

    For some reason I get errors when I try to add the setUnlocalizedName("name") code to my block. Here's the exact code:

    public static final Block rubyBlock = new BlockRubyOre(199, 0).setUnlocalizedName("test").setHardness(10F).setResistance(150F).setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabBlock);
    The error is on setUnlocalizedName.
    Here's my BlockRubyOre code:
    package net.minecraft.src;
    import java.util.Random;
    public class BlockRubyOre extends Block
    {
        protected BlockRubyOre(int i, int j)
        {
    	    super(i, Material.iron);
        }
        public int idDropped(int par1, Random par2Random, int par3)
        {
    		    return mod_MinecraftPlus.ruby.itemID;
        }
        public int quantityDropped(Random random)
        {
    	    return 1;
        }
        public String Version()
        {
    	    return "1.5.1";
        }
    }
    Any ideas on how to fix it?

    I have a mod that is made using modloader. I tried updating it to 1.5.1 earlier today, but I have a ton of errors on code that has never had errors before. I know minecraft code changed a bit in the update, but some of it is modloader code I think. There are errors on the tags:
    blockIndexInTexture, addOverride, and setBlockName. I have tried making new MCP folders many times with the same result each time. Does anyone know what's wrong?

    Hey Jbond, sweet tutorial. I have a question about the achievements. I want to make it so that when I kill my mob, it will give an achievement. I'm not sure how to manipulate the code to make it do that. Also, I tried to make the achievement only available after getting the Time to Strike! achievement, but I got this error:
    Cannot reference a field before it is defined
    And yes, I did make the static for the achievement. If you could help me, I would be very thankful.

    Hey

    Ive been modding for a while now and wondered if there is any way to make an item - bigger.
    i want to make an item like 8x32 so a long item but cant figure out how - if you could help that would be great

    Thanks
    You have to make a model of it if you want it bigger than 16x16. Use techne for it.

    When I click the decompile.bat command prompt pops up and says "The system could not find the path specified". Any idea where I might have gone wrong?
    You have to actually set a java path. Find SCMowns2 on youtube, he shows how to do it.

    When I tried to make a biome, i got no errors but I haven't found it after looking around for over fifteen minutes. How can I get it to spawn more often? Here's my code:
    package net.minecraft.src;
    public class BiomeGenOres extends BiomeGenBase
    {
    public BiomeGenOres(int par1)
    {
    super(par1);
    spawnableCreatureList.clear();
    spawnableWaterCreatureList.clear();
    this.spawnableMonsterList.add(new SpawnListEntry(EntityDevil.class, 8, 4, 8));
    topBlock = (byte)Block.blockSteel.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)Block.blockGold.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)Block.blockLapis.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)Block.blockDiamond.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)mod_MoSwords.rubyBlock.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)mod_MoSwords.netherBlock.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)Block.blockEmerald.blockID;
    }
    }

    I'm doing a biome but i want to add my own blocks and i get an error

    package net.minecraft.src;
    public class BiomeGenMossBiome extends BiomeGenBase
    {
    public BiomeGenMossBiome(int par1)
    {
    super(par1);
    spawnableCreatureList.clear();
    topBlock = (byte)mossyDirt.blockID;
    fillerBlock = (byte)mossyStone.blockID;
    theBiomeDecorator.treesPerChunk = 0;
    theBiomeDecorator.flowersPerChunk = 0;
    theBiomeDecorator.grassPerChunk = 0;
    theBiomeDecorator.mushroomsPerChunk = 12;
    }
    }

    the error is in mossyDirt and in mossyStone
    To fix that, in front of your items that are from your mod put you mods name. My mod is called Mo' Swords and say i want to put in my ruby ore, I would put
    topBlock = (byte)mod_MoSwords.rubyBlock.blockID;
    Hope this helped

    I don't think so, try raising your counter variable or the height limit.
    I changed the height limit and managed to find it. Thanks for the help.

    I am trying to use the nether ore generation code in 1.4.2. I got no errors but I haven't been able to find my ore. Did the code change? All the other coding I had still works.
