Couldn't you even apply this to potions? If you use a projectile potion, that makes particles too, right? I'm not sure what you might use it for, but you should be able to use that same concept to send a redstone signal when you throw a potion on the ground near it.

    sacrificial potion? ME GUSTA :iapprove:

posted a message on 3x3x5 vertical BUD switch
hey there, i had been messing around with pistons, and found this little bud switch that isn't affected by the S/W rule (i dont think that they are anyway?)so this could make redstone more compact, however one side is occupied by a torch, so you only get 4 sides to work with...
it's only 3x3x5 (excluding input) and i tried running an MC forums search with "3x3x5 vertical bud" and got nothing, so this could possibly be new...
    proof here

map seems to be very well built (except for a little manual troubleshooting w/redstone at the start) and open to great interpretation and creativity. one has many options with how to build/find shelter (*cough*here*cough*) has has pretty good challenges for an open-world style survival map.
i should be playing this for a while......stupid lava...

    Quote from KrloOs

    what an idiot...
anyway, I also have windows developer preview (win 8) and i can play anything
the thing is you need to update your video drivers, also remember to install java JRE 7 (x32 or x64 depending on your system)

normally running windows update fixes the issue with the video drivers

thank you for your help, i thought it was a problem with the build itself, but alas, i was wrong.

thats what you get for upgrading to a beta OS.

they said there would be bugs, faster to find bugs, faster to get bugs solved.

ok so my starting OS was windows 7, but i had decided to download the windows 8 dev. preview....but after installing, i loaded up minecraft, and got an error message..
          Bad video card drivers!
          -----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

i don't know enough java to understand this (i dont code much ok!) but as you ca see at the top of the error, it states that the build has changed the accelerated openGL mode, (causing a change in the graphics driver?) so i cant run minecraft anymore in this build untill i solve this...

just a warning to the community.
