I have wanted to switch to Google+ since Facebook became nothing more than a pool of "Like-whores" and a church, but literally nobody I know uses Google+ so I'm kinda stuck on Facebook for the time being.

Well, once when I was 6, I was shopping with my mother and saw some peaches. I grabbed them, put them in my pocket, and waited until I had the chance to ask my mom if we could buy it. But I forgot about it until we got home so technically, im a badass.

TheRacker posted a message on A Proposal - Japanese Culture
Why does everyone assume Japan is the coolest place ever? As if the US or Europe is boring somehow. I personally hate Japanese culture, I think its weird, annoying, and just trying too hard to be different. Plus I read that if you actually go to Japan, the people are fairly boring and normal, and will treat you like a total outsider. You can't fit in. And stupid videos like the one above aren't what all of japan is like, It's just the weird stuff that gets its way over here and we automatically take as a representation of all of Japan.

Freedom ended a long time ago

Yes. I completely agree! It's not like we have:

    Freedom of speech
    Freedom of religion
Freedom to buy and sell what we wish
Freedom to visit where we wish
    Freedom to move freely
    Freedom to disagree
    Freedom to vote

I mean, this is America! It'd be unheard of here!

Machiavel posted a message on Abortion
The fact that we can even debate about abortion is, in my opinion, one of the best arguments for its legalization.

Abortion occupies a startlingly grey area as far as discussion goes: despite the best efforts of both sides, the issue remains far from solved and is indeed still very controversial -and to no wonder, given how difficult a situation this is.

It's an incredibly complicated, multifaceted and irregular issue; the factors surrounding any one woman's choice to abort her unborn fetus remain so varied, so personal, and so unbelievably complex that to try and decide for her, from an outside and disconnected position like that of the law, is to become foolish.

This is clearly something which needs to be taken case-by-case and not as a whole; it's a nuanced issue which should be handled by those who are most affected by it, namely the parents and their family -not a bureaucrat or a politician trying to enforce some abstract moral principle on others.

    Quote from Borkefer

I find it sad that we elected a idiot liar who clearly doesnt know anything about our economy,

    And yet improved it dramatically.

His stimulus package passed in February of 2009. After that, things started improving. If you'll look at this NASDAQ chart and zoom out to the five year view, you'll notice that the stock market started improving right at the beginning of 2009.

Then look at the unemployment rate. Notice that a few months after the stimulus passed, the unemployment rate started going down dramatically, completely reversing itself.

You want to return to the Bush policies that started this mess in the first place? Who doesn't know anything about the economy again?

    Quote from Borkefer

who panders to the hispanic vote by granting amnesty to ILLEGAL immigrants,

He's actually deporting record numbers of immigrants.

Which is kind of sad. "Illegal immigrants", as you put it, have no less of a right to be in America just because they were born somewhere else. It's just our own arbitrary cultural restrictions that make that rule. Just because you were born on the other side of an imaginary line does not mean you are somehow less worthy of living in America.

    Quote from Borkefer

adding 6 trillion in debt burying every generation in debt that could have been solved much easier. There have been two big spenders in 12 years and soon to be 16, Obama and Bush. Sad to think 12 years ago our debt could have been easily solved but then we elected two idiots with big agendas to which both were harmful to our country. If you think about, presidencies have become less about trying to lower the debt and more about electing the person who will spend slower.

I'll give you that Bush was bad. But Obama was rather excellent. After accounting for inflation, Obama decreased spending. Not by much, no. But when you compare him to other presidents, he is the best spender in 60 years. That's a pretty good number. No, he didn't decrease the debt by any substantial amount. But he decreased spending better than any president in the last 60 years. In the midst of a recession, in which the he had to spend money to get out of.

    Quote from Borkefer

Mitt Romney is an idiot too but after four years of Obama I was ready for a real change and that meant getting rid of Obama but clearly America wanted more spending, more immigration and more taxes.

More taxes? No. More immigration? Why is that a bad thing? More spending? Nope, actually less.
