    Hello everyone. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post and showing an interest on making a server with me. =3 If you have a skype and are on my contacts list I have sent out a mass message letting everyone know that I have decided on what type of server it shall be but for those who don't have a skype or haven't given one I have chosen based on popular demand to create a vanilla server.

    The server should either be up tomorrow or the day after, depending on how things play out on my end. It is going to be whitelisted so if you still want to be on the server PM me letting me know or message me on skype.

    Rules for the server are as follows:
    1: no griefing - now pranks are fine so long as they do not cause damage to another players builds. If you do prank then the prank war rules shall apply; no TNT, no Lava, no Fire, Leave a sign. Griefing shall result in a permanent ban.
    2: no harassment - messing around is fine but try to be careful, don't offend anyone or insult them. I am going to be less strict on this rule because as of right now we don't know each other to well and don't know what ticks the other off. As a general rule of thumb try to be respectful.
    3: no racism - Although this goes along with harassment it should be pointed out that we are a large variety of people from all over so try to be respectful of another culture and heritage.
    4: have fun - I shouldn't have to say this one. =P Just enjoy playing on the server with everyone else. I would like everyone to get together and work on builds and such but that's not mandatory. I want everyone just to play the game and get to know everyone else.

    Wow.. I wasn't expecting this many replies! Thank you for showing your interests in joining. I am currently reviewing the applications and will get back to each of you personally, I have added your skype if you provided one or accepted your request if you sent one.

    Now for the server my only question for you all is, what type of server would you want to play on? A vanilla, bukkit, Feed The Beast/tekkit, creative or what have you. If there are multiple popular choices I can look into setting up multiple servers, although the max would be 3 servers.

    As for me I am a little known youtuber who is looking to start an LP series so I would personally love to play a survival based server and my preference would either be Feed The Beast/tekkit or Vanilla but that is just my little input. I want a group of players who would enjoy playing on this server so I want you all to give me your own opinions.

    ___________*EDIT*_____________

    Hello everyone I am currently looking for a few good people to start up a server with, I can provide the financial funding for it if needs be.

    For the server I would prefer it to be a vanilla survival server. There are not many prerequisites but one thing is that I play with friends, so if I do get the server up to join you have to be friendly and respectable.

    Just as a formality and a way to get to know anyone interested please just fill this out, although not all sections are required, just give me an idea of yourself:

    Name :
    Age :
    skype :
    IGN(In Game Name) :
    history with Minecraft :
    Proudest achievements in Minecraft :
    How often you think you would be on the server :
    A little about yourself :

    Thank you for reading this post. If anyone is interested you can reply to this or you can add my skype; shrtstff69

    As for me, here is my form filled out.

    Name : Justin
    Age : 20
    skype : shrtstff69
    IGN(In Game Name) : shrtstff69
    history with Minecraft : I started playing Minecraft just over a year ago and I have loved it the entire time. I started out doing redstone creations, trying to build a computer and such but then I took a slight break for a couple months. When I came back I started messing with building for the first time but still stuck to my redstone roots. After a while I have almost entirely switched over to survival and creative building (if I feel inspired).
    Proudest achievements in Minecraft : For me my proudest moments would have to be the first working lottery machine I built, then the wireless radio (although I was never able to finish it) and then my advanced combo lock. Now-a-days it would more so have to be what I have built in my SSP world.
    How often you think you would be on the server :
    A little about yourself : I am a 20 year old guy who spends all his free time on the computer. I am a nerd and proud of it. I am usually playing Minecraft when I am on the computer and recently been messing with the Feed The Beast mod pack. I am quiet around people new to me but I can get very loud mouthed around friends. I like to have fun and mess around a lot.

    Good evening everybody, shrtstff here and I have good news.

    I will be starting several minecraft series and LP's, the primary focus i think will be mostly on the multiplayer LP though so this I will try to post up on this and keep everyone up to day on it.

    The server currently just consist of me and my best friend and we have two very different play style but I am planning on adding more LPers as the series continues as I meet more people.

    The channel will be https://www.youtube.com/user/shrtstffLP

    I will be doing more then just minecraft videos though.

    Oh i see what you mean, but you still got your math wrong. you did 2^n^3. where n = the bits. this is not right since you only have a 8 bit decoder 3 times, not a 8 bit decoder 8 times. really the possible combinations is 2^n*3 witch in your case gives 2^8*3 = 768 possible combinations. :P

    EDIT:

    here is what i mean:

    00 01 10 11 = 4 combinations then decode it 3 times... 4*3 = 12

    NOT:

    00 01 10 11 = 4 combinations. decode it 3 times equal:

    000000 000001 000010 000011... etc = 2^6 =64. THIS IS WRONG

    no you still seem to not get it, i have entered in and tested many of the combos for the smaller U/I's my math is correct. for an 8 bit interface it is 24 bit lock which is 16777216 or 11111111111111111111111 in binary +1 when converting, all i did was made it easy for you to enter in large amounts of bits in a small(ish) interface.

    you are correct about 2 = 64 wrong though, it is actually half that, i may have missed that when i was correcting my draft of this post.

    posted a message on Easily programmable, compact Decoder (tilable)
    Greetings everyone, justin here with another redstone device

    This time i have a compact, programmable decoder. Each bit of the decoder is 2 wide, 11 tall and 15 deep. this device is also tilable with only a movement of a piston (zigzag pattern)

    Each bit is dependent of itself making this design extremely modular and thus easy to program and this design comes with an extra feature (which made it 3 taller) of enabling and disabling the program mode.

    Tired of the text yet? well then here's some pictures.. with text above it =D

    If you wish to have a control room for the decoder, here is what it might look like. also the bottom left light is on, indicating that code entered was correct for the decoder.

    Here are some pictures from the sides, the top, and back

    Here are some pictures of a single bit separated.

    And here are the pistons you have to move back and forth of each other to make this design tillable

    And here are some pictures of me operating the device.

    The light in the top of the picture, with the button under it, when on it indicates that program mode has been. enabled.

    Then I head over to the right of the control panel and press the "reset" button. This resets the binary value of the decoder to 0000.

    Once my code is reset all I do to program it is press the buttons above the bits input I want to set to a binary value of 1.

    And now my Decoder is programed, all I do now is disable programming mode and it is ready to use. And as you can see I entered my new code in using the leavers as my input and it was correct, indicated by the bottom left light turning on.

    And that is how to use this Decoder.

    once again if you want to expand, these are the pistons you need to move (and the pattern in which you move them) to make the design tillable.

    There will be a video of this up soon

    If you want a world download up, just ask and I will put one up.

    If you want a tutorial on how to build this, just ask and I will have one up ASAP.

    I would give advice but i've been so long out of redstone that all my devices are out of date. looks nice though.

    If you could give a more in depth description of the computer I may be able to help, but no guarantees.

    How can one bit be decode a bit 3 times when it only have 2 different values, 0 or 1. The definition of a bit is a value that only holds 0 or 1. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit]

    you dont decode the signal 3 times at once, you cycle through the decoders, which is what made this design extremely compact. All i really did was stack 3 locks on top of each other. In my OP i said that i decoded 16 bits into 3 bits, this is done with the 3 decoders which make the three parts of an AND gate.

    how does 1 bit give you 8 combinations? 1 bit has 2 states, 1 or 0. that gives 2 combinations, 2 bit gives 2^2 combinations, 3 bit gives 2^3 combinations and so on, 16 bit then gives a little over 65.000 combinations.

    because by using my method of encoding/ decoding 1 bit is decoded 3 times, making this whole thing essentially a 48 bit lock. three states of decoding, so every bit, 1 through 16, gets an additional ^3, so you are correct, 2^3=8 thus 1 bit input equals 8 possible combos.

    and by taking 48 bits you will get approximately 281 trillion combinations. or more precisely 281474976710656 (just done using a calculator with the equation 2^48)

    posted a message on Compact Arrow lock (expandable up to and over 281 Trillion combinations)
    Good evening everyone, Justin here from NerdyMC with a Combo lock.

    This combo lock is extremely compact for how many combinations it can have, which in reality is only limited by chunks being loaded since this design is easily expanded

    This lock can be programmed to use from a 1bit U/I to 40 bit U/I using short render distance.

    This does not require a bow and arrow to be used as the input method, but I was messing around in the new snapshot and with how bows now interact with pressure plates properly now.

    This current model uses three codes to open the door.

    Alright now onto the lock itself.

    What makes it capable of being so compact is due to two separate contraptions,one being the decoder and the other being the sequential "selector." All that is, is cubehamsters sequential counter with a "highest value detector" attached to it. Or better explained as two NOT gates on each output, with the first NOT gate inputing to the previous values second NOT gate.

    To change the code all you have to do is go to the decoder and change the torches out from either on to inverted or inverted to on

    Bored of all the text yet? well you are in luck then,for here are some pictures:

    Here is the view from the front

    A view of the sequential counter

    And a shot of the decoder

    Lastly here is a good view of the memory unit

    Time for a little tech talk, YAY!! =D

    The model shown uses an 8-bit U/I which allows for exactly 16,777,216 combinations

    When activated the lock switches to the first bit of the 3 bit decoder, where -upon it will check if all 8 inputs are entered correctly. Then when you press the "next/save" button it will save the input for the first decoder and and access the second decoder, after you input your code you press the button one more time and enter in your third code.

    if you enter the code correctly the doors will open.Once in all you have to do is press the "close/open door" button and it will shut the door and clear the memory unit for next use.

    If you entered in the code incorrectly then you must press the "next/save" button once more, where it will erase any entered codes and cycle back off.

    In order to avoid a mistake by the user a code recognition feature has been added. It will only detect if the you entered can be used, but it wont tell you if you have it in the right decoder.

    As for how many combinations there are for each bit added to the U/I..

    1 = 8
    2 = 32
    3 = 256
    4 = 4,096
    5 = 32,768
    6 = 262,144
    7 = 2,097,152
    8 = 16,777,216
    9 = 134,217,728
    10 = 1,073,741,824
    11 = 8,589,934,592
    12 = 68,719,476,736
    13 = 549,755,813,888
    14 = 4,398,046,511,104
    15 = 35,184,372,088,832
    16 = 281,474,976,710,656

    Video?

    Will be up shortly

    world download

    http://www.mediafire...8ob2d2sgkfq01kr

    I may have gotten some of the math wrong, if so please correct me.
