I've finished all my other work, and it is time to get working on this mod again! My current plans for the near future are making new buildings to add to villages!
Hi again.
More buildings is awesome.
Are you going to read the buildings from a "source building" type folder so buildings can be added/removed without modifying the mod?
Have you figured out how to make villages generate bigger and with more well place roads, more buildings?
If you can figure out the actual generation functions it would be nice to have a config option for min/max village sizes.
Also, and this one is not easy, elevated roads perhaps? Like in mountains/jungle/mesa?
Buildings:
Jail. Has a random spawner in a cell to spawn mobs inside the jail.
Barn/Stable spawns animals?
Great work! Very nice seeing the original idea expanding and being revised. Now with a proper forge update the continued expansion of the mod will be "easier" to maintain, hopefully.
The simple nature of the mod is what I like best. Having a mod that does one thing, and does it well, is refreshing. I wish you luck in adding new custom buildings, roads, and any secret features you might have in the future.
Thank you for continuing to support and expand the project.
Most importantly, thank you for making this your own mod now. New ideas, new vision.

While I honestly don't care about forge, I respect your choce to not update anymore. If you would realease source code to me, I could contiune, as I know this kind of thing.
Source code has always been available. It is in the main op near the bottom.
hmm. something goofy is going on with the forum editor, here is a new link
Updated the map again. More cosmetic changes, mainly.
I added about 6-8 villagers back into the map. They should breed. Iron golems are already spawning.
I also made it Day only. This should make the map even easier for those that wish to build and change the island, without as much worry about the zombies taking over.
I would like some feedback from anyone who has downloaded and tried the map, if possible.
Example: Do you spawn in the main starting house? Do you respawn in the main starting house after death? Any wools that seem too hard to find? Should Day only mode be used, or set it back to normal?
Remember this map is intended to be fun. And intended for a younger audience. (Or those that hate hard CTM maps.)
*Update to map - August, 10th, 2013*
More cosmetic changes. Villagers are back. There are about 6-8 and should breed.
Also, always day has been activated to make it even easier.
This is a very simple CTM map designed to be easy, and quick.
It features the basic "Complete the Monument" of 16 colored wool hidden around the map.
The map is a simple island, based on the seed "punchwood.com", with tweaks.
Rules:
#1 Don't cheat.
Objective:
Find all 16 colored wool and complete the monument any way you see fit.
Important Information:
#1 You do NOTneed to goto the Nether.
#2 You do NOT need to goto the End.
#3 Almost all wools are found above ground in buildings.
#4 One wool color is in plain sight, and can be found in a chest.
Other Information:
#1 This map is designed to be easy.
#2 The map design is intended to be fun.
What's NOT in the map:
#1 No command blocks.
#2 No custom spawners.
#3 No custom loot.
#4 No Death Traps
#5 No redstone contraptions.
#6 No Vines.
#7 No cave spiders.
#8 No Pre-Loaded TNT.
#9 No cheaty sand or gravel.
#10 No Ghasts, Blazes, or Wither Skeletons.
#11 No Witches.
#12 No Evil Dinnerbone.
#13 Not Vechs Approved.
What IS in the map:
#1 Fun
#2 Crazy villagers.
#3 Easy to find loot, perfect for speed run challenges.
#4 A survival island type atmosphere.
#5 Always Day.
So... If you've had enough of Vechs or Amlups insane maps, try this one. You'll smile.
Ok, the map should be played in version 1.6.2 of minecraft. It is intended to play on at least easy, but that is your choice.
For speed runners here are some challenges:
#1 Complete the monument without crafting anything. On Hard of course.
#2 Complete the moument on Hard mode. And set /gamerule naturalRegeneration=false.
Thanks,
Shortwind
P.S. The Forest Villages are from a modified version of my mod "More Village Biomes"
Please report any issues you have with the map.
Should I add the [Deaths] sidebar thingy?
Do I need to add the "/gamerule naturalRegeneration=false" to a command block?
Any suggestions? Is the map too easy? Is it too hard for the intended audience?
Love the work! I hope everything is well in your world and life is good.
EDIT : As has been noted in previous posts, many peeps (myself included) are hanging for a 1.5.2 version of this incredibly brilliant Mod. Are you working on 1.5.2, or are you working on the 1.6.1 release? I myself can see the benefit of waiting, but I have noticed that another modder has appeared on http://modlist.mcf.l...t/1.5/1.5.2.php with a similar idea. see post above
I have been a big fan of M.V.B. since discovering its existence, and I don't think I could play MC without M.V.B. and still enjoy it.
If I were permitted to suggest a single change, it would be for the player to have a choice of the base building material of buildings and roads for each Biome via a Config file.
It would be a very sad day for me (and others too, I should think) if you where to quit updating, as I had hoped that you, and all the other Modders out there, would be able to continue on until Dinnerbone (or one of his smurfs) gets the whole ModAPI system sorted out.
That said, your destiny is a leaf in the wind, and life is TOO short to worry about which way the wind blows.
Kindest Regards,
Liby.
Thanks for that. A lot of people like the mod, and there have been a lot of really great ideas presented for expanding it further. Unfortunately, as I have hopefully stated before, I don't really have the time to do most of the suggested requests. I have kept the mod as simple as possible in the hopes that others will take the idea and expand on it further. **Hint Mojang**
Anywho, I will do my best to keep up with minecraft updates as best as I can. Until someone with "real" experience and a "well formed plan" takes up the idea to expand villages we will have to just be satisfied with what I have created... I guess.
This mod looks really awesome and i have downloaded it but i cant seem to find any villages at all. I downloaded the extreme villages. Anyone know what the problem might be?
Thanks

Not by me. Sorry.
Sorry, no Forge, ever. Unless someone else makes it compatible.
Sorry, no.

Did you download the 1.5.2 version (with or without forge????)????? It works fine. You did something wrong.

Removed all the villagers for now because of lag, and there were far to many.
Have fun finding the wools, and reshaping the village to your needs.

For forge users, I'm waiting on a reply from someone special. More news when I have it.
