    I dunno.
Every texturepack made before this snapshot will, in effect, be broken. But on the other hand, there is an even better idea, the idea that now, instead of the whole set of block textures or item sprites being one single size, thatevery individial texture can no have it's own size, animation, etc. which is great because now you can make texture packs where the grass is animated to look like it's being blown by the wind, of torches whose flames flicker in the wind, of soul sand that has a texture that makes the faces scroll like that scrolly face texture you see in Doom. The possibilities are infinite now, only time will tell what will happen and what innovations to the texture pack we will see now.

I tried your seed and it seems to work perfectly fine for me :/

Yeah it's weird, my minecraft will crash upon loading the world after I make it initially, but once I exit minecraft and log back in, and then go back into the world, it works fine, no crashes.

But the thing was that I wanted to generate a world exactly like my original minecraft world so I could restart my adventure once more, but the worlds that generate from the seed that I am using and the Beta world config doesn't generate the same world. Oh well.

Weird, when I went to make a world in beta using the seed -6733013345022016345 (Which is the seed for the first world I ever made, back in like beta 1.2) Minecraft crashes. But if I use a random seed, it doesn't seem to crash at all. And I was so hoping to ressurect my old minecraft world too.

EDIT: It crashes on startup of the world, but I can still go into the world after rebooting minecraft. Even weirder.

EDIT 2: Looks like it won't generate the same world if I remake the Alpha world, even using the beta generation. So there goes whatever hopes I had of remaking my old world so I can play it again. Oh well.

Man that would be epic. If mojang dosent add this i want to see people make a good space mod

Actually there was one such mod being worked on called the subspace mod, but the creator kind of stopped responding to the thread and the thread is slowly dying.

Bascially the mod was gonna let the player go into space itself outside the Earth, like floating around and not on the planet, and build stuff like space stations.

It's too bad, because I really wanted to see that mod finished, but the creator just dissapeared into thin air.

posted a message on Lawsuit Filed Against Mojang - This Time, For Obscure Patent
I found this little snippet of info on the Patent Troll page of Wikipedia.

An individual case often begins with a perfunctory infringement complaint,[21] or even a mere threat of suit, which is often enough to encourage settlement for the nuisance or "threat value" of the suit by purchasing a license to the patent. In the United States, suits are often brought in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, known for favoring plaintiffs and for expertise in patent suits.[36]

Basically, they have the cards in their favor since they are based in Texas. And since Texas courts favor the plaintiffs and not the defendants, I do not know how Mojang is gonna win this one.

Their method is simple: Base your business in Texas, become patent troll. Sue anyone within your reach. Take every case to a single court that would overly favor you. Win every time.

It seems like they have almost already won. (Although I don't think we should give up, though.)

Edit: This wikipedia page is a good read though. Funny how I found it as one of the related links to the Ric Richardson page. Almost like it's trying to tell me something......

The height limit is for building only.
Your avatar itself can go as far up as you want. Infact, I have done so many times (using SSP commands, though.) And it gets kind of crazy when you get high enough from the ground.

while a bit of a "noob question" you may have a good idea.. a mod that gives you the option to keep your inventory after death.
Why not go suggest it on the mods section?

ACTUALLY, technically not a mod itself, but If you get Singleplayer commands and use the /keepitems cheat, you keep your items upon death.

NOTE TO ANYONE WHO IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MODLOADER WORKING:
Clear out your mod folder first. You might have some old mods in your mods folder that is causing Modloader to crash.

I repeat: CLEAR OUT ANY OLD MODS IN YOUR MINECRAFT FOLDER.

Thank you and have a nice day.
