    things to change:
    1. make a checkpoint in every room
    2.let the doors stay open(t-flip flop)
    I agree it about first one(but checkpoints are in two or three rooms. It mean you don't have to do 'everything' again.)
    Second one, I don't agree. Some doors are supposed to be closed in time.
    If you are saying door in first room, I think you are dealing with fake button;;

    gamerule:
    1.don't break or place block.

    2.set gamedifficulty peaceful.

    3.no cheating

    4.set brightness 'bright' (option)

    I have some idea of this; put two 'spawn egg'(cow, pig, chicken) at nether island chest.
    Then you can make more challenge such as 'make a cake' 'bake 10 porkchop' etc.

In the last update they added a new mob that was mostly taken from a pre existing mod, they Clay Blocks which don't serve any purpose except for slightly diverse look. And.... That's pretty much it... Oh and coal blocks.. Because how could we ever live without coal blocks.
    Just for that reason, mojang's idea was ran out more earlier. Trapdoor(beta 1.6) and Piston(beta 1.7) was pre existing mod, too.
