posted a message on Ruby ore in the nether! Laser guns!
Here are my 2 cents on the matter. I think the ideas you thought about it makes it too balanced - only 1/10 of an arrow? While only shooting every half second? I wouldn't get it, even if it was automatic. Ruby ore being even rarer than emerald ore is even worse.

The concept of it (to me) doesn't fit in with vanilla minecraft either - Minecraft is a game set in a time with very little electricity, and any tools can only be basic.

So in summary: the weapon is so balanced its not worth getting.

posted a message on Any Version/Profile of Forge Won't Launch :(
See how the mods all have a different number behind them? It means they only work on that version of minecraft.

It isn't possible to have one that works on 1.6.2 to work on 1.7.10, or 1.7.10 to work on 1.7.2. And if your using mods that are updated for 1.7.10, you gotta use forge for that update, preferably the latest one.

Also, next time you post a crash report, make sure you post it inside a spoiler. The code is below:

Downgrade your java to 1.7. Forge is very picky about which java version you use. To fixed that, navigate to where your java 1.7 javaw.exe is installed (should be something like 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_25\jre\bin\javaw.exe'. Then copy the location to where its found.

After you've found and copied it, open up your minecraft launcher and then, in the 'Java Settings (Advanced)', in the 'executable', paste over the original code.

    So in picture form:

Yeah, I was having trouble with that version of forge for some reason. Not sure why.

Anyway, downgrade your forge version to the recommended one (10.12.2.1121). Thats what I did and it works fine for me :)

It looks like it wasn't your minecraft, but it was the server you were trying to join. Is this true?

Or did a similar error happen when you were creating a single-player world?

Because if it is the former, I'm not sure how to fix this. Never happened to me.

posted a message on Pigmen mobs? Add more mystery to Minecraft?
Not really sure if I like the idea. On one hand, I do like some ideas about this: the idea that they setup a temporary structure is pretty good (if they use materials to make it), but on the other they sound just like iron golems, only they're weaker and they have to be attacked to be guards.

So I think they should have a bit more stuff with them, to make it worth the gold. How about after you give them a few eyes of ender and they'll lead you to a stronghold, but they never move more than 16 blocks from you. And maybe if'd be nice if they had a relationship (doesn't mean it has to be a good one) with Zombie Pigman would be nice as well.

posted a message on please help with some basic playing-on-server questions
    Quote from jancar66»
I have never played on a server, but I am looking to play a private game with my friends. I have started looking for a company to host my server, but I need some more information:

    1) When you sign up, you have to specify an amount of RAM. What does this affect? How much do I need? I am looking to play with 2-3 other people.

    2) Are there any hidden costs?

    3) Can players be on either Mac or PC?

    4) I would like to play with various mods. Does this affect how much RAM you need? Does this affect whether the game can be joined by people with a PC or Mac?

    5) If you want to install mods, does the hosting company do this for you?

    6) Do any/all of the servers have voice chat?

    7) When you sign up for a server, it looks like you get a URL and port number and you enter these into minecraft to sign in? Can games be password protected so that they are private?

    Thanks!

Why would you need to pay for that small amount of people? I'd say try port-forwarding your server or use Hamachi (although I don't recommend it, as it can lag your computer).

So if I were you, I'd try port-forwarding a server before trying either hamachi or buying a server from one of those companies.

Then I was playing on easy because I didn't know how to change to peaceful.

You're using 1.7.10. Downgrade it down to forge-1.7.2

And we're making an update to it, but its no-where near completion. So you're gonna have to wait a while.

I have no idea what happened to that signature of yours, but from what I can see, you've got a space between the first ']' and the '[img]'. Take the space out and see what happens.

EDIT: Oh, the spoiler code is easy.
