Make sure Minecraft is using the dedicated card. That card can for sure run it as the 840M can run shaders decently, and that's quite a bit under yours. Check to make sure any and all java.exe and javaw.exe executables on your computer are set to run using your dedicated card and not the integrated one. Most games have preset profiles that automatically use the dedicated card, however Java is not one of those and requires you to manually set it to use the dedicated card.
I'm guessing that's not the problem since I changed earlier.
And as of today, the fps got better which I don't know why. It's playable now, at 30-35 fps. I'm not sure it's the ideal though.
I'm not sure if it is normal or not, but I figured I might ask.
My laptop is not the latest in technology, but its not bad either, so I was wondering if maybe I could do something to get at least some 40 fps constantly.
I have a i7 4720
16gb ram
GTX 860m 4gb dedicated
Is it normal for mine to be somewhat steady at 15 fps? I just found it weird that even with low viewing distance it's still low fps, having in mind that I run games like Tomb Raider on ultra and get about 30 fps.

Also I just wanna point out how great this 10.2 version looks.
