    1. The majority of minecraft users don't post on this forum
    2. The majority of posters on this forum are part of the mojang defense force

So your "poll" will not prove anything and is over before it's even started.

    Quote from reverendgeneral

The problem is people like you who ignore the bugfixes and find one specific piece of new content that you can latch onto and call "game-breaking" or "fluff."

The mod API is coming in 1.4. That's been confirmed for months (in case anyone forgot), and that all you complainers continue to whine about it only proves your lack of credibility.

Apologists like you make me hate this forum. If only people like you were smart enough to see the nonsense you write.

You want to talk about "been confirmed for months" yet fail to understand that the mod api was also confirmed for months to be in 1.3 yet it's not. SMH

And mojang hasn't done jack about a lot of bugs. I wish there was only one bug, but there's a whole hell of a lot of bugs that continue being ignored. I'm sure you were one of the many "smart people" who said that 1.3 would be bug free and tried to insult people who were complaining about the snapshots. How did that work out?

    The problem isn't the "fluff".

The problem is that mojang keeps focusing on the "fluff" instead of fixing bugs and the mod api which we were supposed to get in 1.3 (in case anyone forgot).

posted a message on Beacon Range of Enchantment
    Quote from Obscene_Primate

Anyone else actually a bit disappointed by the limited range of this?

I can see it being very useful for small pvp engagements in a limited space, as you say, but for single player survival mode it'd be pretty much useless. For the amount of resources required, and to have any practical benefit, I'd want a survival mode beacon to cover most of a map.

Even then, I wonder what the cost in resources works out as in comparison to the actual number of resources on any given map-sized lump of world? I guess someone who knows about the world generation algorithms could tell us how many diamonds you'd expect to see in any given area?

forget the range. the cost alone is enough to make this a laughable idea. it's like paying a million dollars for a hotdog. If I build that gigantic pyramid of iron or gold or whatever i better get a super powerful ability that lasts until i die no matter how far i am.

Chock this up as another poorly thought out, quickly implemented idea from mojang who love to do that.

posted a message on Minecraft 1.3.1 update is a joke

Sorry if i'm mistaken. I was led to believe that we needed the merge for the Modding API to work?

No. The merge was done solely to make things "easier" for mojang when coding the game. That's it. (So far this ease has not led to a more optimized less buggy game)

The mod api isn't even necessary. The only reason Mojang is doing it is so they can have control over the mods run with the game. If they didn't obfuscate their code and change things up every update there would be no need for an api. The primary reason for it was because notch was planning to make money off of mods so he wanted an api to control everything and cash in. I think he's changed his mind since then, but who knows.

The funniest part of the joke is all the "smart people" who said that all the bugs would be fixed and didn't want people complaining about the snapshots.

Where are all those "smart people" now?

As long as you can't pick what you want enchanting will always suck. There is nothing more infuriating than wasting time, materials and xp on a crappy enchant you don't need.

posted a message on Why are jungle trees still broken?
Obviously there is something wrong with the code when they drop a significantly less amount of saplings then other trees on a consistent basis over many updates/versions - especially when they usually have more leaves than other trees.

    Stop being a fanboy.

posted a message on Why are jungle trees still broken?
I just chopped down 5 HUGE jungle trees and got only 1 sapling. I can chop down a small oak tree and get like 5.

Considering all Mojang has been doing is supposedly fixing bugs why isn't this fixed already? This bug has been around since forever.

    posted a message on trading=useless?
Trading isn't useless unless you can't find a village.

We should spawn next to villages otherwise this new feature is pointless.

    Quote from actronan

more of a suggestion than anything but i feel that they need to make villages more find able or increase the possibility of one generating so that you don't have to spend hours upon hours just to find a villager to trade with especially when it is easier to find a desert temple/ruin than it is to find a village when i went looking for one i found five of the desert temples and only a library and wheat field for a village

They should make it so that we always spawn next to a village or at least give us the option to.

    1.3 pre update:

    - animals are falling through the floor. I had a chicken in a rooftop pen and it's now inside the house.

    - The food glitch is still there only this time I got it eating a piece of bread. Instead of eating one bread it ate two even though I only ate one.

    - Also mobs won't go through a fence gate as easily anymore when luring them with wheat. They get stuck on the sides and won't enter.

    - Sometimes when an item falls I can't pick it up. It just floats there on the ground.

    12w30e bug

When you eat an apple it automatically eats another one making you lose 2 apples even though you only pressed the button long enough for one apple.

I like the feature, but placing logs now is now a pain in the butt. If you're not perfectly in the right position it will place the logs the wrong way and then you have to waste time breaking it again.

posted a message on 12w30e creeper detonating range
Yes creepers are detonating much farther now. Even when I run away they still blow up. This needs to be fixed.

Also the zombies start to glitch sometimes after you hit them. Instead of chasing you normally they start to walk really slow like if they were stuck in something. Spiders too sometimes, but not as often as the zombies.

It's kind of amazing how irrational fear-mongers can be.
"MOJANG HAS BEEN LYING TO US FOR YEARS! HOW DARE YOU TRUST THE EXPLAINATION OF SOMEONE WHO JUST STARTED WORKING A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THUS HASN'T MADE A SINGLE FALSE PROMISE!"

Yeah... Makes about as much sense as saying Notch is greedy for selling a game for only 20 Euros that has free updates and no DRM.

Seriously, some people are only happy when they can hate on what they love. At least in this case it is a game, and not their spouse.

    This is idiotic.

Do you think I want a buggy, laggy game? Of course I don't, but the FACT is that Mojang has yet to deliver. Minecraft has always had major bugs or performance issues of some kind and this merge only complicates those issues.

If they make the game bug and lag free then I will give them props, but until then I will be skeptical and point everyone towards their history.
