    The only way to fix enchanting is to completely remove the random aspect. Again, Mojang tried to do this with this update, but they didn't do enough.

    I should be able to say I want X enchant on my sword and I should be 100% guaranteed the ability to get exactly what I want with absolutley nothing I don't want on my first try. It's that simple. enough with the random garbage.

    If they want to make it challenging then that is fine, and there are ways to do that without grinding.

    1. Change the table recipe to a special enchanted book that you can only find in a dungeon or buy from a priest
    2. Get rid of lapis and use other materials based on the enchant you want. If you want fire aspect you need a bucket of lava. If you want blast protection you need tnt, etc
    3. Include a chance for failure if you don't offer enough xp

    And that is why any changes they make will always result in something bad. The core gameplay mechanic is broken so it doesn't matter what superficial changes they make.

    As long as they are bent on this idiotic roullette aspect for enchanting I'm afraid it will always be a frustration instead of a fun addition to the game. And they know the random aspect is bad because this "fix" was a move away from that, but not enough to properly fix the problem.

    Why are people complaining about stupid lapis? Lapis isn't the problem! The problem is that enchanting is still random and now on top of that we are FORCED to enchant stuff with crap enchants becuase we can't reset the table by removing the item. They are forcing us to waste xp, waste lapis and waste items for enchantments we don't want or need! What type of gameplay design is that?

    To make things worse they nerfed the anvil in an attempt to force us to use the crap enchanting system more than what we normally do. Renaming stuff has no purpose anymore and the tools you worked hard to make, fighting against the crap enchant system, don't last forever.

    There is no point in naming your tools since they are disposable. Why bother getting attached to some cool weapon you named and crafted when you are going to have to throw it away in a couple hours of use?

    It's like absolutely no thought was put into any of this and they just did random stuff and hoped that it would work out.

    And the enchantment tier thing is beyond stupid. Why am I being penalized by random crap that I have no control over? The game gives me a crap enchant that I don't need/want and I am forced to enchant something? BS. That is atrocious gameplay design.

    I like this change. It makes bodies of water more mysterious, and if you drop something in water you actually have to look for it instead of seeing it from a mile away.

    I think it should vary though, with swamps having the most opaque water (dirty) and other areas having cleaner more translucent water.

    Tried using a boat the other day and yeah the new controls suck hard. Not only that, but boats seem to accelerate faster now making it even worse. Whoever thought these controls were good at mojang needs to be prevented from ever touching a videogame's controls again.
