posted a message on Builder Looking For Server
Hello! As you could probably tell by the title I am a builder, and I am looking for a server. Some examples of my work are below.

    '

*Curtain Walls are largely NOT mine

*again I only ADDED to this particular castle

    etc.

    * I apologize for my small portfolio but a lot of my old stuff has been deleted.

Anyways, I'm looking for a server that's already somewhat established, OR if you're not at least have a plan and a good idea of where you want to go. since im FREE the amount of time and work I put in directly correlates to my interest in your project. However, I DO have another REAL BIG project with another group so I can't spend all of my time with you. (Although, it's slow going right now, so for at least a little while expect me on regularly)

I like to think that my style is neither ornate nor minimalistic. It's detailed to the point of fitting in to a larger, more epic creation and largely based on how I think a structure is put together. (I will, and do do research on structures are put together to make things look better/cooler/more realistic. My pleasure in MC is building castles, smaller fortifications, earthworks, trenches, etc. I also will do engineering projects, homes, fields, and dungeons. I generally work in worldedit, and have some worldpainter experience. My weaknesses include sometimes havingmoments while terraforming in WE, as well as building boats, and sometimes interiors.

You can get in touch with me by either posting here or PMing me. Thanks for taking a look at this and I hope to see ya soon, or if I don't good luck!

Alright guys, with our group and our ambitions growing, I think we've arrived at a spot where we must organize ourselves to a higher degree.

First of all we need a map, so let me submit an initial one:

The land doesn't have a name yet, and the nation in which Therim exists does not have a name. However, it is a step in the right direction in terms of identifying what needs building/terraforming. The two dots on the map are Therim and Ben's fortress (which I inconveniently have forgotten the name of :C), HOWEVER, If the community can accept it I intend for the distance between the two cities to be much larger than what is ingame. As well as the scaling of the environment in general.

Well, we'd better focus on one nation at a time at least (for now). So here's also a slightly more detailed (and teeny bit squished) map of the country that Therim resides in. Of which, I PRESUME it's the capitol.

I know that the image is a little blurry, so to list the names of the duchies/counties (depending on the eventually decided upon scaling of this map) in clockwise order starting with Therim are: Therim, Toth, Kuval, Altasti (Of which Ben's Fortress is presumably the capitol of), Vutesun, Nordrenst, and Felrentun. All based on the fact that we seem to have a heavy degree of western europe/germanic influence already in the map. Should we go forward with this, we'll need a huge amount of terraforming or external editing, and a lot of copy/pasting in WE. I've some ideas about the lore as well, but I'll keep that to myself until such a time where we are ready to start using that in game.

Next, like I said when all is said and done about the initial shape of the terrain of this map, we'll most likely have a ton of space to fill, and I think that what i'm about to suggest should hopefully keep people interested as it will allow them to pursue their own creations and styles (within certain boundaries of course). So, my proposal is this: As a group we will plan, build, and connect all cities and other landmarks together with roads (if applicable), but otherwise when anyone in the group, or group of people in the group wish to begin a build on their own (either a village, castle, or dungeon, etc.) they will be allowed to do so following a few things:

    You must provide:

    -Build location

    -Build type

-Palette (colors, blocks, etc. used in the build)

    -examples of palette in buildings

-and a plan of the build

After that, either an admin or a larger number of regular members must approve the build. Then you are free to start building. If two or more people wish to build in the same location, then whoever receives more votes (an admin's counting for more than a regular member's) will get the location. If a build is complete, and someone wishes to rebuild in that location then the decision will be left to an admin's discretion. (In the hopes of fairness, I hope these requests will not often be granted, but when an old build needs to be updated it NEEDS to be updated.) Similarly, if someone wishes to build a different type of build in the same location of a pre-existing build, that too, will be left to the discretion of an admin. (For reasons of fairness, but also lore consistency, we can't have locations changing every release.)

When approving builds, criteria would hopefully include (in addition to the quality of provided information listed above):

-Distance from another build (so as to not "crowd" the map)

-and Lore-friendly location (no unprotected villages outside an encampment of invading nords or castles in random locations, etc.)

Smaller builds, such as isolated houses, farms, taverns, old wells, etc. will just be approved by admins and senior members on the server, theres no need for a build application to be written just so you can build a fence somewhere :D.

Furthermore, in terms of large builds, such as cities, important castles, and indeed whole counties and other small political entities, as we get more members (not so much now, but when we've got 5-10+ people working in the same area or with the same style) we will most likely require build leaders, who plan and direct builds. Basically, they're normal builders who get the final say over entry level builders in areas they supervise. This is mostly to ensure the consistency in quality and style throughout a build area, as its quickly going to become impractical for the small amount of admins to sort though the entirety of a small continent.

Finally, if we ever REALLY want to reach our goals, we are a.) going to need a way to tryout new members, maybe it's me but i've noticed a few members who have joined and disappeared completely and b.) a place for members in general to meet. I.E. a steam-group, forum, or other social network.

That's my proposal for the future of this group and this project, peace out y'all, and as usual: Happy Building!

Good news everyone, ive finally figured out how to quick-plant large fields, so today the farms got a BIG update and should be done in a little while! No screens just yet!

For anyone new, or getting back on. Ive updated the to-do list at /warp map, please check it out and work on those builds. They're in dire need of finishing before our first release.

P.S. If you want to work on the farms, located behind the castle btw, please only plant in fields with completed walls (I.E. those that have low, stone walls that are 2-3 blocks thick.) Thank you!

Hello All! In an effort to show the community our progress and to start posting more frequently, i've decided to catalogue some of my recent projects!

First up, implementing a new field system! Before,we had very rectangular field, now things should be looking a little more organic! I haven't decided on a two or four field system yet, but either way I think they'll look excellent! Not to mention Schadenfreude, which I started work on (although never finished :I).

Also, the castle, which I've recently started renovating to give it some more verticality!

Next up, We have the financial district! As previously stated largely unfinished, I constructed one of the first buildings and what has become the district's lynch-pin: The Bank. I layed out some basic roads, but we have to fill it all in and add some mansions, and businesses!

So, hopefully that goes to show what we've been up to the last few weeks! Among other things to be sure!

    IGN: scoopdjm

    Age: 18

Experience (Minecraft): Veteran, i've been playing since Alpha and have picked up a few tricks of the trade!

    What I can offer:

    Strengths:
-Medium-Scale builds. So, castles, manors, small towns, etc.
-Exterior detail. I love castle walls, ports, towers, flags, etc!
-Cohesive. I like to think that one of my strengths is making sure my builds flow together, and that they're not out of place in the world around them (too much anyways!)

    Weaknesses:
-Interior/small detail. I struggle with realistically furnishing homes and decorating smaller spaces, not necessarily really bad, it just might take a couple of iterations before i'm "there".
-"Palette". not so much a weakness as me forgetting to switch to different types of materials during a build. I.E. i'll forget to mix stone types when building a decrepit tower, et al.

Photos of previous creations (MUST have a minimum of 1)*:

Why I would like to join: I love minecraft. Furthermore, I love building things that people will USE, a lot of people preferably. Really, I enjoy creating the experience, and that people will always come back to what I create. So, I want to join to be able to build for others!

    Timezone (in GMT): -5 (EST)

Preferred Means of Contact: Steam, Skype, TS, e-mail

    Referrer** : none, sorry!

Other: Unfortunately, due to my old external harddrive failing I have little work to show! This build is the most recent thing I've done, unfinished and built on a friends server, it's all i've got show off right now. If you wish to see more pictures of something else, or want to specify something else for me to build please let me know! Looking forward to hearing back!

I would agree that we should get rid of the nether. Is it that used?

however, there is rarely more than 40 people on I don't think it's necssary to drop the cap.
