Error is the same as merged or not merged.... so not sure lol.

It does say 'terrain,' right here:
No more empty terrain sprite indices left!
If it were an issue with item sprites, it would say 'no more empty item sprite indices' etc
ItemSpriteAPI fixes what its title indicates, and Forge requires modders to use special methods for saving terrain sprites. Sorry.
Dec 21, 2011Found the fix for the ReefMantas texture bug! Working out the last of the other bugs in ReefMantas before releasing it. Should be very soon, though.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Ok, So I merged SpriteAPI and Forge myself (really not that hard)...
Anyway, Before the merge it was saying something like 46 sprites left...
After the merge it says I have like 2387 left (which I assume means your mod "worked")
But when I go to add the mod that I was trying to install BEFORE your mod, it comes out with the same conclusion of running out of sprite indexes...
I tried without merging as well and withing the added mod everything loaded and worked fine except for the textures inside the inventory/TMI were buggy. And upon adding the extra mod I got a sprite error.
Second Edit: I tried making sure I merged correctly and did it all again, looks perfect... no fix yet though ;(
Well, unless it's saying 'no more empty terrain sprite indices,' (terrain, not item), then I'll try to help. Which mod are you trying to install?
Dec 21, 2011Still can't find the reason that Mantas won't appear... *sighs*Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Hopefully I'll get somewhere with it.

Wait, so this isn't a common error? I don't see it in the Common Errors thing. I thought it was...
Anyway, the config file for the Floating Islands mod doesn't generate, even after I see them in-game.
Most people probably weren't editing the config file, so they hadn't noticed. I have it functioning in v3.1.

Some people may still use it, maybe thinking it's better to be safe than sorry.

So, can you still use ItemSpriteAPI to remove the use of item sprites? Well, it doesn't matter that much since now it increases the amount of ItemSprites but I'm just wondering :?
Yep, it does. If I had removed that feature right now, any mods using ItemSpriteAPI would break until the mod maker updated. I'm uncertain whether or not to remove the "API" part of the mod in the next major-version update of Minecraft, since it still could be useful to some extent... *shrugs*
I will probably leave it in so the time that was taken coding the API part won't go to waste.

But at the top of the page it says scottools with forge compatibility and when i click it it says that its 1.0 compatible
PremiumWood still causes class file clashes with MCForge, although I'm uncertain whether or not these conflicts actually provokes a crash or simply removes features.

lol, item sprite api jsut broke my holding sprites while using hd
As it states in the OP, there isn't HD texture support, though it may be worked on and released in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience.

You're very welcome. :biggrin.gif:

I installed your BetterWinters mod, and I think it's great, but my snow layers are at random heights, and it looks terrible. If this is how it's supposed to look, tell me the .class file(s) that control this so I can delete them and replace them with clean, unmodified files. Thanks!
Most likely a bug. I thought I fixed this, but I'll update tonight if not. Sorry.

If I understand correctly, yes. It will resolve the issue behind the mod conflict.

Could you add something to Scot Tools API so that we can make enchantable items and weapons?
Check ToolMaterial.java. There is a variable in there that affects enchantability of the item.

scokeev9, suggestion. Modify ModLoader.class for ItemSprite API, so ALL THE MODS will use new spritesheets. Actually, I did that half a year ago, but as you have most of the stuff already done for current Minecraft, I'll just let you do it instead. I (and probably most of the modders) don't want to use yet another API, if it can be used automatically when installed.
Thank you for the suggestion! I've updated ItemSpriteAPI with this feature, allocating a total of 2560 item sprites.
Dec 20, 2011I accepted Shockah's challenge and have increased the item-sprite limit up to 2560 (which I believe should suffice). Enjoy!Posted in: Minecraft Mods
