I got banned for this. How exactly was i supposed to know my name would appear as 'Player 787'? On every other server it has appeared as Dgc2002, before i used persister.jar and logged back into this server it appeared as Dgc2002. So i got banned for something that is, as far as i aware, 100% out of my control?
People with a name like that appear to be people who are changing their names. Sorry, I'm not unbanning you just because you complained on the forum. Your ip will be unbanned when name verification comes out.
I'd like to put in my 2 cents that this is probably being hosted by sageofrage (the OP) whose last server thread got locked due to complaints of his server escelating into a flame war (viewtopic.php?f=1012&t=23300&hilit=sageofrage). PERSONALLY I would advise NOT to join this server. It is probably lag free but on his last server sageofrage would set fire with flint and blow up buildings with TNT after people had built something. He would kick any complainers - basically imagine an admin with total authority griefing. His last server was so bad it was the last straw in griefing that made me decide to make my OWN server (viewtopic.php?f=1012&t=23514).
tl;dr: OP is the admin and he griefs everyone.
I no longer have working TNT, nor flint and steel, I did use TNT before, but i never used flint and steel because it slows my computer.
Not lag free at all, very mediocre server, kicked for claiming to be lagging and saying that I have seen much better servers, admins think that this is "trolling". Wouldn't reccomend this server.
You were banned because you were doing nothing complaining, and if I let you stay you were just going to keep complaining, and eventually grief as you got more and more annoyed. Everyone else told you they had 0 lag, and you're on the other side of the world (you're in UK, the server's in US) and you're complaining that you have lag, of course you are going to have lag. Please examine the situation before complaining about it.

-Only take from deposits what you are going to use.
-Do not come on the server with any items.
-Use common sense, all common sense rules apply (no racism, griefing, all that stuff)
-Do not spam "CAN I HAZ DIS AND DAT AND DIS AND DAT", just ask for a deposit of iron and i'll probably make one (if i'm paying attention)

-pig spawners = instant ip ban (even if they're just in your hands, instant ip ban, no warning, no forgiveness)

-don't get upset when i take over a cave that's completely abandoned, if you're not using it, don't consider it yours.
I don't understand **** about his "white list" either.
First time i joined, sage putted everyone that was online by then to the whitelist.. me included.
Restarted a few times.
Half an hour later i re-join, with people telling me how the **** i get in. WHAT?
I was on his so-called whitelist for instance.. But he banned me for no reason.

Busy with raging about random abusive players joining servers people tend to forget, that server owners can be griefers and trolls too, significantly more powerful too.
And that's pretty much what the admin is.
If anyone enjoys being lorded over by a childish and abusive asshat, then this is the right server for them.

Seems this guy has no end to who he badmouths. He kept calling Notch inexperienced and was talking about how he wouldn't be able to code **** for SMP. He even said he ripped off Minecraft and kept calling Notch emo.

Didn't say notch was inexperienced, I said he has no idea what he's in for in regards to making everything work in multiplayer, notch openly admits he took the gameplay elements from infiminer, and you are skipping the important part of this fairytale where you spam joined my server after you were banned, thus spamming the chat. you are banned from the server, STOP JOINING
