i just made a server that all of my friends can hop onto just fine, except that i can't join them. i have two desktops connected to the same router, one of which is hosting the server, the other being my gaming computer. i can't access minecraft from my gaming computer, whether i use the dns domain, my ip, localhost, or 127.0.0.1. i can access it from the hosting computer just fine, but i prefer not to because that computer isn't exactly superb. how can i fix this?
reinstalled everything and i'm still getting the black screen of death...i went as far as to delete the whole .minecraft folder :tongue.gif:

the block to the left of the open chest is different than normal sand- it can't be a held item block because then, all of the other gui would be showing as well (hotbar, version). sooo uh sand pressure plate of some sort?
i've got to say, i'm disappointed that you didnt actually refine all of the blocks in the x16 and x32 versions (x64 is alright) because everything looks like horrid..i'd rather have an alright texture pack than an outstanding one like this, but only to be let down with i realize that everything is fuzzy and unfamiliar.
but really, hats off to you. i've already commented on this noting its superiority to other packs.
Noob. I doubt that is the issue, most people are smart enough to apply process of elimination to a technical problem.
you dont have to bash him..his solution seems like it'd work, and it's more simple, i don't see a need for any batches in this problem.
shelbums, are you on windows or mac? assuming you're on windows..
go to your search bar at Start (the bottom left corner)
search "run"
a small box will show up. in the dialogue, type "%appdata%"
a folder should pop up. click on the folder within it caleld ".minecraft"
in the /.minecraft folder, there should be a folder called "bin". right click and delete that.
now try running minecraft. it should reinstall and hopefully work
this is the fifth thread that i've seen dedicated to this issue (including my own). assuming we're suffering the same bug, here are some more specifics on the problem:
1. the browser version works fine, which means nothing in the .minecraft folders is suffering (i reinstalled that incase, to no avail)
2. reinstalling the launcher does nothing
3. reinstalling java (i tried both 32 bit and 64 bit) does nothing
4. this is incredibly infuriating

it's the weirdest thing..whenever i try logging in from the .exe, i get this http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc58/CO_dude/error.png error message..the version update feed doesnt load, either. minecraft still works perfectly in the browser version, but the weirdest part is that when i try both at the same time, i get teh 'unlicensed copy :sad.gif: you logged in from another location' message (im paraphrasing :tongue.gif:).
i trying reinstalling and all that jazz, thoughts? this happened out of the blue..i DID install java for 64 bit systems earlier but minecraft ran fine after that.
