Follow the tech support advice that every third world call centre gives. REBOOT!
Seriously, I don't know what you're running this server on, but whatever it is, if you reboot, the server will shut down.
I don't expect it to be free. I'm wondering if it's going to be more or less expensive than using Amazon web services free tier+spot requests for m1 (small) servers... Which usually works out to about 0.007$ per hour.
If you turn off the server at night, Amazon will most definitely cheaper. Amazon will probably still be cheaper either way. That's around $5 a month if you do a 24/7 server. (Mojang needs some profit.)
You sounded like a GREAT person for my server right up until the last paragraph.
I'd love to take you, but I live in Eastern Canada and we're nearly 12 hours apart. That doesn't work too well.
Is there any way for a person's reputation points to lower? (Other than the post where rep up was given being deleted.)
I find that it's quite strange how the max reputation rank is Excellent at 20, and cannot go down from there.
Why is there a thumbs up but no thumbs down? I know some times when I most definitely want to thumbs someone down.
You have full root control, and can setup as many plugins and slots as you want.
The Ultimate 10 TB Dedicated Server doesn't seem to make much profit for you. It seems like a great reseller machine if I were into that kind of hosting.
notch is such a cheap steak you pay $27 which is ALOT and now he wants to charge us like $10 a MONTH just so we can make server with a limit with probably 10 people thats really stupid.... BLEEP HIM I WAS SO EXCITED WELL NOT ANYMORE UNLESS IT BECOMES FREE
Yeah, well, you know that hosting a server costs money right? The $27 you initially paid supports all the developers in their ongoing bug fixes and new features. Hosting a server should cost them around $3 per Gb, but that's only for hardware. The noobs that don't know how to manage a server is what costs Mojang the most money. Customer Support. Humans cost a lot to maintain.
Go to the computer where you made your single player world.
In the address bar, type in %appdata% while in the user account you used to play Minecraft.
Click on .minecraft. (Or roaming, my %appdata% leads me to roaming by default.)
Click saves.
Rename the folder in there to world
Go to your server, delete the folder named world there.
Move the folder you renamed over to the server files.
Voila. Done.

(By the way, your lowest priced server is $2 as far as I can tell.)

Yes, but you need to purchase a domain name. Are you willing to do that? Reply to this post and I'll continue. (Generally costs around $10)

Oh, and I've applied for a staff position.
