Anyone think it's related to the database crash that took down the login servers from yesterday?

EDIT: Well, that was a very fast fix. Everything is good now.
EDIT2: And it's back down. Great.
EDIT3: And up again. Yay.
EDIT4: Now it's not officially down, but I get an error message saying
"Failed to verify username, session authentication server unavailable!"

Hmm, alright. But hosting a 3gb minecraft server long term for a one time payment of $5? I don't really see how he doesn't take a complete loss from that. (Other than the benefits in making people happy.)

The login servers are down as you can see from here.

The players that you see online are from people who logged in before the login servers went down.

Downgrading to Java 6 MAY work, but it also exposes you to many security vulnerabilities.

This entire post reeks with the scent of scam. If this is legitimate, then the host must be a very kind person that's willing to take a big loss.

Were you deleting the files while the server was running? I accidentally did that once.

The point of a free realm would be a professionally hosted server at no cost. This would allow someone to have a 24/7 MC server without leaving their computer on all night.
