First, I think you mean 256mb, because 256gb is... (nearly) impossible.
Secondly, you'll have a difficult time playing alone on the server with 256mb of ram, assuming that you're using craftbukkit.
Lastly, you have next to nothing to offer the company other than shoutouts which would be considered spam, and all that will achieve is a bad reputation for the company.
im hosting only one server with 2gb of ram for a payment of $24.99 a month!!. great quality and since im only hosting this one, you get my full attention. these servers can come with pre built maps that are insane.
payments through paypa!!!!!!!!
Here's some tips to successfully rent out your server. People would like to know more about the service that they're buying, try and include specifications for the CPU in the rig, so that people know the quality of the server. Something to avoid would be bad spelling and grammar. Some examples would be the missing apostrophe in the first word, and the period after the exclamation mark in the first sentence. Excessive exclamation marks should also be avoided. Another thing to do would be to capitalize the first letter in your sentences, but don't abuse capitals, like you did in the title. A method of direct communication to you like e-mail, Skype, or your website (if you have one) would also be beneficial in your attempt to rent out your server. Since you seem like you'd be quite dedicated to helping your client, some personal information about yourself may help increase your chances of finding a customer. Examples of useful personal information would be your age, time zone, and any experience that you've had operating Minecraft servers or servers in general. Overall, you have quite the room for improvement in your selling post, I hope that you take these tips into consideration and successfully rent out your server. You might also want to consider lowering the price a tad bit, since big brand name servers with 24/7 live support sell servers at $10 per gibibyte of ram. (No, I did not spell that wrong, it is gibibtyte.)
That is an interesting idea, sadly, the role of moderator really is just being a chat moderator. They don't perform anything at the administration level.
Sigh. Maybe you can create that level? A special rank just for me?
I guess I'll settle for Moderator and apply for Guard when that becomes available.
To add to my application specifically for Chat Moderator:
I believe that I would be a good chat moderator because of the illusion of maturity projected by my usually good grammar. I also type quite fast and that will allow me to quickly respond to players and provide the assistance they need.
I am not sure what a moderating beta tester is sadly. If you can explain that might allow me to judge it better.
Essentially, I want to be a Moderator and a Beta Tester.
During beta, I'll be a Beta Tester with more power and can actually fix the bugs I encounter without external help.
When server releases. I'll be like a normal Moderator.
Install OS from USB and cut the Optical Drive if you want to save a little more.
And if you want to boost CPU, don't use a hexacore. Minecraft = single thread. Use AMD FX-4170if you really want to boost CPU. 4.2 GHz. Lol.
I was recently DDOSed via a person I thought was a friend over the internet on my server. I want to not share my IP to my friends over the internet, so I'm wondering, is there a way that I can (without buying a server from someone else, as mine works) use a website or something else rather than my IP to allow friends to connect to my server?
You could participate in the DDoS protection program over at the Spigot forums. This requires payment, not for a server though. (Technically it is for a server, but not one for you to host on.)
What's your home internet connection speed?
The other specs look to be fine, but I don't have any knowledge in this type of thing. I know that the two dual cores would be fine, because Minecraft can only use one thread anyways. so that's good. The memory is more than enough for 4-5 servers of less than 20 people. SSD is obviously fine. Only issue seems to be connection speed.

Well, I've only played on a few servers, but that's because I'm usually quite dedicated to them, and see them to the end. I've played Minecraft for 2 years and also own a server. I'm obviously Owner on my own server, but I've also been Head Admin on a Prison Server, and "Mod" on another. It was technically Admin, but the owner was so cautious that he barely trusted anyone with anything. I was the only person of any staff rank on that server. It was small, around 10 players on at any one time, but we were a great community. Sorry, I was getting a little side tracked there. Just reminiscing.
My request to be a Moderating Beta Tester, is because I liked using cheat clients like Nodus (with permission from server owners) to find glitches and hacks that can be used to get out of the prison or other things like that. Simply being a regular beta tester that finds regular bugs sounds quite boring to me. I can also manage plugins if need be, because I own my own server and set everything up there.
To sum this all up, I'm quite dedicated to servers I play on, and love participating in the community. When I play Minecraft, I find myself in the chat more than half the time. I believe that these aspects make me a great Moderator. In addition, this server probably won't be released until closer to summer time, where I can practically spend all day on the server. Thank you for considering my application.
Umm, hey. Wanna you know, uhh, judge my application?
Hey use freedns.afraid.org. They can make you free subdomains just like no-ip but without hassle You can upgrade your account to get a domain like yourservernamehere.com. Just pick your subdomain, or upgrade and get your own domain, enter your public ip address (you can find this out with pfportchecker program), enter the text you want to go in front of the subdomain or domain, click the okay button or continue or something like that, and tada!
If you read the OP, you'll know that he already owns a domain name....

EDIT: This was in Server Administration, that was changed by the mods pretty damn fast.

No, he meant either megabytes or mebibytes, not metabytes.

How about creating a new post instead of a necro? (Not old enough for an epic necro. XD)
