Criswell posted a message on [Adv] Criswelvania Resurrection v15.0 WiP

[20.04.08] Development has resumed with an intended version for MC v1.16.x. This map is approaching the big 10 YEAR mark, and people are still playing it!

There have been some rough patches (see recent posts for info). The next release will be a standalone expansion to the main adventure, picking up RIGHT where the story left off. This time, the troubles center around the expanded Wallachia region, adjacent to the original area, and the troubled town of Jova. There is a lot of brand-new content, QoL improvements, and several hours of new gameplay. The team is still at it, true believers that we are.
Some outdated info in the main post has been amended, and broken download links re-hosted. Feel free to join our discord channel, where you can get access to the latest test builds and help playtest the new adventure as it progresses through its development paces.

[18.09.06] Criswelvania is coming up on its NINTH year in November! That's one sturdy map! We've had a couple years of setbacks resulting from previous updates, but 1.13 has given us a chance to make a fresh restart, with the potential to finally add some features this map has anticipated from its inception. The whole team is still here and we've been hard at work since pre-Release to reconstruct and improve the complete playable map.

[15.05.30] The Criswelvania project is well into it’s fifth year and we’ve expanded our development team to include Spookyhappyfun working alongside Criswell. We’re gearing up for a new release utilizing the current Minecraft version 1.8! Criswelvania Book II is still in development, but we’ve got plenty of new features to share. Stay tuned!

Criswelvania is an homage to Konami's Castlevania series of games. Fans of the original NES game will note that every level and even the overall progression of the first Castlevania has been in some way interpreted in this map, and many elements from Simon's Quest, Dracula’s Curse, Super Castlevania IV for SNES, and Symphony of the Night make appearances as well.

Criswelvania is a vanilla Minecraft map that features deadly challenges, tense battles with new and unique mobs, mechanical puzzles and hidden magical treasures to find, all spread throughout a truly epic adventure. Discover legendary weapons, powerful potions and animal companions to aid you on your journey! Criswelvania now features greatly expanded Nether content, new challenge dungeons, NPCs, revamped economy, rebalanced better multiplayer support and a slew of new redstone and piston traps and mechanisms.

If you haven’t visited in a while, maybe it's time to Return to Criswelvania!

    Quickstart Guide

It's sunset on the edge of a dark forest. You need to find weapons and items to survive. Open the first chest you see, and equip the sword. You can use the snowballs too to keep monsters at bay until you can find something better. The other materials might come in handy as well.

Follow the path East, then South until you come to a lake and Zweilliger Farm. You can take refuge overnight in the farm if you wish; you may find some more items to aid you. When you are prepared, continue down the road and you will come to a passage over a cliff leading to the first village of Gillis. You should be able to see the Castle in the distance. If you search the houses in Gillis you will find your first quest.

    Adventure Goals

Ascend the dark halls and towers of Criswelvania and cleanse it of the evil that awaits you within. Visit the nearby towns surrounding the Castle to buy supplies and get hints to guide you to the rarest and most powerful equipment.
Journey into the portal under the Palace of Darkness to face an ultimate challenge. Can you return through the Portal at the end of this deadly nightmare, and do more adventures yet await? Should you succeed, your name will become legend! If you fail, yours may end up as rather more of a... cautionary tale.

”For the best experience while playing through Criswelvania,
    the following guidelines are suggested”

    General Gameplay
    • Criswelvania is a tense action-adventure with roleplaying, platforming and puzzle-solving elements. Exploration is rewarded. The guidelines suggested are mainly to increase immersiveness, simulate NPC interaction, provide a challenge and sense of accomplishment, and an intuitive progression to prevent players from getting lost.
    • Change the Difficulty and other challenge settings in-map at the Game Start Menu.
    • Select your player character at the Hall of Heroes, and receive your starting gifts and class perk. Or choose ungifted Wanderer to forsake such attachments. Perhaps invade the Heroes instead as a PvP Adversary!
    • Real Vampire Killers will only venture outdoors or leave towns after sunset. There are some encounters that only occur at night.
    • Use shops to restock on gear and supplies, and Inns to set waypoints and access your permanent storage.
    • Explore hidden paths and solve puzzles to advance though an intricate non-linear adventure of astonishing scope.

    Looting & Treasure
You may generally take any items you find, as needed. There are several items you may find which have no specific use in the game, and your inventory will fill up quickly if you take items not related to combat, defense, and survival. There are also some valuable items which can be traded in towns for supplies (see Currency), or they may serve other purposes...

    Shops & Currency
The treasure items you find in chests throughout your journey support the local economy in Criswelvania. Selling or trading with local vendors will help you to acquire items to help you along your quest. Some vendors may even purchase any books or paintings you find along the way

The rates of exchange are as follows:
    Gold Nugget . . . $ 1
    Iron Ingot . . . . . $ 3
    Gold Ingot . . . . $ 9
    Diamond . . . . . $18

    Breaking & Placing Blocks
There are a few breakable blocks: any clay is breakable, as are suspiciously-placed single or paired blocks of half-steps or brick, or out-of-place patches of sand or gravel. There is usually a hint nearby, such as a pick or shovel in a chest. You may break monster spawners, or disable them with torches (unless playing Hardcore).
You may also mine out exposed minerals, and smelt any ores found to use as you see fit.

It is permissible to place dirt, stone, wood and other blocks to repair damaged floors or walls with the same kind of material. You may also build emergency barricades, and you may build bridges in situations such as crossing lava or chasms if it suits your style, but you may not build steps or towers to climb over fences, walls or other obstacles.

    Crafting
You may not craft items until after you find the recipes or schematics for that item (or the item itself in early versions of the map). So, even if you find 2 bars of iron, you may not craft an iron sword until you find the schematics for an iron sword. Likewise for armor, diamond gear, potions, and other things. It is possible to find or buy everything you need and never have to craft anything, but you will have to search! You will need at least some of the iron you find to buy things with anyway. Additional items may be crafted for extra players as well.

    Adventuring Tips

If you die in Criswelvania, you will spawn at your starting location outside the forest. You may want to leave some items stashed behind you in case you need to craft or purchase replacements for any lost gear.

There are a few usable beds around, you may use these to advance your spawn position.

There is a marked path to every important location, and clear boundaries to the distinct regions in the map. Try to stay within these boundaries to avoid getting lost or breaking the game. Anywhere you see pavestones or stairs is fair game for exploration. If you get out of sight of civilization, you are getting yourself lost.

Try not to break obstacles to get around them. The puzzle elements of Criswelvania are not overly complex for the uninitiated, nothing is too fiendishly buried or requires esoteric knowledge of weird Minecraft techniques. Players need not randomly rip apart the environment to find arbitrary loot. There are occasionally multiple paths to get to or from some locations, so if you get stuck, backtrack and keep searching.

“If you choose to roleplay the adventure in this way,
it will greatly increase the depth and enjoyment of your game”

    Helpful Hints
Keep an eye out for buttons which open doors from the outside.
Many metal doors can be permanently opened from the inside by a lever.
Wooden plates activate when an item is dropped upon them. A fishing rod sinker also works!
Spare ladders may come in handy.
Stash excess loot in safehouse locations and always enter unexplored areas prepared!
    There's always a way out.

    Endgame

Chapter 6: Throne of Darkness begins after you ascend the Clock Tower before you enter Bathory Castle. You may still return to previously visited locations to recover overlooked items. After you clear the Palace of Darkness, you are free to locate the Treasury and the Portal Room.

There are also several challenge areas to explore once you are sufficiently equipped. First of these encountered would be Deadman's Cave, just outside of Gillis, where a great amount of pirate treasure lies tucked away. There are other mysterious areas scattered around containing treasure as well.

When you are prepared and carrying as much treasure as you can, enter the portal. To complete the game, simply return from the Nether through the next portal you find, to the Caves of Confusion. Escape to the surface! But, is this really the end??

    Further Exploration

Once you beat the map, you are free to use the world as your own. If you decide to use the castle as a base, there are 3 other large and mostly unexplored caves in the area, full of minerals and danger.

The extensive Nether portal system will take you to dozens of areas to explore spanning 2 large continents, an enormous world with hundreds of things to discover. The Nether itself has 32 secret chests tucked away -- how many can you find? In the non-Lite versions, see if you can find the Western Ziggurat, Embersted, or the Sacred Caves. Take an 8-minute train tour of the main continent! Try to sail back to Criswelvania on the Minerva Cup Regatta route.

Looking to immerse yourself in the experience even more? Maybe consider contributing to the world! Read more over at The Minerva Project.

    Multiplayer

Criswelvania now has full support for Multiplayer, and to enhance the adventure, several player character roles involved in the story are provided here. These suggested roles are designed to suit players with various playstyles and levels of experience, and should be balanced in such a way that each player has a clear function in the group. Up to 5 players are recommended.

    Mods & Resource Packs

This map was designed using Default textures, and they are recommend for maximum clarity and fidelity to the intended appearance. However, if you want to spice up the look of the map, there are some appropriate textures and resource packs available that very much compliment the atmosphere of Criswelvania.

Likewise, while Criswelvania is a vanilla map that requires no mods and was not intended for use with mods, there are some that can enhance your gameplay and bring a new and different experience to the adventure.

Be aware, any 3rd-party textures or mods may change the way the game plays in unexpected ways, and may need to be maintained separately to remain compatible with future Minecraft updates, so we can in no way guarantee their performance.

Castlevania: Collection is a 16px resource pack current with Minecraft version 1.4.5, and looks very nice overall.

Updated! Craftsylvania Texture Pack started by Morhlis, later maintained by Tibyon, this 16px pack is styled after the original 8-bit NES Castlevania games. Very cool, there's a lot to like about this pack, but for many player the textures make the game too unfamiliar and signs hard to read. Unfortunately it has not been updated since Minecraft Beta 1.7 and now appears to be abandoned. Use at your discretion.

The Endermen Nerf mod prevents Endermen from picking up blocks and moving them around like a bunch of jerks. There’s also a version that prevents them from being damaged by sunlight or water if you like seeing Endermen everywhere all the time. Updated for Minecraft version 1.7.10.

The Careful Creepers mod prevents Creepers from destroying critical blocks. This is an older mod, though, which is fine for older versions of Criswelvania. If Creepers blowing stuff up is a problem for you, give it a whirl.

If you’re playing after Criswelvania 5.2, though, these are turned off by default through console commands, along with fire spread.

User tokeitime has posted some comprehensive mod recommendations for various preferences and effects based on a Minecraft 1.4.7 playthrough of Return to Criswelvania v2.5.

    more recommendations soon...

    FAQ & Troubleshooting

Q: Does Criswelvania install or require any mods or texture packs?
A: No, Criswelvania runs on vanilla Minecraft and is maintained to be 100% compatible with the the corresponding Minecraft version. Resource packs and mods are purely optional and officially unsupported, however some efforts have received our recognition as adding something complimentary to the mood or spirit of Criswelvania, for players seeking a different experience. Our best recommendation is to play the map on default first, then replay with mods or textures, unless you really want to jump blind into an unfamiliar scenario.

Q: I'm spawning somewhere weird/The map is broken/I don't know where I am or where to go!
A: Anyone having troubles getting started, post or PM us (Spookyhappyfun or Criswell) as much information about your setup as you can: which MC version/mode, any mods in use, which links you've tried, and we'll try to troubleshoot.
Some quick suggestions are to try a different download link, and to make sure that the World folder is in the .minecraft/saves directory, and that the World folder was not double-nested upon extraction (i.e.: "Criswelvania" folder with level.dat inside another "Criswelvania" folder inside /saves). Do NOT create a new folder when extracting.

Q: Will the Lite version work on my mobile device or console?
A: Minecraft Pocket and Console Editions do not support proper Minecraft maps yet, but the hope is that someday they will. That would be frickin' sweet.

Q: Does Criswelvania ever get old?
A: Never. It keeps getting better the more times you play it! ;)

Criswelvania is a respectful homage and parody of Konami's Castlevania, Bram Stoker's Dracula and many other similar works, but is not connected to those works in any direct way. Criswelvania is set in the world of Minerva in its own canon and any similarities to other works of fiction, coincidental or intended, are purely hilarious.

Down the road, we may set up a donation option for the purpose of setting up an SMP server or two with its own forum, once the requirements exceed our hobbying budget. To this end, we may consider a limited run of some basic commemorative donor gifts: shirts, hats and pins, stuff we can pretty much make ourselves. However, we will never pressure the community for funding, and when interest diminishes then this project will conclude.

The creator has other more original ideas he would like to develop in the future, and is open to working with demonstrably talented individuals who have similar goals.

ZeroG3651 posted a message on [Adv] You Just Got Schooled! [v1.5]
v1.5 has been released!(Now works for Minecraft v1.2.3+
More puzzles! More hallways! More fixes! OOooOOOoooOOoo *Updated the ladders to work with Minecraft's v1.1 ladder update*
The updated map and texture pack are down in the downloads section.

    So...

You want to play an adventure map about a journey through a magical and abandoned castle trying to save the world, right? Well you won't find any of that here, by a long shot, but who cares! Because you don't find cheap plastic posters in your local store that say "Journeys through magical and abandoned castles are COOL!!!", you find cheap plastic posters that say "SCHOOL IS COOL!" on them! This adventure map is based on school! Because we know how much you love it!Your mission: Get out of the school! (No, you aren't playing hookie, school just ended and you wanna get home).

    The Rules

    1: Play on peaceful
2: Don't break or place any blocks (Unless told)
3: You may use items to create blocks/items
4: You may place buttons/levers ONLY near doors.
5: Play with the school texture pack
6: No killing Mobs (Sheep, Pigs, ect). You may only kill squid. (Cuz ya know, squid are only the most annoying peaceful mob ever)
7: (Optional) Play during the day. Night makes it too hard to see. On a server, there are usually commands that allow you to change the time of day. (/time 0, or /time day if you are using essentials).
8: HAVE FUN! (If I didn't add this, I'd feel inferior to other maps, so here it is.)

    The Media

Here is a picture of some area in the map (There is no video. If you want a video, go to Hogwarts, all the pictures move there). However, that is outdated information, there actually IS a video, well, more than 1 video. They can be found under this picture...

These videos are from earlier version of the map, but they're still pretty awesome!Dead Worker's Party made a video series for this map.
    Here it is! It's amazing!

Thanks for the awesome videos too, Caveman!
    More videos

    Turbok23's totally wonderful video!
    Zuniis' Wonderful video!FROGAiming's mind-blowing video!CrystalWolf's awe-inspiring video!Nopefully's epic Video!xX5PIK3Xx's magnificent (I'm running out of adjectives) video!ContextCrow's video! (The FIRST one ever made for this map!)UltraTeamBattleSquad's super video!ComicCrafter's sexy playthrough!psxoopsandfails' groovy video!Legendofham's wonderful video!hj86's exalting video!DrJerichoXX's shocking series!Shhhhadowww's (+ or - a few h's) cool video!
    For Spanish Speakers...

If you'd like your video added, just ask.

    The Downloads
Here is link to the map. Just open the zip folder, drag out the map folder, then search for some Thread that tells you how to install the map if you do not know how.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?o2ohdggg8ha80qu

If you wanna be lame, and not play with the texture pack, then don't click the link below...

    http://www.mediafire.com/?vyh9vlxx0sm91jc

    The Notes
*When you first enter the map, you'll probably spawn somewhere randomly around the spawn point, usually outside the school. A good way to fix this is death, I heartily recommend suicide. No really, it will respawn you where you're supposed to be, inside the school. (Not in real life of course, unless you're depressed and have your parents' permission) NOTE: Now in the current version of minecraft, killing yourself will spawn you around or on the building, but not inside of it. You must break a few blocks to get in, sadly! *UPDATE-Now you can go through a vent into the room**Relatively Short with a confusing tileset!*If you have any problems with the current version, be sure to comment or pm me.If you're stuck at the "levers code" part, check out this spoiler...
The code for the levers part is, from left to right,"Down-Down-Up-Down-Up-Down"

Liked the map? Want more? Well you could spent hours creating your own little map with this texture pack to show your friends so they can criticize every little mistake, OR you could check out the server based on school using this texture pack!http://www.minecraft...king-for-staff/

(Ummmm, for some reason it's pretty much dead! So sorry for bring your hopes up even though you probably didn't care! At least you can stare at the images that were added.)

Jigarbov posted a message on 1.6 [PUZ][ADV] The City of Love~ - What will your story be? Get some love!
Welcome to the City of Love~
The first ever "dating sim" in Minecraft. Explore the city of love and find your perfect match. Complete loads of challenges to swoon your significant other. Will you find the one right for you or will you amass a bunch of haters?

    Release Trailer:
    Joe's & Krystal's Story
    Krystal's Story
    Old Media
    Teaser Trailer:
    Download The Map!
    Download Here!

You must downgrade to 1.6.4 to play this map. It does not work in 1.7 or later.

You MUST use the included (its in the download file) texture pack to play this map. If playing on SMP ensure enable-command-block is set to true in the server.properties file! It will not work without these things.
This map is intended for single player, however it IS compatible with multiplayer as long as you only have one person talking to a character at a time. IE: if P1 is talking to Amy, P2 cannot talk to Amy, but P2 can be talking to Shaz. For more specifics on multiplayer, more details are inside the map.
    KNOWN BUGS
Minecraft bugs that effects the map: Randomly, but rarely, Minecraft will lose entities and scoreboard settings. This means, if it happens to you, the lights on the black book will go out meaning you will lose progress on characters and/or characters including the bank teller will just vanish. There is nothing I can do about these things... silly buggy minecraft. If you encounter one of these issues, you will have to reload the map. (Luckily it can be beaten to 100% in under 2 hours)
1.14: No Bugs Reported (renamed lots more containers, added more details, slightly adjusted Barkeep second encounter, streamlined sign usage in tutorial, minor dialogue adjustments)
1.13: No Bugs reported (Clarified how far other players must be from the npc conversations, renamed some hoppers, minor dialogue changes.)
1.12: None yet. (added a new npc!)
    1.04: Minor conversation target issues
1.03 Possible to get stuck into the animal enclosures at the petshop
1.02:Using optifine and "better grass" will cause graphical issues at the spawn point, but it will be fine for the remaining of the map.
This map is NOT compatible with certain bukkit plugins because it uses vanilla command block commands. Also, it's very computer intensive and you will likely experience lag on a slower pc. Turning smooth lighting off will help dramatically. If, you didn't spawn at the beginning, the starting coordinates are: x:-1340 y:57 z:2081.

This was supposed to be a 2 week project that ballooned into a full scale adventure/puzzle map. It has some amazing puzzles and challenges including a level of NPC AI that has never been seen before on this scale. There are over 6 different citizens you can end up with, with a tonne of collectibles and things that are tracked over the course of the map. Don't forget to post your final score here so we can see how you did!

This was a collaboration effort between myself and some very well known map makers. Make sure you check them out!

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    1. A new map has been released! Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle, an adventure map with a few twists and turns, is now available for download! Give it a shot!

    2. A new thread featuring the home of my next map has been created! Go check it out, comment and get excited!

    3. The map was featured on the front page, on the 20 of July 2012! Was quite a nice surprise, truth be told. That said, they were a little late to the party, as one of the first comments on the article cleverly states! :P

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    INTRODUCTION

Welcome, ladies and non-ladies, to yet another custom map adventure. What you see before your eyes is a picture of the Castle of Madness, ruled by yourself. That's right: You are the Monarch of Madness. King of the unstable, leader to insanity, czar of craze - call it as you like. However, not everything is completely whack here, as there is still an easy to follow story in front of you. Fifty years ago, you went to sleep, but why exactly? You know not. All there is left of your past presence are a few notes written by your butler, who took care of you a long time ago.

What exactly is mad in this beautiful structure? And how far will you have to go in order to understand your new task? Is there a reward at the end, or will darkness invade you? Only one way to know:

    Play it.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    RULES AND TIPS

All these rules and more are also in the map, in the form of a rule book from version 1.3.2 and onward! That said, it's a good idea to read through these first just to get a good idea of what you're getting yourself into! Trust me, you'll thank me later.

    1. Do not break blocks and do not place blocks, unless told to. If you are told to place a block, and you misplace it, you have the right to break it and replace it. If you're in an impasse where you can only get out by breaking, say, a wooden plank, go right ahead. Some traps are like that.

    2. Do not craft anything. And that means, anything. Everything you need will be given to you when needed.

    3. Do not use mods. It might screw something up. If you have some mods installed, and the game crashes or won't let you spawn right, it might be caused by your mods.

    4. The difficulty USED to be unimportant, but since version 1.6 of the map, playing on easy or higher is strongly recommended. I can't force you to play with mobs on, but they will certainly add an important dose of madness. Some places will also require you to change difficulties, but if you're on multiplayer, just play on easy.

    5. The length is rather long - or at least, it was when the map first came out. It took me 2 hours and twenty minutes to complete everything in it myself, and I made the map. Take that as you will. Of course, with maps that can take almost twenty hours to complete these days, around three hours shouldn't seem too intimidating... right?

    6. For those of you who enjoy taking the time of checking every nook and cranny of a map, there ARE Easter eggs and various little gags. They may not be related to the story in any way, yet they might add to your experience during the exploration of this fantastic kingdom where the grand dominate the puny, and rats dominate everyone with a weak immunity system. Also, if something tells you "your current destination", chances are it's your current destination. If you need a flint and steel to access something, and you don't have one yet, don't assume you missed it and you must give one to yourself. That's wrong.

    7. You might have guessed this one by now, but if you despise reading, avoid this map entirely or disregard the signs in-game. Unfortunately, I love babbling aimlessly, so you'll find plenty of signs everywhere. You can just break them if you hate them that much, though.

    8. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE BY FAR: Some of these rules will have to be broken, but only at some specific points throughout the map. When, you ask? I won't tell you. Use of your own judgement to determine when you should disobey the rules.

In any case, from the 1.4 version and onwards, the rules will all be in a handy book you can find at the beginning, just so you remember them throughout the whole adventure! Also, this isn't a rule, but an important tip: the coordinates of spawn are x: -63, y: 48 and z: 9. If you spawn on the roof, get down and into the room of those coordinates. You can sleep in the multiplayer spawn lobby to reset your spawn.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DOWNLOAD

To play this map, you need to download it. That was kinda obvious, so I'll simply add that I'll always keep previous versions available, if you want to try them. I still suggest downloading the first or second one, as they're the newest version. If you don't know how to install maps, you type "%appdata%" to search your system, get inside your .minecraft folder, and find the "saves" folder. In there, you can find your Minecraft worlds. Go download the map file, and it'll give you an archive. Archives are tiny files that keep a lot of things in them, kind of like a beehive. The files in it don't sting, though. Just extract the files from the archive, using an appropriate program, such as winzip (for .zip files) or winrar (for .rar files). The files inside should be named "Monarch of Madness" with a version number. Put that in your saves folder, and bam! Ready to play.

Note that I do exclusively use adfly on the main download links, as well as the most recent mirror links. I have set them up on August 4th 2012, because I revamped everything and put the main files on Fileswap, while keeping them on Mediafire as well. If you don't like adfly that much, and want the main downloads without passing through it, just download through the mirror on Mediafire... But really, it's just a few ads that barely last a few seconds and that you can ignore, yet give me some money to keep working on both this map and other projects. My thanks go out to all those who support me with adfly! And even if you don't, I still love you - just a little bit less. (If Fileswap doesn't work, try Mediafire through the mirror, and vice-versa.)

Version 1.5 (.rar) - For Minecraft 1.4.5 and above (Alternate Download)

Version 1.5 (.zip) - For Minecraft 1.4.5 and above (Alternate Download)

Version 1.4.2 (.rar) - For Minecraft 1.4.5 (Mirror)

Version 1.4.2 (.zip) - For Minecraft 1.4.5 (Mirror)

For multiplayer, you can either install the map on your server the classic way, or for a simpler approach, check out the Adventure Lobbies! It allows you to play maps online in lobbies, without having to install anything. Just go to the map list, and choose "Monarch of Madness" to play this one! You have a maximum playtime of five hours, but within that time, you should be done with the map easily. If you plan on playing the map multiple times with breaks, though, it might not be your favored option, yet keep it in mind!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    CHANGELOG

    1.4.5:
    - Messed around with the command blocks a bit more, reducing lag around the bridge explosion and overall making everything better. Minigame in the Nether with creepers now functions correctly with a mob griefing control.
    - Slightly modified a part of the Nether.
    - Slightly modified a part of the End, for convenience.
    - Bugfixes and even more bugfixes.
    - Changed a long series of maps into a book.
    - Added sprinkles of madness.

    1.4.2:
    - Added a command block to disable mob griefing and mob loot, allowing you to remain on normal difficulty throughout the entire map! (Even though the signs still say otherwise.)
    - Changed some aesthetics.
    - Turned "keepitems" on, so dying won't let you lose anything.
    - Bugfixes and bugfixes and bugfixes.
    - Added preview of next map.
    - But not really.

    1.3.2:
    - A few grammar fixes here and there.
    - Bugs were squashed, the environment got changes that could have been made a long time ago... So that's that.
    - Books! Yes, I have added even MORE content for you to read! Go nuts!
    - Re-added Herobrine.

    1.3.1:
    - Added a lot of content to both the Serene and Deserted Meadow.
    - Added three new noteblock songs.
    - Added lots of points to the map, for a new grand total! Scoreboard coming soon.
    - Fixed plenty of bugs and problems.
    - Prepared the map for 1.3 Minecraft additions - even though the update is out, none of its new content has been integrated. That'll be in an update between 1.3 and 1.4, sometime.
    - Made some challenges easier, some, tougher. Balancing.
    - Added a zest of madness.

    1.2.4 and below:
    - I was too lazy to make a changelog. Not like I could change that now anyways.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    SCREENSHOTS

Here are some screenshots! In order to avoid spoiling anything, they have been put inside spoiler tags, so you can safely scroll to the bottom without ruining the surprise. Some of them are very revealing, however. If you are already convinced and want to play, don't look at them if you'd rather preserve the surprise. If you don't care about spoilers at all, then feel free to look at all of them.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    RECOMMENDED RESOURCE PACK

The resource pack I can recommend for the map is called Ghost's Rustic, a beautiful x64 pack. If you can handle it, I seriously recommend you give it a shot.

If you find any other resource pack that's easier to run but still has a darker/medieval feel to it, I'd recommend using those. You don't want lag to ruin your enjoyment of the map, after all!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    SCOREBOARD

The scoreboard was implemented after the 1.3.2 update, so the max score possible is now going to remain the same forever! Any player who directly commented with their score in the past has been added, and any who wants to add their score can do so now! The scoring system used to be a joke, but now that it's a fully-implemented system of leather and saddles, you might as well aim for the top score!

If you want to add your score, however, you must show a screenshot of the inventory you place inside the score box at the end of the scored section of the map. I didn't ask for screenshots before, but now, I do! Besides, the score box has to be there for something.

    FAN-MADE CONTENT

If I happen to stumble upon fan-made content for the map, be they reviews, pieces of art, trailers or anything else, I'll post them here! If you made anything, please share it!

    CREDITS

Thanks to Mojang for this magnificent game called Minecraft!
Thanks to my friends TapeitorDieGuy and Natey9 for help with the story-line!
Thanks to SimsterAce for making the map's official trailer!
Thanks to Zinn for pointing out the mysterious cause of a grand fire! From now on, the castle shouldn't burn to the ground for no apparent reason. Unless you do that yourself.
Thanks to Revolvee for allowing me to build off of his base model of the castle, originally named "Castle Estel", which I found beautiful. If you want to see amazing builds, check his channel out! Definitely worthwhile! Seriously, you won't regret it.
Thanks to Ghostsniper and SMP for allowing me to recommend their wonderful texture packs!
Thanks to all the games I've played before, since a lot of them inspired me in the creation of this map. (Yes, reference pros, you'll see an abundance of references and quotes.)
Thanks to lasarus for making the ImageToMap program, which certainly has many uses! It helps condense a lot of text into a few item slots. Less signs, more maps! Even with the book and quill that are now available, maps give you plenty of opportunities!
Thanks to me (I feel horrible saying that, but I must) for putting everything together and making it an adventure! DarkoHexar, The_Forgotten, ThePenFactory, Bubble_Man... No matter the name, map-making's my game!
Finally, thanks to everyone who will play this map, comment on it, make videos of it or give any other kind of feedback! You're all loved equally!

    • No text overflow
    • Keeps history of whole Minecraft session, not just per world
    • Key bindings
    • Text highlighting
    • Username tabbing in SMP
    • ...and more to come :)
The console Window can be opened using the backslash key by default, which is customisable through the Minecraft controls window.

As mentioned above you can customise a lot of the console by changing the properties file located at .minecraft/mods/console/gui.properties

    This mod requires Mod Loader

    Customisation

The GUI can be customised quite a bit already, and I am working on more which will allow everyone (if they want) to have a unique looking GUI. The customisation comes from the configuration file located at .minecraft/mods/console/gui.properties

    Colours

Within the settings file, any setting that starts with COLOR_ is a color. To edit these colors simply put in your new color in 32 bit unsigned format.

For example, if you wish to change the output box background:
    COLOR_OUTPUT_BACKGROUND=0xFFFFFF

This specifies that the OUTPUT background should be white. The bits are specified as below:

    0xAARRGGBB

    Where
    AA = Alpha
    RR = Red
    GG = Green
    BB = Blue

    Key Bindings

The mod now supports binding keys to events, there are currently no commands that allow you to configure this is game though.

To add or change a key binding simply create a new file (or edit the existing) at: .minecraft/mods/console/bindings.properties

Each line in the file specifies a key binding the format is expected as below:
    KEY_CODE_LIST=INPUT

KEY_CODE_LIST is a comma separated list of KEY CODES for all the keys which need to be pressed at the same time in order to execute the INPUT
INPUT is what is executed - it is sent to the server if you're on multi-player or into the chatline if you're on single player.

    Example:
    19=Pressed the R key
    42,19=Pressed Shift+R keys
    42,19,20=Pressed Shift+R+T keys

For a list of keycodes refer here:

From the creators of the Minecraft LOST Map and the Minecraft Build-off Versus series, we present the Minecraft Sesame Street Adventure Map. This map is intentionally designed for young children, or the young at heart. While there were creative liberties taken in the creation of this map, the major landmarks are fairly accurate. Thank you for downloading this map and we hope you enjoy it.

The skins that are provided were created by IHasCupquake.

    Instructions:
Please make sure to turn your difficulty settings to Peaceful, as we don’t want any creepers exploding. Also, please stay within the wooden walls. If you don’t want to play at night, use the beds to sleep. You will wake up when the sun rises.

    Story:
You arrive on Sesame Street and everyone says hello to you. However, they need your help. There are several Easter eggs (eggs) hidden throughout Sesame Street. Search through the buildings to find them all. The eggs will be in chests. Right-click to open a chest. No digging will be required to find the chests. Good luck.

If you need help, below is a list of how many eggs are located in each building.

    Charlie’s Restaurant – 7
    Cookie Monster Bakery – 2
    Count’s Castle – 9
    Fix-It Shop (including upstairs) – 4
    Hooper’s Store (including roof) – 4
    Greenhouse/Garden – 1
The Arbor (including Garage) – 4
123 Sesame Street (including Bert and Ernie’s Apartment and roof) – 10
Oscar the Grouch Area – 1
Giant Elmo and Dorothy – 2
    Big Bird’s Home – 4
    Library/Swimming Pool Building – 8
    Muppet Café – 4
    Apartment A – 9
    Apartment B – 10
Subway Station (Don’t forget to check the other side of the track) – 10
The Park (Eggs are not hidden within trees. Check benches and playground) – 11
    Total – 100 eggs

    Advanced:
Too easy for you? There are 40 other hidden chests with feathers in them. We won’t tell you where they are, but they are located throughout the map. Good luck in your search. Hint: These chests can be found without flying and digging. Please stay within the walls.

If you have enjoyed this map, please check out our Minecraft LOST Map, as well as our Mega Golf Course (72 holes) Map. Both maps are available for download on the Minecraft Forum.

We do a series on our Youtube Channel called Minecraft Build-Off Versus where my brother and I challenge each other in one-hour builds on random things. We also open up our server while we record this to anyone. Please subscribe to our channel – www.youtube.com/koba2802.
