After playing for the last few days I've been playing with the pre1a release. The only concern I have is the fact that it only takes 4 gold ingots to make a diamond. Me and my girlfriend have been playing today and working on getting diamond gears and we had the idea to go to the nether(Making obsidian from only 2 wood made the portal easy to make) and kill pigmen. We're able to rake in loads of gold, seeing as how the pigmen drop nuggets, ingots, and swords(have uncrafting table from twilight forest mod). So far I feel that 4 ingots isn't enough, it's quite easy to get diamonds. Just wanted to add this in because seeing as how the point of the ee3 release was to balance the game out, I thought it may be valuable.
(Literally joined to start posting on this thread lol)
well welcome and pay no heed to the whiners
but yeah. Pahimar is trying to establish a better balance within the mod itself, without a lot of the extremely OP equipment
im not sure if he was insulting or complimenting you.....
anywho, saw the clear glass mod and was all "yes!" then saw it was 1.3.2 and was like "so close" XD
spent about 10 minutes resolving block and item id conflicts, just to discover the added dimensions conflict with mystcraft's dimension manager. drat XP
now to start scanning through the thread to see if there has been a resolution put forth......
EDIT: the forum's search function actually proved functional and amazingly useful this time around, found a lot of promising posts
Until there is actual communication from her, this is going to continue. (Stating what will happen, not a threat, as the mods are twitchy round these parts)
are you saying the mods have had too much caffeine? ;P
I found the last few pages of this thread to be hilarious. It seems like waiting for RedPower2 is like waiting for a new version of the iPhone. Some people are just way too impatient. I understand the popularity of this mod, but all the flame wars on this thread are making me laugh. I think I'll just wait on the sidelines and let the naysayers and the impatient critics fight it out.
Didn't mean to offend any pahimar fans i was just pointing out that this seem to be held back, thats all. i know they work very hard and i really appreciate what they do
its not held back at all. What we are getting is what they have on the server
as long as he doesn't add liquid that requires special tanks to contain or else it explodes
seriously though, managing taint was one of the best meta games in minecraft modding, while i'll be sorely missing it and those wonderful conduits or tubes or whatever the official name was i can say i think pahimar has a good enough basis for inspiration to really surprise us all in a good way.
Am I the only one who hates the idea of wires? I'd like to move away from making EE3 just another tech mod not come even closer. Especially now that collectors are gone (thank zeus for that) I see little point in adding emc wires.
Now granted I don't know what the new emc system is even going to look like so maybe I'm wrong and a way to transmit emc is sorely needed. If this is the case then can we at least make it wireless? Like say if your relay or whatever generates emc is within x blocks of a furnace, pedestal or whatever device you want powered it simply transfers power. There could then be relay "antennas" increase range and/or directional antennas that boost further but only in one direction.
The problem with the NEI recipe handler are the versions. EW is for MC 1.4.4. By the time I created that version, NEI was for 1.4.2. So I could not include anything for it. Now I updated officially to 1.4.5 and included the NEI recipe handler again.
(off topic) Don't forget EE, that is the biggest troll ever (pre release with everything stripped out while watching server play with it all complete and working)...is it a coincidance...i think not, as it's the same deal as thaumcraft and there all playing on the same cozy server
umm, other than the minium stone i havent seen any of EE3 on the servers. you sure you arent mistaking
Thaumcraft3 stuff for EE3?
Im just trying to put in perspective the amount of time put in to developing the little critters and how much of that time could, instead of being used for a mere curiosity that needed a hell of a lot of bugfixes to make work properly given the fact that they can fly, be used in advancing the game itself. Its very similar to what Flowerchild has already said about bosses on numerous occasions, its a whole lot of effort for very little actual gameplay involved in the product.
i just hope they plan to re-use the code for other flying mobs that have actual uses. If the bats arent a precursor for something awesome, then have much disappointment in them, we shall.
Thank god Flowerchild!!! if you hadnt updated any sooner i would never have been able to drag my ass off the couch from playing halo 4! Recently ive been thinking that with the way things are going with vanilla these days, well I'm just not sure what to think... It makes me wonder though who was busy tending to their, ahem, hemp farm when they decided adding bats, the most worthless mob possible, was a good idea...
they do help with setting the atmosphere of cavern systems... so they kinda sorta do have a use, i guess...
if only you could use their echolocation abilities to guide you out of a cavern system to the surface, than theyd be useful

i have to agree. they came out with updates fast and furious, with a few updates breaking stuff for forge and various mods.
