posted a message on Making Floating Islands Like In 3_2's Eventide Trance and Vechs' Infernal Sky?

How is this done? Like, I know that in Infernal Sky Vechs mainly just used fill brushes in mcedit, but I have no idea how three_two did the natural looking floating land in Eventide Trance. I basically want to know how to make large sprawling land masses like Eventide Trance. Please help.

How did he make the basic island generation? Looks like some sort of thing generated naturally, but I've no idea how he could've done it without using mcedit or worldedit or whatever. Sorry if this is a dupe post

After stepping back looking at my map for a few minutes... I've trashed it.

But do not fret guys, I have a great idea for a very... 'unique' map. Should be done in no time!

(We were allowed to start yet? Because I did at about noon, and if not, than I think I may have broken some rules...)

Just finished some hardcore speed work creating two of the three BASIC island themes. Ones more of a icy, pillar-ed area, and the other is a gigantic forest. Excited to start adding more content and start some dungeons!

Will attach images for now, does anyone know the easiest way to have images built into the page? The only way I can do it is if I get the image from another website. Like, what if I just wanna use a picture in my files, but I want it in my post (as opposed to underneath it...)

Just played _Krose_'es map, excellent job. Was really well balanced and, although it felt a bit easy, I did find it really fun. Excited to start three_two's map shortly.

Question: How do you know we only spent 72 hours on it? Like, having released the theme, I could (technically) begin working on a map today and have two additional days before entering it on the eighth of August. Is there some way of counteracting this? Can anyone join and submit a map? How do you submit a map? I would love to do this but I didn't get all of this out of the description in the post.

(Please don't be mad if I just blatantly missed something ;-;)

posted a message on [CTM] Rolocarn's Humble Abode (BETA TESTING NOW - VERSION 1.3)

This map is open for beta testing, and feed back is encouraged (as well as YouTube. Feel free to do anything with this map but claiming it for yourself.) This map is made for great variety, excellently balanced game-play (as you can expect, however, the Beta version isn't too balanced yet...) and very pretty areas. So far there is two full intersections with a very open feel to it. Expect to find a lot of secret pathways, hidden areas, and fun loot. 8-ish wools have been placed. No bonus objectives have been placed yet.

Please don't mind the under-decorated forum page. I apologize.

:stone: Change-log (Current Version: 1.3 Beta)

    8/6/15 - 8/7/15 (Beta 1.3)

    Additions

+ Released Beta Version on Curse and on Minecraft Forums

    + Balanced from pre-Beta version

+ Added entrance to the (unstarted) Intersection Three

+ Added more difficulty to beginning area

    Fixes:

    - Removed ridiculous amounts of spawners in floating forest area

    - Removed (some) ridiculous amounts of spawners in Hailwick Spires (more to be removed; area is a bit too difficult as is)

    Issues:

= Callidons Castle is totally unbalanced and goes from easy to ridiculously difficult in seconds. Not so fun

= Some food management issues later game

    :stone: Other Stuff:

Created by Rolocarn. Please don't copy. Release date not nearly set in stone. Have fun.

Rolocarn's CTM Map - ALPHA TESTERS NEEDED

    Hello possible testing applicants!

You have (I hope) joined me here, on this crisp summer evening, to read and become informed on the likelihood of you--yes you--becoming an alpha tester for my latest-and-greatest CTM map, which remains to be unnamed. (Name suggestions are encouraged, as I truly can't think of a single one that sounds nice.) So, what say I tell you a little about the map?

    About The Map:

Would I say it's hard? No, not really. It's certainly not easy, don't get me wrong, but it isn't one of those stereotypical Super-Hostile-wannabe maps that amp up the difficulty so high that game-play doesn't even have a place in the map. The first and foremost objective of this map was to be not stupidly hard, but riddle-like and difficult. Not beautifully crafted and gorgeous to look at, but harsh and entertaining to play. You might find yourself in situations where the only way to proceed is not through monotonous fighting, but through careful observation, explosive exploration and, well, fanciful guesswork.

Basically imagine the golden days of CTM maps, when game-play took a higher place than aesthetics. That's what this is, my friend.

So far there is only a handful of dungeons (wools) completed. With two intersections nearly done, (the second has some areas where loot hasn't been put in and where the difficulty might be unbalanced) the map is still in its infant age, and will progress with the help of people like you. (Well, maybe not. Some people just really suck at being testers.)

    How To Be A Tester:

It's really quite easy, old sport. Really all you have to do is Gmail me at [email protected], and that should do it. Basically just say something like this:

"Hi, yo Rolocarn. Me is interested in bein' a alpha testa' for your map. Lemme do it m8."

And then what I'll do is send you the map.You play it, send me your complaints, praises, criticisms, death threats, etc. And then I'll put an item in the map named after you or something. (You can request some sort of appraisal for yourself in the map. Everyone will be put on a Testers sign somewhere in the map, but each of y'all can have your own little weapon or something too.) Also, if you want to put your playthrough on YouTube that would be pretty cool, old sport.

(Five bonus Literature-Points to the first person to tell me where old sport is from...)

    Screenshots:

Well, Minecraft Forum was being pretty fussy with me today and wouldn't let me put them directly in the page, so I just added them as extra things.

Do you think you could add a .zip download? If I've just missed it then I'm sorry for asking, but the maps look really great and I'd love to play them, but I just don't do .rar files.

posted a message on Most efficient way of mining for diamonds?
The best way to mine for diamonds, in a normal survival world, is to go down to layer 10. Then, you dig a 1 by 1 by 3 tall tunnel for about one hundred blocks. Then, go and make more 1 by 1 by 3 tunnels every 3 three blocks down your first tunnel. This works best because diamond spawns in chunks of 4-ish, therefore if you leave three blocks apart with your tunnels, there's no chance of any diamonds getting left behind. Also, you should mine at layer 10 because diamonds spawn most frequently on layers 10, 11 and 12. (Hence the three tall tunnels...)

    Hope I helped someone!
