as for the pc version, mojang relies on java, independent of the OS, minecraft can be ran on linux, mac, and windows, lol. if it was windows only and reliant on microsoft's code, i would be required to use WINE on my system since i run linux mint 16, lol.
people often get servers cause they dont have the hardware to run a server and play at the same time, lol. I play with a good share of people in both minecraft and jka that still gont have a pc that can run today's newer games with decent performance.
many gamers rely on laptops as its the only thing they have, relying on donations doesnt make a community bad. how they use the donations is what counts. this will hurt the entire minecraft community, just just the "bad servers" if mojang goes hitler about this.
sueing people will greatly hurt mojang's image as well as spying on people who buy their game when just yesterday they took part on the large scale reset the net event, playin both sides of this scenario -

the minecraft gaming community admins itself, peeps dont like a server or admins of a server, it gets hit by griefer teams, lol.
peeps do what they can to support their servers, to support 100 slot servers or larger, it takes alot of hardware power and ram to run all that, and theres a good share of peeps that cant run those 100+ slot servers on their own. they get help from some donaters in their player bases. for a good stable 20 slot server, you need 3 gb's minimum cause the server depending on whats used for plugins ranges around 340-700+ MB ram. thats with no players.
mojang would be killing hundreds of servers and possibly minecraft itself by trying to enforce anything like this.this late in the game -

Wrong. Its a modpack. It loads with item mismatch errors because the code of some of the mods changed between the time the map was made and when it was released... it happens when worlds are created and mods are updated. The world plays fine. As is evident by the number of youtubers and streamers playing. Please learn the difference between "mod" and "modpack" . Mods are single files that edit minecraft. Modpacks are a combination of mods and configs to work together and create a different experience than just one mod. Maps that are created for packs often have "missing/mismatched" ID's when the pack is updated. If you had pressed "continue" you would have found out it was fine.
Pre-built worlds are things like the FTb Monument map, Vechs Super Hostile etc... this is a combination map and modpack. Not a mod.

You are not suppose to start a new world but use a preexisting one they provide already in the Saves folder and in-game menu for they have the start material you need. New worlds are just empty void all around, you will fall to death each time unless creative and use an Angel Block and build a platform around it.

for future reference, blocking elements of player interaction kills the civ aspect.
its up to the minemen and their nations on those elements, and how they stand.
while the face of the server looks respectable, as major minemen jump in to try your variation of the civworld.
they will quickly jump out as i did, cause you have forbidden some elements. no civ is ever meant to be neatly tucked and clean.
civ is an experiment, and if you block parts of the experiment, its already a dead project.
