or they play the game and come to the forums for help and they get blown off for asking questions main reason i never use forums much
This.
I've said this before, and I'm gonna risk sounding redundant here by saying it again, simply because it can't really be said enough.
There are too many assholes here. Yes. Assholes.
Hardly a thread goes by without pretty large amounts of completely useless answers. And a lot of those are usually the "ZOMG UNNECESARRYY!!111" or "ZOMG SERCH LOLOMFGNUB""!!!1231231564&%#" kind of posts. Don't get me wrong, it is possible to get good feedback, and good answers here, but sometimes it just drowns in the epic river of ******** that is the majority of posts here.
I understand (and have witnessed personally) that there are ridiculous amounts of reposts, and the same questions and answers are repeated, but you can't deny this extremely hostile attitude can very easily "scare off" people. Especially newcomers.
I try to make it a habit to report flaming and completely useless posts, personally, and I'd like to encourage you all to stop the ******** (I suppose the responsible people know well who they are) and do the same. I've been thinking the moderation here isn't the best (no offense) but that could simply be because the mods are human and can't possibly sift through the massive amount of posts and topics here. Let's help them out by reporting blatant spam, hm?
That's a possibility, but since the railroad is about 2600 blocks long now, (and probably isn't done yet) it'd be nice with something that could run unattended.
It occurred to me that it would be cool to have a way of using one rail line to go multiple places. I'm just not completely sure of the best way to "redirect" when already on the track, in full speed. (boosted)
At the moment, I'm simply using levers, but they're too hard to hit at that speed. Anybody got any better solutions?
On a friday at some point. (Someone had to say it...)
Damn you, I wanted to say that.. :sad.gif:
Anyway, Notch is away at the moment, isn't he.. so apparently the chances are very slim until he returns from his "travels." That should be within the next couple of days.
However, if the secret Friday update isn't a giant misnomer, I wouldn't be expecting it for at least a week from now. :smile.gif:
He rewrote the lighting engine ages ago. Moving lights are possible. Carryable light sources are possible. So are colored ones. He also talked about lanterns for permanent light, and torches burning out. I have said this at least three times before.
It's not impossible. It's a matter of when he'll implement it.
Most likely. That video thing was too retarded to load for me, so... I guessed. :tongue.gif:
Apart from BGM, those sounds are the only remotely "musical" ones, though, so...
Isn't it time to mention that the difficulty settings are actually a bit broken? Paradoxically, Normal (possibly even Hard) are easier than Easy. I think I read somewhere that Easy uses "easy mobs" but somehow spawns (f/tr)uckloads of them. Set it to Peaceful for no mobs at all, or to Normal for a more balanced experience.

It does count it and output to a text file in the "working directory", but I don't think you can limit that to a particular place.

Edit: hm, I've listened to a couple of the songs. It seems they select a few seconds and then loop it into a 5 minute song. Gets kinda boring imho.
Thanks for sharing, though.

Spiders that drop from ceilings... this brings to mind Gohma from Ocarina of Time :biggrin.gif:

It's a nice story, though.
