posted a message on Please calm my nerves (question about updating worlds)

As long as the gap between versions isn't large (for instance, 1.12 to 1.14) and the new version doesn't SPECIFICALLY say anything about changes to world generation, biomes and the terrain should be fine. Usually the only thing affected by small jumps in versions are redstone contraptions, and maybe mob spawner rooms.

1.14 has been known to be very laggy, but I'm sure they will iron that out upon release.

I found mine on the Skindex years and years ago under the tag "steampunk" but I gave it my own personal backstory. I'm an elvish engineer, which is not typical given that dwarves are normally the engineers in every RPG.

posted a message on New to PC

I don't know if PC Minecraft even supports controllers to be honest, but if it does it is super simple to set up (I'm also assuming that ps4 controllers work the same way as xbox ones but if they don't then sorry).

If it isn't a wired controller I don't know how to set those up either.

If you DO have a wired controller, or at least a spare USB cable to plug into the controller, plug your controller directly into any USB port on your computer. Usually with most games it automatically detects that your preferred input is a controller but like I said I don't even know if Minecraft supports controllers.

If this doesn't work you'll just have to do some deep Googling as someone else said.

posted a message on How much do you all terraform?

Most of my bases are usually underground, so I suppose digging it out counts. One time however I was playing on a Towny server, and I completely flattened a 250X250 block mountainous area. It took a few days, but eff. 5 and two other players helping made it seem not so bad. Here's what I built on that land, until the server eventually lost its playerbase.

    Edit: Built in survival

posted a message on Least Cheaty Way to Get More Glass?

Indeed the easiest way would be to spawn in a villager with custom trades. I'm not good with things like that, but I believe you would start with /summon and then add parameters detailing what trades the villager offers. You'll probably have to look at the wiki.

What you should do is spawn in an invincible custom villager and build a nice little shop for him to be in at your server's hub. That way anyone can come by and trade for the sand.

I think with commands you can even set it so that the trade does not get exhausted, i.e. it becomes locked until you trade something different. You would have to determine if essentially unlimited sand, so long as you have the emeralds, is beneficial for your server.

I wonder if the Lectern is for more than just reading books? It might be for copying them as well. That's the sort of recipe Mojang seems to be moving out of the crafting table.

This is much more speculative, but perhaps you could even copy enchanted books, at the cost of experience.

I wouldn't be surprised if banner copying gets moved to the Loom.

The Stonecutter is still bugging me. I can't imagine what it's for. There are no stone recipes I can think of that fit the profile for things Mojang is moving out of the crafting table... Polished stone?

I have a new (but improbable) theory about the stonecutter. Perhaps it will behave like the Chisel mod, allowing you to turn stone bricks into the cracked or chiseled versions, one at a time. This would streamline the crafting process, and allow for creating a very specific amount of them rather than in multiples of 4 or whatever it is.

posted a message on Mod`s but i`m still a noob

You can create a custom "profile" one the twitch app and search for individual mods to pick and choose to add to your profile. Trust me, once you get the hang of it you can add loads of mods very quickly with very little stability issues.

Not to burst your bubble, but gold equipment already has the ability to be much more enchantable than any other set. Check out the wiki.

That's a really nice build man. Strangely enough, my favorite part is the layered bushes and roses in the front, I've never seen something like that done before.

Thanks for all the theories guys! Having read your opinions, I believe it is very likely that these blocks are primarily used by villagers, it just makes sense.
