posted a message on help with display? april fools never fixed?

Hmm having the textures remain after April Fools is pretty weird. I'm sure you can go in and manually remove the files but like you said that would be tedious and leave room for error. I think the best advice I can give is to uninstall and reinstall Minecraft. If you are playing with mods, you will also have to reinstall those mods. And DO NOT FORGET to make a copy of your worlds before deleting Minecraft so they aren't deleted. If you don't know how to do that here's a quick rundown:

Search "%appdata%" in File Explorer (without quotes, and assuming you're on a PC).

Open the .Minecraft folder and locate a folder in it called "Saves".

All the folders in there are your worlds, copy them onto your desktop.

Delete the .Minecraft folder then download Minecraft again from Minecraft.net

Put those folders back into the new "Saves" folder (you may have to run Minecraft at least once in order for that folder to appear).

posted a message on Lever for turning off a trap?

A very sloppy way to do this would be to connect the lever in question to a piston that destroys redstone that is part of the trap's circuit. Of course, this would mean having to replace the piece of broken redstone whenever you want to re-arm the trap.

If you don't want to re-arm it I think you can use repeaters to accomplish this (but don't take my word for it I don't have much experience with locking repeaters). Extend the line of redstone on the trap to be able to fit a repeater in it somewhere. Then, make the lever power a repeater that is pointed into the repeater. Whenever you power the lever, the repeater in the trap's circuit should be locked, preventing redstone flow through it. Again, you will have to do a little research on that because I'm not 100% sure that that is how locking repeaters actually works.

posted a message on Roofed Forest Always Burns Down

Seems you just got unlucky. More than likely an above-ground lava pool spawns in the forest and sets surrounding trees on fire. For this to happen four times in different seeds though is pretty unlucky. It can also be lightning too, we can't rule that out.

I'm not accusing you of anything but in the picture it seems like you were the one who set the fires, because there is fire in the plains biome where it cannot naturally spread to and also it is highly unlikely for ALL the trees to burn down.

posted a message on Cant remember that Mod!

Hmm, I may be mistaken but I thought you could just right click the crop and it harvests the crop but leaves a seed planted, like most agricultural mods.

If I'm wrong about that though, you can use the Garden Gloche from the Immersive Engineering mod. It consumes water and power but it grows a single type of plant very rapidly, and automatically collects and replants it.

I think there is sometimes discounts for the mobile version but for the Java version they don't do discounts.

Haha from the title of the thread I thought your computer caught on fire. Glad that wasn't the case.

I like the mirage mechanic, not so sure on the mobs and biome features. Also, in my personal opinion, it has been long overdue for quicksand to be added to Minecraft so that would be a nice addition.

But yeah, if you want to be technical the goal of Minecraft is to kill the ender dragon.

posted a message on HELP: Opening a trapdoor with a pressure plate

Redstone dust is like electrical wiring in minecraft. Just place down a line of dust from the pressure plate to the trapdoor and the pressure plate will send a signal for the trapdoor to open.

posted a message on Finding underwater fortress

If you hop on a boat to find one you basically just have to keep your eyes peeled and get lucky. However, there is a neat little way of (sometimes) finding them. There is a type of villager called the "cartographer" that sells treasure maps. Treasure maps show you one point of interest in your world (including a water temple, but it could also be a jungle temple, and such). Try finding this villager and buying a lot of maps from him.

posted a message on Mob farm help

If you stand too close mobs won't spawn. Mob's don't spawn in a circular area 36 blocks around the player. Also if the player is too far away (180 blocks I think) mobs won't spawn. Also make sure the game is not on peaceful difficulty.

Oh, this biome can indeed be considered "rare"? I find dead trees all the time in Mesa biomes.

posted a message on Does anyone remember the first fatal blunder they've ever made in Survival Mode?

My very first time playing Minecraft (mind you, this was in Beta 1.7) I died before the first night even fell. How did I die you may ask? I punched a wolf thinking that it was hostile to start with but then it TURNED hostile, along with 6 other wolves in the vicinity. Scared the ever living heck out of me and I was ripped to shreds.

Well, Mesas exist in the normal game. But seeing as you have 17 mods installed, this plateau variant may be included in one of those.

posted a message on Cant find an automatic furnace i like

Honestly ScotsMisers post was too long to read for me but I think his main point was that the chests HAVE to be above the furnaces, not below, in order to make use of hoppers. I also agree with ScotsMiser that using minecarts isn't all that bad, its usually just as fast as hoppers and if you can't stand the noise they make you can turn off their sounds in the settings.
