    posted a message on Circles...
you can still use MCedit to make your 601 circle diameter just make a 100 diameter sphere and use it to make a cross then round off the edges

or you can use math, a 600 meter circle can hold a 428 meter square which would be the center of your arc, also you only have to make a quarter of it in order to make the full circle, so start off w/ a 300x300 square and then from one point of that square build a second square thats 214x214 (in a different material)
now you can build a grid 1 block on top of it spaced 20 meters apart so you have a grid of 20x20 over your 300x300
you should then be able to recreate this in paint or some other program, draw your circle on top of it and then match each 20x20 square w/ the picture

i use MCedit to make circles, they have an item called 'brush' that lets you set the diameter of the brush and you can make pretty much perfect spheres, delete the top half of the sphere and you have a circle made for you, its how i made my water castle (currently under construction)

i also have a book filled with graph paper in it that i use to create structures in at scaled models, it helps a lot; not only in planing out how much space its going to take but to get the overall idea created

posted a message on Building Roads (and fast travel)
Building structures in minecraft is something almost everyone does, building cities is left to the view and building worlds is rarely done. Minecraft has several problems with building on a large scale. Two that I am focusing on involve with transportation. Almost any city or world map requires a road system and while cobblestone works well in some settings, it doesn't work well in others, say a forest setting. Roads also can be quite large and you can eat through your stacks of 64 blocks easily while connecting areas. The other problem with blocks are that they have to be placed in the ground or built above ground, each way you choose you'll run into problems. The solution is easy enough and can fix several problems with how roads are currently done.

A new block. This block would be flat, similar to snow or a pressure switch and would act like Minecart tracks in the way that if place a block one level above or below the current block it would create a slanted slope. The block would also be crafted more effectively. Using only two blocks in order to create four tiles. With this new block type roads can be placed directly on top of current landscape as well as providing a new texture designed for roads. Speaking of textures this new block would come in different types such as wood, rock, snow, cloth(carpet), etc.

The other problem with large scale projects in Minecraft is the distance between areas. With this new block introduced a fast travel system will be put in place. Allowing for fast travel from one section of your map to another provided that they are connected by the same road. An object or block will be placed anywhere next to a road tile enabling a network of travel points around your Minecraft world.

    Structure for Road tiles:
    [] []
    :cobblestone: :cobblestone: --> :stone: x4
Note: can be made without a craft box
(Where stone is the new road tile.)

    Structure for Fast travel:

    :log: :log: :log:
    :log: :RedShroom: :log:
    :log: :Furnace: :log:

(Where log is wood and shroom is redstone)

If there is any thoughts on this subject then post below, feed back is welcome and if there is enough interest then a suggestion will be made to be put in game or a mod created.

if your tarp is already well enough to get sheep there, then just switch out your arrow ammo w/ snowballs, as for separating sheep from cows, someone else will have to help you there

Looks like the all-mighty 1 clock reigns supreme here. I don't think there is a model that can beat the 1 clock. It's pretty compact... Oh well, somebody will find a better version some day.

Edit: And why are there so many chickens in those pictures?

how compact are you wanting this? iv made a bunker thats 5x5 and shoots 16 turrets (4 in each direction) full auto w/ a lever as teh trigger. if you want to you can stack the turrets on each other turning your 16 into 30 (loss of 2 due to design but allows you to enter the bunker)

and teh chickens are there becuz when you fire (or throw) eggs they hatch into chickens

    bill of materials:
    redstone torch x20
    redstone wire x5
    dispensers x16-30
    blocks x2

    step 1: build the pulser

step 2: dig around the pulser 1 block down (2 where it meets the wires)

step 3: place a redstone torch in each of the holes

step 4: place dispensers over the torches

(remember that dispensers face YOU when you place them)

step 5: dig out 1 block below one of the pulser red torches and attach a lever to the wall touching redstone wire

and your done, a 16 turret bunker in a 5x5 space. just load it up, flick the switch and fire away

Hello everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed my video. I thank en3r0 for posting this in the forums. For those who still don't know how to assemble the circuitry here is a tutorial on how to build this specific model.
*It is currently still processing but should be available shortly.

yo that tutorial sucks man, 4 mins to set up that? w/ how many layers?

    pulser + switch + turret w/ a light underneath it = simple

    [diagrams are top down view]
    :--+: [] :--+:
    :Furnace: :|: :Furnace:
    :RFlower: :RFlower: :RFlower:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
    :Red: :RFlower: :Red:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:

    flower = wire
    torch = red torch
red block = block w/ wire on top
    stick = level (or plate)
    furnace = turret

    step 1: place 2 blocks 1 space apart :Logs^: [] :Logs^:

step 2" place torches attached to opposite sides of the blocks
    :--+: [] :--+:
    :Logs^: [] :Logs^:
    :--+: [] :--+:
(they must be sticking off teh side of the blocks)

step 3: place wire around the torches and blocks
    :RFlower: :RFlower: :RFlower:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
    :Logs^: :RFlower: :Logs^:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:

step 4: place wire on top of the blocks ( the pulser is now complete as you can see it pulsing)
    :RFlower: :RFlower: :RFlower:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
    :Red: :RFlower: :Red:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:

step 5: attach a switch to the wire (doesnt really matter where) and click the switch to turn off the pulser
    [] :|: []
    :RFlower: :RFlower: :RFlower:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
    :Red: :RFlower: :Red:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
(also you can continue the wiring further away and attach the switch or lever somewhere else)

step 6: attach your turrets (remember turrets face YOU when you place)
    :Furnace: :|: :Furnace:
    :RFlower: :RFlower: :RFlower:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
    :Red: :RFlower: :Red:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:

step 7: place a red torch infront (or below) your turrets
    :--+: [] :--+:
    :Furnace: :|: :Furnace:
    :RFlower: :RFlower: :RFlower:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
    :Red: :RFlower: :Red:
    :--+: :RFlower: :--+:
(placing them below the turrets allows you to stack them 2 high)

then just load your turrets w/ your favorite ammo (eggs, snowballs, arrows, cake), flip the switch and watch em fly

tips: placing red wire all around the pulser will allow you easy access to set up more turrets in other directions

building below hides most of the red torches and also allows for you to have a bunker to place storage or make for a get-away

It doesn't quite matter if he used MCedit or not, the TNT is TNT. It being in a sphere is what caused the spherical damage (which, if you look, is far from perfect). As for breaking through bedrock, the Wiki disagrees with you. It can theoretically be broken since it does have an absurd (but finite) amount of resistance. With the amount of TNT, I wouldn't be surprised. As for leftover blocks, the world cycles blocks out, given the immense number of blocks that would be left over (and the fact teh game crashed out) I think it is very possible teh game either 1) cleared all "dropped blocks" from the cache or 2) never had a chance to save the "dropped blocks" cache since it crashed.

i was doing tests yesterday trying to explode large amounts of tnt, using MCedit i built a bunker made of adminium. i used similar amounts of tnt as he did in the videoand the bunker kept me alive though the game would crash trying to handle that much tnt. when i returned to the game it would return me to the point of the explosion and crash again.

so i went small scale (10x10x10)

and i did them at sea lvl and the result is nothing like the video
here are some pictures of the aftermath, taken in teh MCedit program

[notice the debris? sandstone and gravel that isnt destroyed goes flying pretty far in all directions]

[does it resemble a sphere? sorta but nothing perfect as seen in the video]

so how do you make something that looks like the video?

that look close enough to you? of course im sure he used some tnt to make it look 'convincing' but spherical crater does not tnt make

saw that vid he broke through Adminium! Thats legit :smile.gif:

***Woot Iam a coal miner now :biggrin.gif:***

that is not a legit video, he used a program called MCedit. in that program theres a tool that lets you create spheres of objects, including tnt and air (to dig out that area). tnt in minecraft doenst xplode in a sphere it explodes in square-sphere type shapes. after a 'large' explosion you can see something of a sphere but a cube is defiantly the defining shape left behind. also if he did set that off legit, it would not of broken through the bedrock and there would be many left over blocks to pick up (dirt and cobblestone are everywhere w/ tnt explosions). The swiss cheese of the underground is either done by the brush tool in MCedit similar to the crater or by a mod that creates massive cave networks similar to that.

though im not sure if this would be the case becuz this theory involves living items being effected by non living items. the fact that this is just a program means that it doesnt have the same outcome. i say you run this test 10 times and record the results, if anything interesting happens run it again
