Looks interesting, I hope it's a per-existing structure with possible treasure inside. And hostile enemies. While the introduction of the Nether has always confused me, this is a nice addition. -

What the minecraft fanbase will say
if Bethesda loses: LOLOLOLOL BETHESDA SUCKS AT GAMING THEY SHOULDNT MAKE GAMES BECAUSE THEY SUCK MINECRAFT MINECRAFT MINECRAFT!!!
if Mojang loses: TOTAL BS THE GUYS AT BETHESDA TOTALLY CHEATED THEY SUCK **** LOLOLOOLOL THEY ARE SO STUPID AND SUCK AT EVERYTHING IN LIFE!!!
I'm positive this is what they will say, if Bethesda even agrees to this.
I'm pretty sure that will happen too. If Bethesda agrees with Notch, I will have respect for them again, whether they win or lose. -

Solving issues over a simple game rather than a lawsuit or a war is far from immature. -

Really Notch? For something as serious as a lawsuit, you're going to play a game to solve it? How immature can you get?
And you guys are supporting it?
If a war between two countries could be settled by a game of Quake, would you still say it's immature? -

Jul 20, 2011rikachu posted a message on Notch Reveals Leveling and PermadeathBut what are we leveling up for?Posted in: News
That is the big question... what's worth grinding over? I am afraid that with the leveling system we will either have extremely powerful characters or really really weak characters. Unless the hostile mobs also display level.
Don't get me wrong, I love rougelikes, but I just hope Notch implements this well. I feel like this could either make or break the game. Minecraft is not quite an rpg just because there is a leveling system either, there are many more steps to making an rpg; it's not just the leveling system. It's best we make judgements when 1.8 is released.
And I know most of you are jumping the gun here so I'm going to quote this snippet:
The Minecraft developer is still figuring out how players will level. “I’m not entirely sure on how the levelling is going to work, because that part isn’t as fun. We’re trying to figure out something that is fun, and kinda lightweight. We’re thinking of getting an automated XP system. It’s not implemented in any way that makes any kind of sense at the moment.”
Adding progression and permadeath could be a risky move for Minecraft’s vast playerbase. I asked Notch whether he’s concerned about ruining the purity of the game he’s created.
“It’s the biggest risk,” he acknowledges. “We have to make sure that it’s fun, and as streamlined as possible. I kind of figured out that a really good test of what works or not is when I go back to 1.7.3 – the previous version. If it feels like it’s lacking that feature, if it feels like it should be in there.
“But it’s what I like about roguelikes, like Nethack – everything is dangerous.” -

Where are you from?: California
Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: You get closer to people if you play with a tight knit community. Servers are much more fun if everybody knows each other!
What is your favorite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: I like vanilla Minecraft because it feels genuine and unchanged compared to other servers with a boat load of mods and plugins.
Tell us something about yourself: I'm 19 years old and have been playing Minecraft since Alpha. I've been on and off since then, and haven't been part of a server community for a while and would like to again. Since I have been playing since Alpha, I am a fairly experienced player and I consider myself a nice person to speak to.
Why should we accept you?: I have been on other white listed servers before and have been nice friends with other communities, I'm sure it can happen again here. Also, I like to build things and would like to help around building structures for the server.
Let me know if you need more information.

I think gunpowder is fine as it is, mainly because it keeps TNT a bit of a hassle to obtain in most cases. Which is honestly a good thing, considering how powerful TNT can be.

But actually, it looked like it could be lots of fun, and I was right.

After the first encounter, navigating temples/pyramids will no longer pose a challenge and retrieving treasure will be very easy, and not exciting.
I'm assuming the pathways of the dungeons have little to no generation. The hallways and rooms within each dungeon need to be randomly generated, so the player will never know what to expect for each dungeon.
The dungeons need to be larger and contain more traps. Once again, if the dungeons are small and contain the same traps over and over again, it will become so easy overtime that there might as well not be any traps at all.
Unique treasure only to that specific dungeon. Gives a larger incentive to explore these dungeons.
I know completing this list would be time-consuming, but I think the payoff would be exceptional. Right now, the current state of the dungeons are exciting at first, but boring after a few more encounters.

But I'm pretty sure the exp you get from an enderdragon is more so a bug than a game play error.
They should either make it so you receive less exp from mining/smelting/whatever, or increase the level cap.

I'm not sure if 30 is a great cap either, but 50 was far too much.
