Once you are around the intermediate stage, go out in the night with iron armor and an enchanted sword (iron or better) and go to war against mobs. A bow would also be helpful.

Or, you can go into the nether & fight pigmen, That's how I do it, because they are always there, and gang up on you, and have good drops.

posted a message on Does anyone else miss when Minecraft was simpler?
Forget 1.6, the good ol' days were back in 1.1 and before, when I joined. I remember hiding in my little box house all night, being very scared each time I heard a monster. And the time I first found diamonds, or bedrock...

posted a message on The bow needs rework
You need to actually hit your target. Swords are really easy to use, just charge and click. Bows you are vulnerable at close range, and running shots are really hard to get. Also, the arrow drops, and the accuracy isn't always the same, so you have to take those variables into mind.

    posted a message on Nameplates
There should be an option to disable them instead, because if you are following a friendly player, or surviving together, you can get lost extremely easy without viewing their nameplate. A better idea would be able to have a list where you can mark who is able to see your nameplate, and who isn't.

posted a message on Villagers giving quests
Simple: Talk to a villager (left click for example) and they will ask you to perform a task, such as gathering resources, like a stack of planks, glass, stone, ect. And when you return your resources to the villager, you will be awarded with something of more value than what you collected. Each time you get a quest from the same villager, it becomes more difficult (gathering obsidian, farming wheat) but it yields a greater reward.

posted a message on Is the ending an act of laziness?
Minecraft has reached the point where Mojang is rolling in a fortune. I've seen this with COUNTLESS other developers/companies (CoD for example) that crap out on their fans, and abandoning their game to indulge in their cash. Is this happening to Minecraft? I mean think about it for a second. Credits in a sandbox/survival game? Especially when the game has NO limit to what can be accomplished? Also, the lack of storyline and plot make the credits confusing and irrelevant. Did they think of this, and throw this down in a matter of hours to "complete" their game? I think they got a bit lazy, and satisfied with their earnings, and ceased it with the ending. *sigh.* :c Discuss the matter.
