Basically, I'd really love a mod whose only purpose is to disable specific items from spawning, being crafted, or even showing up in JEI. The config should be simple enough. Every line is one item or block written by the end user. Minecraft:Iron_Pickaxe (assuming I got that right) would disable the user from finding or crafting an iron pickaxe.
The main reason I'd like this is to allow a mod, but possibly disable more OP items within it. I'm using AutomatedResourcesRemastered because it's very useful with Mystical Agriculture. Unfortunately, It ads stuff like diamond generators which gives you a free diamond every minute. Cool... but a tad much... and that's the cheapest generator... lol
If anyone does this, I'll freak. This is easily one of my all time favorite mods. I loved the immortal tools, and more stereotypical witches. The spiders alone... good god, they're creepy.
I've yet to see anything quite like this, as simplistic as the idea is. Basically, someone needs to design a mod that allows players to generate a new world, and spawn in next to a single predesignated structure (a schematics file of their choosing). For instance, there are a number of crash landing modpacks, either from a spaceship on a desert planet, or a boat/plane onto a deserted island. There should be a mod that allows the packer to assign a structure (a crashed vehicle, for instance) next to the player when the world loads for the first time. This could obviously be a building, as well.
There should be an option to protect the structure from the player breaking it, as well. Just because you've got a crashed shuttle doesn't mean you get free blocks of iron... This option can also include an optional message to the player; "You're thinking of hitting a damaged, nuclear fueled shuttle with a pickaxe? Are you out of your mind?"
I was thinking there would have to be a waterworld, or island world gen, as Mojang did... basically fix that annoyance where you spawn underwater 9-10 times. lol
What if you lived underwater, and could not breath air? Added features might be a mer-tail, underwater plant life for food, etc., fish that attack, and maybe some sort of water-bubble gun to create over-world 'fish tanks'. You could also add differing biomes underwater, and flood caves so you could mine them. Bio-luminescent plant-life could be especially useful down there.
An underwater mod could also have things like sunken ships, sunken treasure, and maybe mythology lore, like Neptune, or something. You could even add an air-diving suit with water tanks for limited surface excursions.
Yes, but that makes the one running the mod have to mess about in the configs. I was thinking of something a bit more plug n play that any idiot can run. It would also only take care of the first part of my post.
There's one thing Minecraft has always been missing. You kill a zombie, and get useless (basically) zombie flesh. It would be nice if there were a mod that did what most RPGs, and Rogelikes do, and give all hostiles a chance to drop items like swords and armor, etc. Catching the occasional gold stuff is pretty underwhelming. You can even make it compatible with the Levels mod, allowing mobs to drop gear with random strength, or the Weopon Case Loot mod for a more diverse drop list.
That being said, you're going to have an inventory full of junk. So what ever happened to RPG salesmen? No one's thought of that? You can make the different villagers specialize in different products, but buy and sell just like an old RPG GUI. Yes, that means adding a currency, but those mods are available, too.
I know LootBags exist, but the loot tables are a little strange, and it doesn't have the same feel as a legit mob drop.
If all that is done, and you want to increase the RPG feel, you can make everything purchasable, delete all of the recipes over stone, and make all of the ores/gems only good for profit.
Disable the Deconstruction mod. It's done that to me as well. As an alternative, I'd suggest Full Throttle Alchemist. It's the update to DartCraft. It takes longer, and is more complex, but it will do the same job, with some perks.
Is the modder some kind of evil djinn, or something? Ruins needs you to convert schematics to template files, then proceeds to not spawn them. Recurrent Complex, though better than Ruins, tends to ignore them completely, and Restructured only adds them to villages, and glitches out air blocks, replacing them with random modded, and unmodded blocks (including NetherPortals...). Placemod actually does exactly what it says! I didn't think it was possible. Not only does every schematic run... without having to convert it... they actually spawn in world... without leaving a square crater, or glitching, or needing to find a village. Plus, I'm getting no fps spikes at all, and I'm using a few rather large schematics.
Could someone tell me how to add CrazyOres into VeinMiner? Adding the Item ID via the in-game console added them to the config, but it didn't do anything. I tried changing the # to crazyores:# in the config, but that did nothing. Am I missing something?
I've decided keep this thread in order allow people to access to all of my modpacks at once. I've been using Technic so people can simply download, and play through their launcher, but there are so many issues with download links, it has become a serious pain in the butt. So, without further ado...
Night Terrors:
"This is meant to be a full immersion modpack, and resource pack. The resource pack is a compilation of textures and music I've compiled from many places, all to scare the nether out of you.
I'm still working on the mods, but so far, you can anticipate swarms of freakish mobs with varying skills and armor, lots of farm fresh foods, lots of storage, some automation, some epic weaponry and tools, some nice decor, some sweet dungeons, and perhaps even some beasts long since extinct."
"You awaken on an alien planet... very alien. Your buddies must have pulled an epic prank on you. Hopefully you will see them again to enact your revenge, but for now, there is a strange odor in the air, and that 'cow' is seriously starting to freak you out. You need shelter, and you could do with some food... though eating anything from this planet might not be the most brillant idea...
Quite simply, this is a modpack based around a resource pack. It's design is specifically to make you question your decisions... like downloading this modpack...
Originally compiled for my nephew, I made it weird, as weird as I could get it. None of the animated textures are mine, and I can't give credit, as I never bothered taking the names down since this was never intended to go public. All of the other textures are my own, including the two liquids."
I'm trying to blacklist a block (236, or the Thaumcraft Aura Node) so when I mine a tree, it doesn't break that one block. I tried to /veininer blocklist remove, but that didn't do it.
This is my first resource pack. It's meant to be very realistic. The trees, plants and flowers are very pretty, and realistic. The stone and ores are seamless, and I even added some great music.
Touching the scroll teleports you to a brand new world
Each world is randomly generated much like a Mystcraft book with no pages, with regular and modded biomes and dungeons all mixed together
Each world has a Rift Dungeon you must search for (a few chunks away in a random direction from the spawn point)
Defeat the dungeon, and it's boss, and collect the loot
As soon as you return through the Rift the random world will be deleted along with it's scroll. No going back, ever.
Write another scroll, and keep going
Basically, it's like a dungeon world mod, and Mystcraft all in one. It has the appeal of Mystcraft, without all the tediousness of design and page storage.
Possible tweaks:
Making more chaotic worlds using more useless materials for the Rift Scroll ink.
Gilding a Rift Scroll with gold nuggets, or a diamond for a more challenging dungeon with better loot
Infection Stone: You can take it to a world, and if you like it, activate the stone. It will work like a Pandora's Box when you activate it again in the real world, altering the world around you by taking a few random traits from the Rift world.

I miss this mod so much, but I can't go back to 1.6.4. No one is making anything new for it. I seriously love this mod.
