What? No seriously what? What doesn't have a Utilities folder?
I do believe he means the standard utilities that come with OSX... which is quite strange. If this is true, it's time to find the install disks that should have come with your computer and reinstall the utilities from there.
Yeah, thats the weird thing. I can run minecraft, indev, custom clients, etc, just not infdev.
I'll try to find a way to reinstall/find this stuff
GIANT water bears sound interesting, both for the mount and armor aspects. I think pig size would work fine, or sheep size. It's a kinda unique thing to see in a game...
The ant idea is fun too, you'd need to make a firewall or the like, I'd hope that they burn up really fast. flying mobs are fine as long as they're pretty rare, and don't go over a certain height in the case of bees. Honey sounds awesome.
or for the ants make a little basement shelter you can retreat to as they pass through your base.
Yeah, the bees, I was thinking about only having them leave the hive area, if they are attacking someone, who was attacking the hive.
That way if you don't want to deal with flying mobs, you don't have to, y'know?
Sorry to pop your happy bubble, but water bears are microscopic. I believe that they were the smallest multi-cellular creature as well. So I am not sure why we would need water bears, because they wouldn't do anything due to their size...
Huge ones. Like pig size, or bigger.
I mean, spiders arent bigger than a person in real life either.
Army ants would be really damn cool, provided they aren't attacking you.
Yeah. Like maybe a very rare megagroup, that marches around the map, maybe joining if they run into another group. The sheer numbers would make them unfightable, so unless you had a base you could completely seal, you would need to run.
So, infdev won't work for me, I can get up to loading the level, but the load bar gets almost to the end, the screen goes black, and thats it.
Oh, and mac, osx.
Any ideas whats wrong? :|
Long time lurker here. I was thinking mobs that work in a tight group would be interesting.
For example
Piranhas
swarm in large bodies of water, gang up on players, etc
Giant bees
I was thinking, they spawn near/ inside huge nests. The nest itself could possibly function as a building material, and it could have honey blocks, that either slow down a player (think harmless lava), or can be eaten for health.
The bees themselves would be about pig size, but only take up a 2x1 area, so they can pour in your fortress if you have holes. Bees would be nonaggressive, unless you got too close to the hive.
Giant army ants
Spawn in massive traveling groups, make a horrific insect noise, and attack all mobs and player in their way. Imagine like 100, or way way more 1x1 ants pouring toward a castle. Maybe be able to walk up walls?
I was thinking have all the mobs that spawn in large groups travel around the map (except for the bees) so someone isn't stuck with the uncrossable piranha river, or having a base permanently surrounded by ants.
Oh, and, giant waterbears. (not in a group)
What is a waterbear you might ask? It is a real animal, that can survive being boiled, frozen, launched into outer space, and massive amounts of radiation. They look like a kidney bean with 6 little elephant legs. Look it up on wikipedia.
Anyway, rare waterbear mobs would be pretty awesome. Maybe very slow moving, immune to lava, fire, and tnt, with a humoungous amount of health. Perhaps nonagressive unless attacked?
Some waterbear armor would be awesome.
Oh, and as far as mountable mobs go, ostriches would make an awesome mob. They are fast, and seem like graphically they could fit in. Maybe they could be a semi-rare mountable desert mob?
and, is it just me, or would it be awesome to have honey badgers? Imagine them being like the most rare, aggressive and dangerous single mob in the game. (if you don't get the joke, look up honey badger on youtube, they are the most hardcore animals ever)

Thanks.
I have one for ants too, but the board says its ''attachment quota has been reached''

But seriously, enemy variants sound cool. I don't know if we would want stronger skeletons though. They already seem a bit overpowered.

Ooh, I like the wax idea.
Maybe it could also be used for better torches, or candles or something.
Oh, and i updated the first post
