custom ships - whole originals - not customizeable ships, and I wanted to know if the TNT cannons would work, not if they would be obsolete.
You build ships block by block, but if frost(sorry if I'm wrong about it being you again) gets his way then (I think) the blocks will be organized into modules with their own health and such, which I think would work well.
The first thing I thought of using that for was warp drives (I may have the wrong name), or engines that fold space. Even though I know warp drives probably won't be added, that seems like an awesime way to travel and maybe even see things that are far away (but within the render distance).
I think the shape is good (except the engine positions, it looks wierd with the top one sticking out), but the block choice seems odd, the stairs don't go with the iron blocks very well and the glowstone-lantern-thingies dont look that good either (maybe replce them with normal glowstone). Mostly, though, the obsidian just seems out of place, either it's a iron ship or a obsidian bunker (that can fly :wink.gif: ), but not both.
ROFL! Great pamphlet. I'll think about buying some. :smile.gif:
Agreed about the pamphlet. I think when this gamemod comes out there will be a huge market for premade ships... I think I'll just steal ships, sell them off secondfirst hand, then buy some ships like these, it's much easier and they'll look much nicer, because the ship really does looks nice, though maybe a bit plain, but nothing some paint can't fix! (Run-on sentence for the win!)
Well, almost done building my Companion class Corvette, a cheap and reliable weapons platform with fighter launching capabilities.
Only problem is, I've populated the Bridge areas and the forward hangar section, but I'm at a loss as to what to put at the section below the Bridge. Two levels, and the only things I can think of are - An Engineering Bay, A Drive Bay, Secondary Command, Barracks, Recreational facilities, and Docking. This still leaves a ton of space left :sad.gif:
Any ideas?
I want a download! It looks like it would be fun to explore, but for the extra space how about a complete armoury of battle armour, a bigger hanger (you can never have enough fighters/dropships), a room for all the computers, a cafeteria/area for soldiers to eat, a room for the shield generator, some trading storage or trading areas, a viewing deck, a security room, or even a reserved level just for the captain's quarters :steve_wink:.
I believe frost (Re-edit: Frost corrected me, it was Mackeroth's idea) is planning to make obsidian the same as it is on earth, which means it will be about as hard as glass. So... It's great for armour plating! (As long as I'm the one fighting you...)
So wait, you're using Copernicus. What is the limit of this? Will my i3 350m be able to render an invasion fleet of 500,000+ block ships? (Yes, I have read most of the thread; says nothing about the requirements)
From what I've read it will handle the fleet (possible on extremely high settings) almost as well as it can handle vanilla minecraft, possibly vanilla on the absolute lowest settings.
Thanks for explaining that, but how will you deal with the center of the worlds? Will it just be a bunch of lava so no one realises how distorted the blocks would be?
Edit: Will the compasses be changed so they point north?
fr0stbyte124; What you are doing is truly amazing. You really should hear that every single day, and you will once more people realize and understand what exactly it is that you are doing. This poor little Minecraft Engine, it's being warped and outright bent & folded into shapes it's creator never even imagined, heh heh. :wink.gif:
Pretty much the moment I went to fr0stbyte124's dev log, I realized he was a genious, and was doing amazing things.
If anyone has any specific questions or concerns regarding the abilities of the Futurecraft engine, I would be happy to explain what we are doing in greater detail.
Things I can talk about:
Large flyable ships, concurrent worlds and portals, collision/physics model, spherical and finite planet creation, space, inter-server travel, enhanced render engine, improved network protocol.
Well, this is a very unconventional way to transport objects.
1. The speed in which data can travel:
The fastest way to transfer data with by light speed, it would take thousands of years by transfering data that was.
2. Cloning:
is very risky when using a teleporter. Atoms can be placed in the wrong order and you will be either deformed or killed.
3. The amount of data:
Just teleporting a human would take thousands or millions of terabytes. Super computers maybe, but transporting fleets would be extraordinarily complicated and the facility needed to do all of this would be huge.
4: The cost of energy
Lots and lots of energy.....
Just making a wormhole or a "space wave would be best"
Ok, lets just use ships, whatever saves more power is better.
You are all looking at it wrong. You should not be moving your ship through space; you should be moving space around your ship.
Why do we need to move anything? If we can transfer data we can "teleport" (clone our selves with perfected cloning technology with all our memories in another location, while eliminating the original) to other locations. The only problem with this is that we wouldn't be able to take the ships or items with us, meaning ships would all be short range and the biggest resource cost would be to the recieving location, as the clone would need to rebuild any equipment they wanted.
P.S. I really like the idea for the battle armour, imagine a server of them dropping down from a ship in orbit to take over a planet.
I've been reading this thread for a while (few months) and have only skipped maybe 20 pages, just as a backround.
(It's a long post, deal with it and look in the spoiler.)
SALE! Buy one Tarus-class dropship, get one free! Guaranteed no dorpships!
Last_Jedi_Standing Industries
Quality shipbuilding since 114 BBY
Well, not useless, but you don't need a battlecruiser to kill a creeper. They would still look epic, and I do want them in SSP.
The mod would probably add solar systems and planets, along with ships, but anyway I'll take a Corellia-class frigate (if possible could you give me one that's mostly solar powered and slightly modular, so I can replace the weapon systems?) and two Tarus dropships (if anyone happens to buy one off my, I swear didn't convert it to a dorpship) will 1000 crocite blocks be enough?
I have a problem with controls. Im playing on laptop so i dont have the numpads and the "done" button is blocking some controls. How can I change them?
Hey, i finally got it working, installed Zipline then it stopped working. but between the zipline and the zeppelin i also did i major redownload so i can't be sure thats the issue, i installed it the same way i usually did, c.class in the minecraft java and the zip with just metarotation, zeppelin (folders) and mod_zeppelin.class. The items come through ingame but then have an error saying i have installed incorrectly.
Mods ive got running are; Zipline,Mo'creatures,Toomanyitems,Zeppelin. Any help please?
It sounds like you put the zeppelin zip in the minecraft jar, the zip goes in the mods folder. It's also ok to leave the c.class in the zip after putting it in the jar, that may be causing your problem, but probably not.
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem.
If you wish to report this, please copy this entire text and email it to [email protected].

I had just installed the mod and modloader and this came up any advice/help.
The controller is occupying it's own slot, this happens a lot so judging by past answers you put mod_Zeppelin.class in the .jar, which you aren't supposed to do, if i'm wrong someone else will be able to help you... Also, have you put this mod in your mods folder twice?

I thoght it was just mojam? And what's that song from, Last_Jedi_Standing?

As far as I know, there are going to be solar panels, but they won't provide anywhere near enough power to keep a ship going indefinitely.
Edit: Man, it's been a slow day...

Now that I look at the picture instead of the name, I think it needs more windows and more of a curved look.
You may want to look at ComputerCraft for the ship computers, it may make less work for you in the future.
