Hey, you know that the 1.2.5 "snapshot" is going to be exactly the same as the official release on thursday, right?
I'm only saying this because the wording in the OP makes me think that you are literally "waiting" for the update. If im herping a derp then just ignore this post.
Cheers.
my only issue (and it's a big one) is that it will violently crash minecraft to the point that i have to restart my computer... anyone else having this problem?
im using an '09 MacBook Pro running Lion, 2.26 GHz Intel core 2 Duo processor with 4 Gigs of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB video card.
the other mods i was using was MCPatcher, Modloader, AudioMod, & Optifine...
also, as a aspiring sound designer, i love this mod and everything it stands for. great work!
Hey, first off, i'd like to say that i love the pack, it looks great. but since you havent really posted recently, it feels as though you've moved onto better things... so if you no-longer wish to continue the pack i'd be happy to "try" to keep it alive.
i've updated it a little for my own personal pack (that i have notyet posted w/o your, Jobs2k, & Soulscribes's permission) if you wish to see it, let me know and i'llPM you a link o it via Dropbox.
all i did really is shop several different textures (from yours as well as FXStrato's textures, it's my way of "staying true to the original feel" of RezCraft; and i even added some new lightmaps for use with MCPatcher. it looks really good, i made it so the sky is completely black and even-light from the sun and torches. i think you'll be pleased.
Cheers.
Why does it say in the OP that we can't just plop it into the mods folder? that's where i put it (purely in defiance >=P) and it works fine?
(i haven't seen a season change yet though, so we'll see what happens there).
Mods used:
MCPatcher (mostly as a mod installer (im lazy))
Optifine
Modloader
Smart Movement (awesome mod)
Treecapitator
As far as I know mcpatcher only accepts ".zip" not ".rar", so yeah that might be the problem
My apologies, i forgot to say that i opened the .rar and compressed the files into a .zip then put that in my mods folder.
it works sorta, what i mean is; i get the mod to work, but in autumn the grass stays the same and in winter, it rains but snow still forms on the ground (but not on the trees... strange)
Other than that, it's fine; deserts in the summer still hurt as well as winters in snow biomes cause frostbite. And i can craft the thermometer and the season watch.

Hello,I am currently rewriting the mod, to make it a bit more easy to update. Therefore i am trying to move the code out of the original minecraft classes. I am as well thinking about releasing the source code after that. So the next version will probably be beta and as much open source as possible (it will not reveal any original minecraft classes). I will update as soon as i am ready, so please do not spam the thread with any please update messages.
You should totally add it to the MCPatcher!
=D
EDIT:
this is for the Water Shader Mod btw.
Would possibly require a re-write of the lighting engine. Custom coloured light seems to be impossible as it is now. A per-block lightmap is a waste of space, lightmaps in general are a waste of space. The best would be to have a config file to define a light-color and light-level per block ID. Something like:
50 #FF0000 14
Which would mean "Block 50" (a torch), emits red light, at light level 14.
The best hope for this is when the official modding API is launched.
Program-wise, it's actually better to use sprite maps. Gifs store some additional data that you might not need, which is a waste of space. (However little waste it might be.) However, gifs do give the author some control over animation speed and such, which is an advantage to png sprite maps.
as I said, im no coder nor a programmer, but what you said actually makes a lot of sense (especially the 1st part), i like it. and as far as the .gif goes that's basically what i want, more control over speed of the animation. these are good methods to look into.
I have an idea that may make things much MUCH simpler for us texture-pack maker/contributors:
1) instead of the current 3 lightmaps, why not several individual lightmaps for each object that emits light. (one for torch, one for fire, one for glowstone, etc.)
2) somehow allow .gifs for use as the custom animated textures (it's vary tedious and repetitive the way it is now)
im no coder and i am completely java illiterate, i only mean to better this amazing free mod with constructive-criticism. Please take these thoughts/suggestions into consideration. Thank you
looks great!
but how do i install it on mac?
i can't find my minecraft.jar! where i that?
the easiest way to install a mod such as modlaoder (i assume that is the one you are having trouble with seeing as how this mod doesn't require cracking open the minecraft.jar file)
is to simply use the patcher. to do this, download the latest MCPatcher: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-181-19pre4update-1016-mcpatcher-hd-fix-220/
then click the (+) at the bottom of the mod list,
find modloader & add it in,
click "patch" and your good to go on that part.
The next part is dreadfully simple;
make sure it says "Finder" up top next your apple logo,
click "GO" and hold the "Option" key you will then see "Library",
click that and look for "Application Support",
then fine your "minecraft" folder,
in it should be a "mods" folder (if not then just make one), literally drop the .zip into the "mods" folder. done.
But I have one question, I have passed the Guild, and around half way through building Tier 2 kingdom, which has taken me a good many hours of mob grinding and plant sapling > bone meal tree grinding, which is fine but getting to the question, when you release the rest of the mod, will people have to start over? or will there be a way to resume from this save file?
Lol, i love how dreadfully simple this is to install, i actually had a hard time with it. =P
Awesome Mod btw, i love it.
i was only disappointed that it's not compatible with pre4, but that's ok since 1.10 is (literally) right around the corner.

Hello Misa, I have been a fan of yours for some time now and I would like to use your Font file for a texture Pack collaborative I have been involved in, you will have the credit for it, so don't worry.
this is the collab.: DokuCraft: The Saga Continues
