Important note - this procedure works on a freshly updated Minecraft. For more complex installation, in particular with other mods, it may be preferable to use the manual procedure.
1. Download all the client BuildCraft packages that you want to install.
2. Download the Minecraft mod pack installation assistant from http://www.mediafire..._installer.jar.
3. Download the latest BuildCraft mod pack description from http://www.mediafire...aft-2.2.1.pack.
4. Double click on the file mod_pack_installer.jar. If that doesn't work, you probably need to install Java, from http://www.java.com/...nload/index.jsp
5. Select the pack that you want to install
6. You will now see all the files required. You may miss some BuildCraft packages, or some dependencies. Click on the "Download" button to get the files that are missing, and then "Refresh".
7. Once everything is green, the "Install" button should be clickable. Click on it. Let it do the magic!
Copied from the instructions of Buildcraft 2.2.1 I highly recommend using the automatic installation. Start with a fresh install of minecraft, then use the mod_pack_installer.jar given and it will install it for you. Then I installed Single Player Commands using a similar technique. Next, I installed TooManyItems. Everything works GREAT. Try it like that and see if you have any luck.
I know this has been done before, I have used it. It was something along the lines of a "bait box" to attract mobs. I make a lot of traps and farm the animals for their resources in a factory of mob spawners. You can only get the mobs to spawn if you are within something like 20-25 blocks away from it. I am wondering if there is either 1. a way to increase this number so I could be for example 50 blocks away 2. a mod that can be made to attract the mobs from further away.
I would LOVE to be able to bait mobs into my traps from a 50-100 block radius. If possible :wink.gif:
You can do a three pipe forced insertion into a chest like this:
= iron pipe
= bounce pipe (unpowered)
= insertion pipe
= um... duh?

If the chest gets too full the items will just be held in this system, without falling out or backing up into your sorting system.
You could even add one of Eloraam's redstone pipes into the system to flag an overflow:
= redstone pipe
= stone/cobblestone pipe (to prevent bounce pipe from being turned on by the redstone pipe)

I used this to help me save space and some resources.
I hope my suggestion helps.
Nice, I will definitely give this a try. Can't wait till this is (if it will be) updated to 2.0.1 I am liking the new features it has. You would think they would have added this all by now.
For those interested in this mod. I have found another alternative that I am really happy with other than Zombes Modpack Sun Control method. Instead of using MCPatcher to enable HD textures I use OptiFine HD_F and if you go through the settings there is an option for Day Only, Night Only, or Normal.
It would be easier to make a freeze time keybind mod. So if you press a button, like "T" it would stop time, and it you pressed it again, it would resume.
That would be awesome too. I wish it where just a command already in Single Player Commands.
I think I could latch this on to my realistic time mod. All of the stuff is there. However, I think it should have three states - night, day, and "business as usual". Of course, I'm not sure how you'd deal with having more than one of these in a given world...
I was thinking about that and it totally makes sense. At first I thought maybe a block that had something similar to a redstone repeater on top of it for more than just on and off. Or if maybe you can simply have it only be effective when it is powered by a redstone torch?
Lol I don't know a thing when it comes to Java, I really hope someone here chooses to make this. I would LOVE to use it. I've got quite a few more ideas, I will work on putting them up. Thanks.
I use Single Player Commands (SPC) a lot and love being able to just type in "time day" and it be daytime again. Even easier I have bound it to a keyboard stroke. I have been wondering if there was any way of freezing time. For example instead of resetting the time back to 00:00, a lever could be flipped to change between night and day and keep it there.
I would imagine it to be a bit like this.
I don't know if this has already been done, or if it is even possible but it seems feasible. I think it would be pretty helpful for those just wishing to build in peace, or survive 30 days of night without the need of typing in a command every time Minecraft is ready to change from day to night, VERY OFTEN.
Thanks for any interest in this project, please let me know if you choose to take it on.
A lot of people are having problems getting the Aether to work due to Single Player Commands incompatibility. Everything installed correctly for me, however when I went to go make a portal to the Aether the water would just flow instead of forming the portal.
1. Started with fresh minecraft install
2. Deleted META-INF
3. Installed ModLoader
4. Installed ShockAhPI r5
5. Installed AudioMod
6. Installed Aether mod
7. Ran the game confirmed it worked
8. Installed TooManyItems
9. Installed Single Player Commands
10. Installed other misc mods...
I think what made it work is the fact that I installed the Aether mod first. For some reason now my portals work fine, all the items show up in TMI. SPC works fine... and the Aether is pretty awesome. Not saying this will work for everyone, but if you are having trouble getting it to all work. Give this a try, and remember to backup :wink.gif:

Yes! However I would still LOVE to see a stand-a-lone mod for this. Thanks for your help.
