I'm not gonna change my password because I have 1 password shared across all of my devices and due to my bad memory it takes a long time to burn a password into my memory. Besides, the exploit is already fixed so why should a change it.
Because your password may have been seen before the exploit was fixed. In any case, having 1 password for everything is dangerous. All it takes is for somebody to guess that 1 password and then they have everything from game logins to credit card and bank info. If you have trouble remembering passwords there are tools that can help with that, LastPass for example.
It affects everyone

A basic piece of criticism I can make though is that you need to work on your shading. All your blocks seem to either have no or very little shading at all, and that doesn't look good.

You'd need to:
Run Linux off the PS3, which either requires getting an older version of the PS3 firmware, or finding a modded one online, and then burning ISOs for it and a Linux distribution. Then, you'd have to install the firmware and Linux. Then you'd have to install Minecraft, or I suppose you could try and emulate the XBLA version. Plus if you didn't want to use a mouse and keyboard you'd need a program that converts the Dualshock controller's buttons into mouse and key presses.
If you'd like to know why the game is a Microsoft exclusive, it's because Mojang had/has neither the time nor the money nor the experience to develop the game for consoles. That's where Microsoft stepped in and offered to help with development through 4J Studios. Had Sony given a similar offer then we have seen MC as a PS3 exclusive instead; but, they didn't, so we don't.

If your world was created before then, you'll still get the abrupt changes in geography/biomes/etc though.

No one here is complaining about bookshelves needed for enchanting. The issue is that it is now much harder to get bookshelves for purely decorative reasons. Such as xX-Callisto-Xx, who needed something like 20 stacks of bookshelves for a project. That's sixty stacks of leather. If bookshelves were only used for enchanting then there wouldn't be an issue; but, people want them for other things as well.
Right now, the best bet is to find a librarian who's selling them and get as many as you can.

So, it's fast until I try to see how fast it is.

I think I read somewhere that damage values only go up to 16. I could be wrong though.

I think the main reason they've done this is to make sure enchanting still has some challenge to it, even with all the ways you get XP now. So, along with my first couple ideas, I suggest decreasing the XP gained from mining and what not by about 1/3.
I see a lot of people talking about 2 different kinds of bookshelves, and I suppose that could work as well. We already have 2 types of Golden apples and all that would be required is a new recipe.

Opimize: [Computers] To write or rewrite (the instructions in a program) so as to maximize efficiency and speed in retrieval, storage, or execution.
They are optimizing rendering so that the load on the CPU is not so much. Thus decreasing lag, and allowing lower end computers to run the game better.
If you're getting lag spikes in Optifine, try using a different version of it. I get spikes if I use the standard edition, but the others run much better.

As for the plugins and such, they want to make most mods/plugins compatable in singe and multi-player.

Here's a change log
And now some pitcures
Here are some of the new blocks, and a couple old ones with a slight color tweak.
Here's the new creative menu.
And here's the GUI for the books.
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've had artist's block for a while now when it comes to this pack and I was originally going to wait for 1.3 before updating; however, since it won't be out for atleat about a month and since it's been so long, I decide to just go ahead and update. I hope to update again soon with more mobs retextured aswell.
Any kind of feedback or suggestions are welcome, especailly anything about the new GUIs.

Remember 1.8? remember all the bugs it had? How much of that could have been fixed if Mojang had done with that what they are doing now?
