posted a message on Does anyone out there ever feel like...
I used to feel like that too, like my life was ultimately amounting to nothing, that all my aspirations were vain and futile, and that nothing I did could fully satisfy me. I was just stuck in a boring monotonous life were nothing significant would ever happen. But now everything I do satisfies me, I have a central purpose behind all my actions, and I know that if I were to die right now that my life would have meant something and was not wasted. And the funny thing is that as soon as I started on this path everything started picking up. I'm doing things now that I never even dreamed of before and wake up every morning ready to face the new day's challenges and grow ever stronger for the experience.

Sounds like an opportunity to rise in the social hierarchy by being *that guy* who everyone comes to begging for help and advice, which you can dispense in exchange for favors or tribute. No jk, don't be an extortionist, but I see no harm in dropping a hint every now and then to make others be able to enjoy the game more like you do. You can help them transition from smoking to snorting.

It only bothers me if I'm on a creative server trying out a new building idea. If its survival anything goes. If they destroy my stuff I just know that I didn't defend it well enough. In a real anarchist state your private property only extends to what you can protect from others. I don't believe in banning and setting up mechanical restrictions, let society make its own rules. But I'm a social anarchy theorist, so I automatically assume that Minecraft "survival" has the same rules as a post-apocalyptic world survival (none).

I run it just fine on my Toshiba Satellite A505-S6965. Its not a hardcore gaming computer to be sure, but it runs pretty much everything I want it to just fine. TF2, Minecraft, it even plays Skyrim on Max settings flawlessly. Not too bad for a laptop that was $700 3 years ago methinks. Plus all of my computer-savvy friends (and I have several) agree that Toshiba makes the best Windows machines.

posted a message on Jungle Biome Additions (Update - Mob)
    Quote from cnoisy

The only reason I said the chests is because people always ask "what would be the point of it?". The chests aren't a necessity.

Then in that case there should be a particular valuable resource only found in the deep jungle that would give those homebodies an incentive to go exploring. Actually I've felt the same way about all the biomes. There really isn't a good "realistic" reason to go traveling. All great explorers went out in search of exotic riches. India had spices, China had silk, Africa had Ivory and Diamonds, South America had gold, North America had abundant animals (for food and fur) and timber. In Minecraft the only difference is mostly aesthetics and you can grow/make most anything with little effort from the comfort of your bedrock grotto. We need biome specific potion ingredients/minerals/crafting materials/food types, etc. Ok, Sorry. I'm off my soapbox now. :3

posted a message on Artillery in Minecraft
Rather than artillery I would prefer medieval war machines. They can have ballista, catapults, trebuchets and perhaps simple cannons(like the ones we have now) that use TNT or Stone ammunition. I think that would fit better with the flavor of the game, seeing as how it already has swords, bows, magic, potions, etc. Think Medieval fantasy, not Steampunk. But there is a mod for that if you're so inclined. Ta,ta! And to each his own. :tongue.gif:

posted a message on Resetting The Nether
Just explore into new areas. I went on an epic adventure last night in the same Nether I've had since the big Halloween update last year and I found a Nether fort not really too far away. I am now holed up in a cobblestone cocoon crying and slowly starving to death while waiting for the Blazes to stop picking on me. *sobbing* make them go away mommy, Their voices are everywhere! Make them go awaaay!
