Cave spider spawners are easy to find, and the easiest to find in clusters. I used Rei's minimap to waypoint spawners and explored until I found 2 of them close together. Didn't take long. Then just dig out a room for them, direct a water flow into a 1x1 hole. Enjoy.

    Questions?

posted a message on [REQ] Staking a Claim on SMP
Lots of debate on how to stake out territory. Here might be a neat way to do it.

Player builds a contiguous border around the area he would like to own. Cobblestone might work best. It all has to be on the same height level. Once it is enclosed. Player places a sign and stakes his claim. Border becomes unbreakable and only Player may build inside, from sky to bedrock.

To place a cost on his claim, the server may require every so many blocks contain a gold or steel block. For instance every 32 blocks contain a gold.

So Player finds a mountain he wants to own. He might go to the bedrock and dig out where he wants the border. or place his border on the surface.

I have a SMP map I would like to distribute, however, if someone were to login to it for the first time for singleplayer, it would seem "lived in".

To have some get a sense that the buildings they see are "ruins", it would help if there were no torches and maybe no chest contents. Maybe it could remove a random 5 percent of cobblestone as well to slightly wreck buildings.

Mainly, I'd like a script to remove torches. Exists?

Been playing on the same SMP map since day 1. Our small group is very attached it. I wanted to use the Biome mod very badly for SMP.

    Here's what I did.
    1: get map deleter
2: delete out a section in the middle of your world nobody has used.
3: install biome mod, find some good settings
4: backup and drop your SMP map into saves directory with a biomesettings.txt
5: get into single player with your map and explore deleted section
6: drop map back in SMP

alternatively, you can just explore new map sections. Now we have some super awesome floating islands in the middle of regular landscape. Thx Bucyruss!

Really good idea. Hopefully we will see standardized screenshots for future t-packs based on this.

    Looks really good,

I would only suggest perhaps making the trees/grass/dirt a little less bright & "cartoonish", as it contrasts with the awesome realism going on everywhere else.

The cobblestone seems to tile an awful lot in your dungeon as well not sure what's up there.

I changed the leaves and am also having some second thoughts on the green cobblestone. 128 seems to noticeably tile due to lighting moreso that 16.

Hey all. I started making this pack for my own use and I completed so much, I figured I would share it with you all. Please let me know if you see any problems or have any suggestions. If something sucks, tell me! I never tested the Nether.

    Download it here! (version 1.1)
    http://www.mediafire.com/?x3c4k5fjkvyi4tm

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    INSTRUCTIONS

    1) download the latest version of Xau's HD texture fix from this link:
    viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173

    2) run the mcpatcher.exe file you just got, set tile size from 16x16 to 128x128 and click Patch, then wait for the program to finish before closing it

    3) download the texture pack from this link:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?x3c4k5fjkvyi4tm

    4) Drop the zip file into C:\Users\YOURusername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks
(or run minecraft and click the Open texture folder button)

    5) run minecraft and select it as your texturepack

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I highly recommend MrMMods v1.1 - AO, SimpleMap and the return of BetterGrass
    found here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=55700
as it makes these 128 packs look awesome.

Thanks goes to Copperdomebodha for his "Sanguine Textures for Minecraft"
You can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=77265
and "Aza's Arid 128 pack" here:
    viewtopic.php?f=25&t=64678

I used Aza's as a template who had used copperdomebodha's. Confirmed copperdomebodha's elements that remain in the is pack are: Seedling, Adminium, Iron block ( gold block re-color ), Gold block, Sponge, Wool, Snow, Cactus, Clay, Bamboo, Torch ( partial ), Lever, Soil wet, Soil dry, Rails turning, and Rails straight

    origami flowers

Me and Omegarc are recreating the Giza plateau with precise measurements of the pyramid locations. wat?

Just throwing this out there for anyone interested.

Idea: A component, like the wood and stone plates, which reacts to sunlight.

    Uses:
Could be used to shut doors and lock down base for the night.
Could be used to turn lights on at night and off for the day (extends torch life when that gets in?).
