The falling sand spawners are easy enough to replace, and the new command block stuff won't be a whole lot of use. I might go in and take a look soon, though I'm currently involved in three other projects, so it might take me awhile.

For now, 1.6 should suffice. I'd be more than happy to get it into 1.8 shape once I have the chance, or at least try. It's a good map, it deserves it.

Any particulars? I could probably fix some stuff if it's needed.

To be honest I'm not sure I can think of a good way to do it. It was never intended to be a teleporting mechanic though until later in development though which is why it uses @a though. In anycase thanks for the feedback, I will think about it but I'm not too sure what I can do about that.

Well actually, I can think of a way to do it, but it's extremely complicated and I didn't think of it myself. I forget the name, but someone on Crit.Map (DDR I think) came up with a method that would work for this. He uses it for wool. I'd ask him for you, but you're in the group now, so I don't have to.

The lava walls labyrinth isn't funny. It's irritating... It's too difficulty and boring. It's stupid. I gave up the game after trying to play it.

Or you could just take the bonus wool for that stage?

How did you make the locked chest?

There's a new datatag in snapshot that lets you 'lock' a chest so that it can only be opened by holding an item with a specific name. In this case, 'Key'.

One question, the last section of the dropper section has an enderdragon completely motionless. How did you manage that? I thought attributes and potion effects didn't work with enderdragons.

EDIT: I dont't plan on stealing or using your idea, just curious. ;)

This should be relevant to your interests:

    Sadly broken in snapshots.

I was pretty reliably able to get new frozen shovels every few rounds, but I guess a few soggy shovels at the start would help avoid that at any rate. Did you fix the Jarig exploit, or is that still a thing nobody takes advantage of so there's no point fixing it?

I'm totally cheating the system with how I preserve my items between rounds. Jig already knows it, but let's just say I have infinite storage.

Anyway, posting cause I found a bug, if a minor one. Leaving the game (say, to go do something else for awhile) then reentering results in a fresh load of the 'startup equipment'. This can be abused to get infinite bread/swords/armor.

Hi there! I'm building a puzzle map similar to the code (I'm not ripping you off, don't get mad), and I'd like to know how you made the impossible hallway mechanic. I'm trying to make a hallway that loops around into a different room (in an impossible way) but I can't figure out how you set the command blocks. (I'm kind of a command block noob but a lover of puzzles so I wanted to try this)

    Thank you! :D

I believe you'll find this pretty relevant:

It's the closest I could find from Jesper's channel.

You should be able to get a signature from your profile, there should be some option for signature customization. As to the similar map styles, don't worry about it. They're very different maps, and it's nice to have more than one example of a genre. Besides, I'm going in some differing directions with the sequel.

As to the friends problem, I used to have the same issue. Then I... no, wait, I still have that problem. Afraid I can't help much there. Joining building groups helps, but not everyone has the time for that.

I'd highly recommend grabbing snapshot and messing with clone, it is a very powerful and useful command. For rebuilding the tutorial area, you wouldn't need a lot of command blocks. Just a few, with clone, and texelelf's filters can make that a breeze.

I'll be happy to play it with my friends if I can arrange it, it was actually one of them that linked me here in the first place. They have busy schedules, so no guarantees, but I might be able to get a match together. If I do, and it's recorded, feel free to post it here.

If that doesn't work out, I'd recommend contacting someone that actually records decent videos that could be interested in playing. When I record videos myself I generally do it just for my own consumption later, but when, say, rsmalec, qmagnet, jigarbov, or The_VII (from the test round) record, they know what they're doing. A good, high-quality gameplay video is great for showing friends how to play. I'd recommend a smaller youtuber, they're usually less busy and easier to contact than larger ones.

We've got a texture pack that guy made, it's just not very complete. I guess we decided it was sort of redundant and unnecessary for this sort of map.

Amazing map thus far. And I am commenting when I completed only three areas because I was playing the "arena" map and then when I completed it, I was curious about what would happen if I would enter the cheating area and pressed the button. And, for proof that I didnt cheat, I DO know that the actual button is hidden behind of where the stairs should be. So now I am stuck in the middle of nowhere. I just wanted to know where the coords are for the spawn, because I dont feel like re-downloading the entire map.

The coords can't help you there, you're in the end. I'd recommend deleting your player file from the map, then you'll get reset to spawn.

Shame there's no videos of this one. Really, gameplay videos are one of the best ways to get a good idea of the essence of a map. I still haven't tried it, but I do intend to. Maybe I'll record it.

You should try sticking a link to this thread in your signature, as I have for mine. It may not help much, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt either.

I'm really quite interested in how you caught me cheating. Great map though, from what I played.
It was a fake exit. Really beating the arena opens the wall instead. If you really want to play the rest, you could always redownload it and cheat in the wool for whichever parts you've already beaten.

Oh. That. Yeah, spelling is not Wiskey's strong point. I'll patch that when I'm done rendering this video.
