posted a message on World won't render

I've been playing on a 1.7.10 world with Forge 10.13.4.1558 and a load of mods for a while now, and I have a big problem. When I open the world, it won't load, I just slowly sink away in nothingness, surrounded by dark contours of mobs in the distance.

Until yesterday, everything was alright. When I opened my world this morning, there were three unconnected chunks which simply wouldn't load, even after restarting Minecraft and even my pc. And now, the same thing happened to the whole world. Anyone who knows what caused this madness and how I can fix it? I already tried making a copy of the save, but without success.

posted a message on Mod idea: Project Repopulate

I was playing the Mineout modpack recently and this gave me a nice idea for a mod. This is the concept: you are the only living organism in a world that has been destroyed completely by a nuclear war, and you receive a small starter kit with basic tools and weapons and a bit of food. Everything is dead: there is only dirt, polluted water and ruins of buildings; all lifeforms have been erased completely. Your goal is to repopulate this world: bring back the grass, trees, clean water, inhabited villages...

You start off by roaming for ruins of villages and towns, because there you can find food that has been conserved in hidden radioactivity-free chests. This is the only way to get food, as there are no crops, seeds or animals in the world. Once you have gathered enough food for a while, you can actually start the repopulation project. In order to do so, you mine for metals and other materials, which you need for making different kinds of technology. All this technology will be used for genetic modification. As you are the only living thing in the whole world, the only way you can repopulate it is by taking DNA from yourself and modifying it into other humans, animals and even plants. "Genetic blueprints" of different kinds of organisms can also be found in towns.

The first organisms you need to grow are algae, which can be used for cleaning out water. When you have enough clean water, you can create and farm crops, so that you no longer have to rely on the food you found in villages and towns. With the harvest of your crops, you can breed animals. When you have a steady and sufficient food production, you can create fellow humans with your DNA (which could be even clones of yourself, if you choose not to modify your DNA). These humans have quite a high level of intelligence, which means that they can help you with the repopulation project when supplied with the right tools and materials.

When you got yourself a steady food supply and a team of humans, the real repopulation can start. Dirt has to be decontaminated so grass can grow and spread on it, water must be purified on a large scale, villages and towns must be rebuilt and inhabited by procreating humans... You will be notified that the goal of the game has been reached when a certain area of the world is completely repopulated, but you can choose to go on with repopulating if you want, or you could just enjoy your work and live a happy life in your populated piece of the world.

Of course, this is all still a little bit vague, but if I get enough support for this idea, I will work it out more elaborately. So please let me know what you think, and if you can code and you like this mod idea, your help would certainly be appreciated.

posted a message on A use for gold blocks

As I stated in a recent post of mine, gold is indeed a bit useless right now (if we disregard its decorative uses). But gold is a very electrical conductive metal, so why not use it as a redstone conductor?

This is my exact suggestion: if an active redstone wire touches a gold block or, more likely, a group of gold blocks (it doesn't matter in which way they're connected), the gold blocks will conduct the signal. That means that when another redstone wire (or more signals) touches the group of gold block, it will also be activated.

This addition would have two advantages:

    - Gold will be more useful
    - There will be an alternative way to transfer redstone signals, which can be very useful sometimes. For example: you no longer need a 1-layer space between different floors of a building to get redstone signals to lamps in the ceiling; instead you can place a row of gold blocks in the ceiling, which is also decorative.

(in Gabens voice) Please let me know what you think.

posted a message on About the whole gold discussion

There's a lot of people in the suggestions section asking for more durability on gold tools. It's true that gold is pretty much useless right now if it comes to tools, but this has its reason: gold has a hardness of 2.5 on the Mohs scale, which isn't that much. (To give you an idea: copper has 3 and iron has 4.) Therefore I think it's just logical that gold tools break quickly. And about the 'useless' argument: Minecrafters often seem to neglect the decorative value of things. I really like gold blocks (although the color isn't very realistic). However, I wouldn't mind if gold were given a 'useful' function. For example; gold is often used in electric components, so why not use it in some potential upcoming redstone-related crafting recipes?

posted a message on Invertory clearer?

I'd like to have a (creative only) item which clears the inventory of a block (e.g a chest or a furnace) when you click the target block with it. Does anyone know a mod which adds such a thing? 1.7.10 if possible.

posted a message on Equivalent Exchange 3 incomplete?

I am playing Tekkit 1.6.4 and I noticed that some items of Equivalent Exchange 3 (which I saw in videos and on the official site) are missing. The mod version was 0.1.140, so I installed 0.1.142, the most recent 1.6.4 version I could find, but my problem isn't fixed yet. I think there might be two causes:

    - There is a problem with the mod files or Forge.

    - This is a newer version of EE3 than the one in the videos I saw, and certain items and mechanics have been removed.

    Can anyone help me out?

posted a message on Forge crashing
    Hello

I recently installed Forge 1.7.10, but when I create or open a world, my game crashes for no apparent reason. I tried two different 1.7.10 downloads of the official page of Forge downloads, I tried the download of RadixShock, the site of the mod I want to play (Minecraft Comes Alive), I even reinstalled Minecraft, but my game kept crashing and now, it doesn't even want to run (when I launch the game, the laucher closes but the Mojang screen doesn't show up). Can anybody tell me what's the matter or what I could do? I use Forge since 1,5 jears, and this is the first time it really causes trouble.
By the way, I recently updated my launcher to a version which doesn't need Java. I downloaded this launcher from the site of Mojang.

posted a message on Minecraft is running out of ideas...
It is true that a lot of ideas come from mods and stuff, but I don't think this is bad. And admit it, there is a mod or a plugin for everything. No wonder all additions are implemented in mods already. But it is true that Mojang doesn't have a lot of cool ideas.
