When someone asks me when I'm going to release an update to the mod I write (for a different game) I say "When I'm done with it." And if they're really impatient about it, "Do you want it done right now, or right later?"

I think you should wait for 1.9.1. It'll be released in two days. Maybe it's better to fix something.

I'm pretty sure that 1.9.1 doesn't change anything that he's been working on. It's mostly changes to the combat system concerning the cooldown. Shouldn't take him long to get that stuff merged with what is done already.

Everyone that I've seen with this problem so far had Intel graphics, but turning off mipmap helped them.

Adfly is the worst about malicious ads and garbage links...I run AdBlocker for this reason alone...mod authors need to stop using adfly

I just copy the link and remove the "adf.ly/404181/" part of it. Takes me right where I need to go without the adfly crap.

posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)

Just found this thread after posting to another about a bug in Optifine. It involves chickens laying eggs while the player is away. Can be easily reproduced by making an automatic chicken cooker in the spawn chunks and going far away for a while. Using 1.8.9-Optifine_HD_U_H1 the chickens will mature while away, and die by whatever means they're intended to die, but the seeder chickens will not lay eggs unless you are nearby. With the vanilla client, they lay eggs while you're away, and they sometimes hatch and eventually mature and burn or drown. I hadn't noticed this behavior before, as I only used Optifine as my client while playing on a home hosted SMP server that didn't have any mods installed. The seeder chickens still behaved normally, since the server was vanilla.

If there was anything in this thread about chickens, Google didn't find it. 2383 pages is tl:dr, so sorry if this has been brought up before.

posted a message on How to get around hopper pull before push mechanics?

A clock with the right timing can be set to turn off the bottom hopper just long enough for the top one to allow an item to push, then it would turn back on long enough for the next item to be pulled.

The auto smelters I've made never had this issue, but weren't designed with a hopper pipe split like that. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why you would need this functionality.

posted a message on I allocate ram into minecraft, but minecraft doesn't use it, therefore, I still get 30 fps...

Graphics card. You only have Intel's on-board graphics. My laptop has an Intel/Nvidia setup. It uses Intel for the usual stuff, like displaying Windows or LInux (I use both), and Nvidia for the graphics in games. Still crappy, since it's a laptop. No option for me to upgrade.

In your case, it looks to me that you're not on a laptop. So installing a graphics card wouldn't be impossible, and would help you as long as it isn't too old.

Installing a graphics card in a system that already has on-board graphics is easy. The only trick might be figuring out which port to have your monitor hooked to the first time you start up after installing it. Sometimes, you have to setup the new one while still using the on-board video to see what you're doing. Other times, you can plug in the card, hook up your monitor to the new card's port, boot up and forget about on-board. I usually just hook up to the new one, and if Windows doesn't figure it out I switch to the on-board long enough to get drivers installed and working. Or use 2 monitors, if an extra one is available.

posted a message on Interesting Error on Startup

A driver crash could still be caused by a hardware issue.

I would suggest you turn off the computer, unplug it, then carefully remove the video card and replace it (in the same slot it came from). Start it back up and run MalwareBytes and Housecall (Trend Micro) on that thing.

And found this thread that seems to have the same issue and same dll in the crash report. (atio6axx.dll) Might help reading how they worked it out.

Also, what java args you're using?

posted a message on New 3x3 flush staircase wall. no exposed redstone or pistons using double piston extender

The levers on lights just make it so it seems like a noob put them there to power the light. An experienced player probably wouldn't think that turning off one of the lights would do anything other than turn off the light. Especially since there are other lights powered the same way. A button would be like hanging a sign that reads "CLICK ME"

edit- How about adding a flush to the ground redstone torch key?

Key word, Laptop. There isn't much you can do. Allocating more RAM won't make a difference. The bottleneck is the Intel Graphics. (Just making a prediction, haven't seen the dxdiag yet)

posted a message on Problems with Cobblestone Walls!

Cobblestone Walls are 1.5 blocks high, same as fences. If you have something nearby that they can jump on and jump from that, they can get over a Cobblestone Wall or fence. Also, it seems that sheep can jump off the back of another sheep. I always have to build my sheep pens a little deeper than the other pens.
