Took a map editor, replaced dirt with TNT.
A game of dont punch the godamn dirt.
Its actually harder than it sounds.
hahaha i think i might try that. sounds extremely funny. a good test of will power because its probably extremely tempting to punch, but you know if you do, your computers gonna freeze
Haven't been able to do much mega-building, since minecraft has been too janky lately, server maps keep getting reset
[my beautiful buildings were lost before i screenshat on the most recent wipe]
The vanilla, intuitive way-to-play is, obviously, mine and gather materials, transform materials into tools and contraptions to make structures, and battle baddies.
But minecraft can be a lot more than that with a little imagination, and a clever texture pack.
I felt like turning minecraft into a space battle for a while. Flying around, blowing up borg cubes.
What alternative gameplay methods have you thought of/done?
Some basic gates. Kinda cool. Not advanced or too practical, though.
At least you used proper English.
Since you're just learning redstone, well, fantastic. You're getting there. Keep practicing and making more mechanisms, soon you'll have a wowing thread on your hands.
Make a giant display screen that allows you to type characters from their 8-bit values. All it takes is a decoder to convert the 8-bit to each character, an encoder to determine which pixels are lit up for each letter and have each pixel be updated to shift to the left when each new letter is entered. You can have it shift a preset number of pixels for all characters or have the characters write and shift one column at a time.

make it life size, then you can add a crease, blue lines, faceoff circles, etc.
even if not life size, definitely gotta be at least 3x the size of that.

when they talk about the .minecraft directory on windows'
that folder is ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
for you, where ~ is whatever your "name" is on that mac. so for me, ~ represents the "Dan" folder.
Do everything else the same.

Basically doing that. But the GUM is huge, annoying, and not pretty.
plus then im doing part of the kremlin wall, which begs to finishing the rest of the kremlin. Iconic, but not worth it.

I like to do this on some of the smp servers I join. including sk89q's.

Don't tell me. Tell it to your eskimo family that's going to freeze to death tonight.
Build them a log cabin. With fireplace. Yes. Your house must be made out of wood, and have a fireplace. Secure it somehow, but make it so.
And add in a ski-lift. You didn't bring your immigrant eskimo family here for nothing.

then make it out of snow. and don't make it small. You have a whole eskimo family to raise in there, you know.

It's super effective!

to my knowledge no one has built one before (and posted it here).
