I do and I don't. I have select worlds on which I have it on certain difficulties, and certain worlds that I use hacks on.

    Awesome!

@zaph34r - Mind if I ask what texture pack you're using? It looks pretty good.

Concept reminds me of amnesia, the dark descent.

I actually saw some videos of that, and I literally thought of how cool it'd be to have something in Minecraft like it, so I loosely based it off of that. I'm surprised you thought that.

getting on topic here, this looks good... i haven't seen a map that involves puzzle things yet... so it would be worth a try...

Well, it isn't done yet, but thanks anyways. I hope you like it. :smile.gif:

I stumbled upon this, and I now have a motive. I will help with this, I am thinking about the redstone traps already! And plus, minecarts will deffinately be a challenge.

One bug I found though, this may be because the new update, the middle painting doesnt stay on the wall, so the chest was pretty obvious the first time around...
I didnt know furnaces had the same top as smooth stone, thats awesome! though skinds would make that way easier to find, so maybe you should say to play with the original skin. I will help with this, I'm going to make some rooms and send them to you and you can copy whatever you want, I just want to be part of this!

Nah, I'd rather do it so I have a good idea of what's happening. Thanks for the bug, though. :smile.gif: I have an idea that will fix it... In any case, thank you. :biggrin.gif: And yeah, saying to play with the original skin will help. I'll add that to the rules real quick.

Pretty fun, but really fast. And was the Redstone supposed to be infinite? It wouldn't be as fast if it wasn't.

    Anyways, 1:12.

This demo was EPIC i loved it!!!!

    Thanks.

I've been considering uploading it in chunks as I complete it. It'd probably be better if I uploaded the entire thing instead of chunks, but I'd like to know what you guys want.

I'm not using any mods and it won't work, so uhh..
    You using mods?

Only InvGrid (Mac equivalent of InvEdit) to get the materials I need to build it. Otherwise, nope.

cant seem to find the saves folder, can you explain how to find it?

    C:\Users\[yourusernamehere]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft (For Windows 7)

Apparently the folder is hidden, so you'll have to unhide it somehow. Not exactly sure, though. (I'm on a Mac atm.)

    Yeah, you should make this.

I like the concept so much that I want to make my own.

YOU AND YOUR SNEAKY F***ING FURNACES!

    EDIT: I'm doing this tomorrow...

DOUBLE EDIT: Get someone good at modding like Risagumi to help you make a new game mode where the rules are actual physical limitations in the game.

    Thanks. :smile.gif:

And I would, but I'm not sure if I want to go to the trouble, or if it'd even work on my OS.

Very nice! Works for me, not sure why you're having problems, Shawn..

No offense, but this was a complete failure. Even for a demo.
You need more than one redstone dust to open the first steel door, and even after moving the switch it wouldn't open.
Then you need like 3 to open the last door, I guess.

Either that, or your walkthrough sucks.

Actually, you don't. I've tested it. The Redstone only needs to diagonally touch the door, not directly. I was completely able to open both doors with the amount of Redstone I put in.

    See?

    Escape the Mansion

Before telling you anything about the map, I'd just like to say right now that this MAY NOT BE MADE. I'm releasing this demo/preview right now to see if people would be interested. Of course, even if they aren't, I might complete this and make it for fun anyways, but still.

    About the Map
The map is basically an adventure/puzzle game for Minecraft. It combines elements of dungeon crawling and problem solving. The basic story is that you are wandering through your newly created world, and you find a mysterious mansion made of a smooth stone. You enter, and find it very eerie. You attempt to exit, but realized you are trapped, as you cannot open the iron door behind you. Now you must find an alternative exit... Please note that this map is not complete as of yet, so any help with bugs or exploits, or plain feedback, would be appreciated. Also, since the map isn't completed yet, it is VERY short, though if you don't know what to do, MAY be time consuming to complete. You win if you go through the exit underneath the stairs, although this area would be just the beginning if the map was completed, so consider this a demo.

    Rules to the Map
    - You may not destroy any blocks. This includes paintings, torches, doors, etc.
    - You may only obtain items from storage containers or monsters. (Unless I specifically say otherwise in the map.)
    - You may place blocks you find, and may destroy them if you wish, but only the ones you placed.
    - No hacking in items, or otherwise modifying the game, including texture packs. (It could ruin some methods of hiding items.)
    - You may play on any difficulty, but if you're looking for a challenge, play on Easy difficulty or higher. You can play on Peaceful, though.
    - If you die, it's okay to start over (I built the mansion on the spawn point... I just hope it works. xD) but it may not be possible (Depending on your situation.) to continue if you are unable to retrieve your items.

    Screenshots

    Full size version

    Versions & Changes
    Demo

Once you download any version, unzip the file, and rename the folder to World# (The # being the desired World number.) Then place it in your Minecraft saves folder, and the game will automatically add it to your saved games, but make sure you've moved the previous world folder somewhere else, or it won't work. (Unless you didn't have a save in that world.)

    Progress
Room-o-meter = Number of rooms complete. I've completed the layout. There are 20 rooms.
    Green = Complete
    Blue = In progress
Red = Incomplete and not started yet

    Demo
    Area behind the iron door.
    Area behind the next one.
    Final Stretch
    Room-o-meter = 17/20 complete (Not including hallways.)

    Known Bugs and/or Exploits
Note that this section may contain spoilers on how to do things, therefore I have put each in a spoiler tag.

The painting hiding the chest with the Redstone in it goes away. Attempted fix - Putting a door behind it, and requiring players to figure out how to open it.

    Notes
I realize that this is pretty easy so far, especially without any mobs yet, but don't worry. It'll be harder later on. :wink.gif:

    Walkthrough
Below I have posted a walkthrough. So far it only contains the demo walkthrough (In case you somehow have trouble. :tongue.gif:) so I haven't divided it into sections. Later I will do so in case you don't want to accidentally peek ahead, and just want to see what to do where you are. Mouse over the spoiler box if you want to see it.

Once you start, go up the stairs and to the room on the right. Below the torch on the left side of the wardrobe is a hidden furnace containing 1 piece of Redstone Dust. (Just right click on the floor and it'll open up.) Take the Redstone, and use it to link the lever to the iron door on the left side of the stairs. Follow the hallway and go in the door. You will see three paintings. Walk through the middle one, and you will find a secret chamber containing a chest, which contains 1 piece of Redstone Dust. Exit out the hall, and into the foyer. Then take the Redstone Dust you placed earlier, and use both pieces to link the lever on the bottom floor to the iron door. (Remember, you can destroy things YOU place. :wink.gif: ) Switch on the lever, and go through the door. In case you were wondering, the middle room at the top of the stairs contains a chest hidden in front of the stairs, (Which is supposed to be a chair.) just out of view from the door. It contains a sword and some bread. Also, it is dark enough for mobs to spawn in there, discouraging some people, or making others think that what you're looking for is in there.

Wow, thanks! Now to get to work on that project I thought of...

@permai - I found that, but it's not for Leopard. It's for Snow Leopard.

@Ironhide - Thanks, but it's a lot easier imo to run apps when they are built native to your OS.

Is there an equivalent for InvEdit for Mac Leopard? (10.5.8. Not 10.6 or higher.) I found a couple on Minepedia but I couldn't run them, so any help on running those works too.

    Thanks in advance. :smile.gif:
