Does Piledriver have the same issues as Bulldozer? I'm pretty sure they fixed them with the new architecture. If they didn't though, replace the FX with Ivy bridge or something.
I get about ~60 fps on far/fancy with smooth lighting turned off. Either i'm doing something wrong, or AMD drivers hate smooth lighting for mc. (Running on A8-3850)
How the heck is "Stevie" a girl's name? I mean, maybe if the parents were REALLY out of it or something, or just absolutely bonkers, would they name their girl Stevie (to be fair, I once knew a girl whose name was Rainbow Princess Starlite...yeah she changed her name to Emily when she turned 18).
Seriously. This is up there as one of the stupider suggestions I've seen, and I've been on these forums for nearly 2 years now.
I think he was being sarcastic.
Rainbow princess starlite?! faith in humanity = lost.
Hi, I really need a new computer. I would like something with about 8gb of ram, at least a 1tb hard drive, non intergrated graphics card, intel processor (hopefully i5), no monitor, no mouse or keyboard, for around 600$(give or take a little). I cant build my own, so if anyone has any suggestions I will be glad to hear them, Thanks!
I tried to do that, but my attempt was ~$150 over budget. so, I'll leave you with a good build that doesn't break your budget (as much): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/eJ4A
The G860 is still a great processor, even though it is a little worse than an i3. I find the better sacrifice to make however, is the processor in a gaming build, because that will free up cash for a better graphics card.
The 6770 is an okay card, should be able to play most games on medium/high, if I remember correctly. if you can spare the extra ~$40 to make it a 6850, go for it.
Perhaps try updating your video card drivers. Also, buy a can of compressed air, open up your laptop, and blow all the dust out of it. That should help keep it cool.
Good comparison, lol. But, I have a laptop first of all ( I know that's not good for games, but others play with the same kind of laptop fine) It's an HP PAvilion dm4 w/ Intel Core i5 @ 2.4gHZ and Intel HD graphics ( I know it's onboard, shouldn't make to bad of a difference) and 4GB Ram.
There's your problem. Intel IGPs suck for gaming, you'll need an AMD IGP or dedicated GPU if you want to run the game better. Until you get a better computer, try using optifine.

The APU is better without a dedicated graphics card
For games like BF3, MW3, etc, get the i7 and a dedicated graphics card, APUs are more for light gaming.

A8 and Bulldozer don't go together. Nice try, though.

Steam Summer Sale dude. I agree with Wolley about not bothering to upgrade though, just get a new computer.

Windows Ultimate 32-bit too, so useless for any sort of RAM upgrading...
