I don't want to join YET ANOTHER Discord, especially if it's just to check progress on TC. They have a lot of such people already. And anyway, from what it looks like, if a new TC comes out of CoFH, it won't be anytime within the forseeable future anyway.
I found that github, too, I don't think this is the official continuation. That was the main reason I posted here: you can't find anything tangible on google. I found that, found some reddid which said that it isn't the right one, another reddit that kinglemming is working on it and supposedly it's for 1.14,
Maybe most information is here: https://www.reddit.com/user/KingLemming/ which sounds like: stuff is really hard to port beyond 1.12, maybe after other Thermal stuff is ported TC can be done...
Have considered returning to minecraft again after a long time. Are there any news on the TC continuation? Is it actually happening, and, if yes, is it know for which version it is going to be?
I had another observation regarding primordial pearls: they MIGHT drop more often, if the rift spawns in a vis-rich environment.
Last time, I did my experiments in The End, to prevent the spread of taint. The End, at least for me, has a very low vis level. I think I got a primordial pearl there once, from, like 20 rifts I destroyed.
This time, I installed Aether Legacy, and did my experiments there. The Aether is very vis-rich for me, consistently having more than 200 vis, and about 250 in the chunk where I had the rifts this time. Had two rifts there, and BOTH gave me a primordial pearl. The second one even with two uses in it.
Thanks for the testing. Would it possible to add a recipe for the pillars themselves, so we can obtain them in survival?
Probably yes. However, as I said, they are somewhat difficult to place, and when mined, they revert back to being just two stones.
I guess you could make the recipe really simple, just two of the blocks placed vertically. So that you can just keep re-crafting and placing them until you get it right.
Is there any information about the new mantainer btw? Last information was like: yes, there is someone. But, is there anything besides it? Will this 1.12.2 version be ever updated by this new mantainer? Or will it be like 1.14 and above only, and/or not really Thaumcraft, but more like a spiritual successor, or what?
- The item pedestals are indeed functional. They seem to provide their boni as well.
- The infusion pillars (The four curved things around the Infusion Matrix) are functional as well, if placed in Creative Mode. They are a little tricky to place, but if you manage to make them all face inward and rightclick the matrix, it will actually take on the same color as the stones
- However, neither ancient nor eldrich Infusion Pillars can actually be crafted. You can place them like you would place regular arcane stone, but using salis mundus doesn't transform them into pillars.
If you can't make the infusion altar with them, how do you know they work?
The infusion altar itself is made from regular stone, I just replaced the pedestals around it. They did reduce the instability and are able to hold items, but, now that I think of it, I think I didn't actually try using them for crafting...
I incorporated some stuff of other mods I use, mostly somewhat rare stuff. You can hold an item in your hand and use "/mt hand" to get the code for it if you want to change them.
It's stable and fairly complete, for some values of "fairly". There's not much Eldritch stuff at the moment.
I Crafttweaked some recipes to get some of the inaccessible content. For example, made primordial pearls craftable (infusion crafting from causality collapsers with dangerous instability), or eldrich and ancient stones (via alchemy). Otherwise, obtaining pearls is absurdly difficult.
Infusion pillars made out of the stones seem to work, but I couldn't make the actual infusion altar out of them. Guess that part is still missing.
I can copypaste these recipes here, but there really isn't much to them.
Last I checked, Tinkers' Construct does not add a lot of materials at all anymore.
It just adds Cobalt and Ardite in the Nether.
Although it is compatible with a lot of metals from other mods.
I was talking about addons FOR Tinkers Construct. In this case, Tinker's Compendium. I'd like more tools, but I don't really need any more materials... Most of the mod-added ones are rather pointless IMO. In the end, you just have one material which is objectively the best for a head/handle/extra, and just keep using that anyway...
There is a saw in JEI with TiC as of the latest versions of the mods for 1.12.2. Let me see what I'm using here...
aah, the saw is listed as a Tinker's Compendium item
it is made with a tool rod, a tough tool rod, and a binding
JEI 4.15.0.268
Tinkers JEI 1.2
Tinkers Construct 2.12.0.135
Tinkers Compendium (Tinkers Defense) 1.4.2.27.2
Just tested it out, though and the functionality of a forge microblocks saw does not appear to be there, although you may want to try it yourself since I don't have that mod (which I realized as I was writing this)
Ugh. Can't there be a mod with extra tools/weapons, which doesn't add a ton of new materials? I don't even know what to do with all the materials I already have. Can they be disabled at least?
Yesterday I tried throwing some old tools I made into lava to get rid of them. They turned out to be immune. Is this intended behavior? If yes, how do I even get rid of old tools? Just let them lie until they despawn, or are they despawn-immune as well? Throw them down from the End island?
I found a mod recently that allows you to make Chisels using TConstruct. That made me wonder: are there mods which add even more TConstruct versions of mod-added tools? For example, a Forge Microblocks saw would be nice.
It's still being continued by KingLemming with creative oversight by Azanor. No one knows when it'll be ready, so no use asking. Either way, it's not being permanently canceled.
Where did you get that info? Or, to rephrase: where can I get news on that continuation after this forum has been closed?

Aka, 1.12.2 is truly abandoned... Oh well. At least I won't break anything with my crafttweaker scripts.
Do you have a link for that arcana? Google only gave me that:
https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/2453697-arcana-rpg-5-dimensions-100-mobs-bosses-minibosses
Edit: here are my recipes for the pillars:
https://pastebin.com/BRGmVwUL
This forum absolutely refuses to let me just post them, therefore pastebin.

I'd like to know that, too. I'm going to speculate towards random button mashing
