Microsoft didn't buy the game, they bought the data ordering system.

Anyway, This alpha is pretty tight. I'm sure there are things that can be fixed that I'm not seeing, but no crashes over several hours.

That too. Most folks lose sight that Minecraft was started as a simple project by some bored guy that took off far beyond anything he could have imagined.

I've been around since the first pre-alpha, I just generally have nothing to say. But if they did their job better, modders wouldn't have such a hard time going from version to version.

The reason Mojang doesn't use the latest Java is because it breaks Minecraft for a lot of people in Windows 10. It's easier for them to use this distribution method and to tell people to update their drivers than it is to try to fix their horribly broken software.

Yeah, Tech support and the guys on the issue tracker hate me because I post solutions that work instead of "Update your driver"

What the heck do they teach kids in computer class these days anyway, because it's sure isn't about how computers work.

That's the java console and not an error message at all. Go into the minecraft folder and find the latest fil called hs_err_pid#####.log. Open that with notepad and copy the first bunch of lines and post them. It should look something like this

    #
    # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
    #
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x00000000673ddda0, pid=13208, tid=8428
    #
    # JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_51-b16) (build 1.8.0_51-b16)
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.51-b03 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)
    # Problematic frame:
    # V [jvm.dll+0xadda0]

posted a message on Windows 10 update stopped Minecraft from playing a day later.

Windows 10 version is not the same as the java version and afaik they are not cross compatible. Haven't actually tried.

Try posting the actual error message. dxdiag is kind of useless. The first few lines of the hs_err log is best. They'd look like this:

    #
    # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
    #
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x00000000673ddda0, pid=13208, tid=8428
    #
    # JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_51-b16) (build 1.8.0_51-b16)
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.51-b03 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)
    # Problematic frame:
    # V [jvm.dll+0xadda0]

and are in the minecraft root folder.

One other quick thing, go to where it says search the web and windows and type java. The first thing on the list should be "Configure Java"/ CLick on that and tell me if the java control panel opens.

I never hear the fans getting loud or anything.

good fans won't get loud, and neither will failed fans. You should get a message about CPU overheating when you restart your computer, but it might not happen. If you search for CPU TEMP there are some free utilities that will help monitor that.

I'm more interested in the keystrokes however. There are ways to shut down your computer using alt+F2, iirc.

Why a windows10 version of minecraft? And what is it is position next to the Original (java) Minecraft, the Mobile version and the console versions?

e.g. will the Original java version still be developed further or will that be end of live now this version is here?

Also personaly i added some mods to my minecraft experience and i wonder if this new minecraft also supports modding?

Java is a low level language and has a lot of limitations. Developing a version in a higher level language....well.....check it out and see for yourself. I don't care for the furnace or chest interface, but the performance gains are pretty incredible.

I dunno, I stopped at XBox login.

But yeah, I'm sure since it's been done by programmers who know what they are doing it would have something to do with it.

To get to The End, yes. To get out of The End it's also horizontal though.

    OP?

Is this 4Chan or Technical support?

You gave poor, ineffective information and I gave a viable workaround to attempt. That's what a support community does, they help each other. webrosc was not at all helpful , and attempting to start a flame war is inexcusable.

Yes, I don't have a high post count because I haven't needed the support. However this issue is larger than one would think and a perfunctory search via Google would show that.

posted a message on Windows 10 and Updated drivers but still no working

Most people run fullscreen, and it's at least an option to try. "Update your drivers" and "Revert to Windows 7" are not support options.

Like I said, I spent a limited amout of time coming up with a workaround. You should do a little bit of research on this issue however. I now understand why people are seeking support options elsewhere.

YES IT IS, as you can see by the OP's image the computer does not have any drivers installed

end of discussion, if you do not know how to post the correct support do not post

You are incredibly rude. I had the same error today and resolved it by disabling fullscreen.

Copying and pasting is not support. Actually grappling with the errors and resolving them is.

It is 100% correct information. I spent all afternoon figuring it out. Windows 10 and Java apparetly don't get along very well.

I know what dxdiag does, it's still not relevant. Java is platform independent. This is not a driver issue, it's a Java or Minecraft problem.

The problem is fullscreen. Turn it off, the problem goes away.
